CARPET EXCHANGE

We only had a few issues with the whole process, and that was during the installation process. The installers scraped our wall a little bit, took a couple of hours longer then was promised and didn't do the best job of cleanup. We had a speaker wire coming out of the floor and the installers trapped it in an unusable place. If they would have asked, we could have told them where it should come out. When we called with this one issue, Paul had the installers come back out. It took only a few minutes to fix the problem.

Wow. We bought the carpet on Sunday afternoon, and the carpet is installed by Wednesday mid-morning. When we went to Great Floors, it was the second place we'd visited looking for new carpet. When the salesman realized we only wanted one room carpeted, he suggested we look at remnants to get a better deal. We had lots of choices among the remnants, and picked our favorite. I got a call the day before telling me they'd be by at around 9 to 9:30 the next morning, then another call an hour later changing the time to noon. Instead the workers showed up before 9 am and were gone by 9:30, leaving a beautiful new room! Very pleased, indeed! Highly recommended.

JERRY MEASURED AND QUOTED ME A PRICE FOR IN-STOCK CARPET. ONCE I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD WITH THE REPLACEMENT, HE WAS ABLE TO ARRANGE FOR INSTALLATION 2 DAYS LATER. THE CARPET LOOKS GREAT.

CARPET EXCHANGE WORKED AROUND THE CLOCK TO PUT IN OUR CARPET AND MADE SPECIAL ATTENTION TO OUR STAIRS. THEY WERE ALL VERY POLITE AND HARDWORKING. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL.

THIS PROVED TO BE A VERY DIFFICULT INSTALLATION OF A PRODUCT THAT WAS BEYOND THIS COMPANIES' EXPERTISE. THE POSSIBLE UNEVENNESS OF THE CEMENT SLAB UNDERNEATH EXISTING CARPET WAS POINTED OUT TO THE SALESMAN DURING THE INITIAL ESTIMATE BUT HE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW DIFFICULT IT WOULD BE TO LEVEL THE SLAB. (MANY BAGS OF LEVELING COMPOUND REQ'D) THE 1ST INSTALL CREW WAS PITIFUL, THE BOSS DIDN'T EVEN SHOW UP AT START OF THE JOB TO ADVISE THE CREW, I HAD TO DO THAT JOB. I DEMANDED THE CREW LEAVE THAT FIRST MORNING WHEN THEY MADE MANY SERIOUS MISTAKES THREATENING A GOOD INSTALLATION. FIRST THEY WERE IN SUCH A RUSH TO GET THE FLOOR DOWN, THEY DIDN'T DO ANY LEVELING OF THE FLOOR. ALSO THEY RIPPED UP ASBESTOS LADEN VINYL FLOORING AFTER BEING TOLD NOT TO REMOVE IT. (THE CREW WAS IMMIGRANT AND DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THE WORD ASBESTOS!) ULTIMATELY, THE STORE MANAGER DID WORK WITH US TO GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT, BY QUALIFIED WORKERS, BUT IT SURE WASN'T EASY! FOR WOOD FLOORS DON'T GO TO CARPET EXCHANGE.

THE FLOOR WORK WAS COMPLETED BY TWO MEN, EFFICIENT, COURTEOUS, PROFESSIONAL, ABLE TO MAKE EXCELLENT DECISIONS AS TO GROUTING TO ENHANCE SPECIALTY TILE. ON TIME, TRUSTWORTHY, PLAN TO CONTACT FOR ADDITIONAL CONTRACTS.

WE DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT MORE THAN A FEW DAYS FOR AN APPOINTMENT ON THE INSTALLATION. THEY WERE ON TIME AND FINISHED THE JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER AND CLEANED UP ALL OF THE MESS.

THE INSTALLERS ARRIVED ON TIME AND WERE VERY POLITE AND COURTEOUS. THEY EXPLAINED EACH STEP ALONG THE WAY SO DECISIONS AS NEEDED COULD BE MADE. WE DETERMINED THE BEST FLOOR MOLDING TO USE AND THE SALESPERSON AT THE STORE MADE A SPECIAL RUN TO GET THE MOLDING TRIM THAT DAY FOR THE INSTALLERS TO INCLUDE WITH THE JOB THAT DAY. THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE ENTIRE JOB THAT DAY. I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THE CARE THE INSTALLER TOOK TO GIVE US THE BEST LOOK POSSIBLE.
