They had done some of my smaller closets a couple years ago. This time, I hired them to create and install systems in my walk-in pantry and walk-in master closet (the big ones). The consult with Shaun Verda is always a fun collaboration, followed by pdfs of the drawings to approve and final quotes. They had a special going on: the upgrade special (you get the wood veneers for the white price). I ended up with a cherry wood look in the pantry complete with canned food drawers and a special drawer with dividers for all the packets and small items. The master closet got medium wood look with almond drawer fronts and beautiful hammered copper handles. The installer (one guy) was friendly, efficient, organized and super fast. I must admit that I am a little too excited about my new spaces but I love being organized and I can tell you with certainty from the sale of my last home (that also had California Closet Systems in all the closets) that they add value to your home. Always worth every penny. Responsiveness marked down because I'm not patient once I know what I want and punctuality for bad traffic morning.

Went perfectly. No problems with installation. Everything lined up correctly, all parts fit; no parts missing.
Description of Work: Redid two closets in unused bedroom (our daughter arrived with all her worldly possessions), added more shelving, reconfigured hanging poles, added drawers, including file drawers Did not opt for fancy as we wanted to match the closets previously done by California Closets. This company has been doing our closets since the early 80's and redid the master closets (2001) when my husband acquired one too many business suits and three too many pairs of shoes.

Beautiful job. Exactly what we wanted. Great design. A bit pricey. We used them through Costco which gives a percentage of cost back in a Costco cash card. They come to your house, measure your clothes and create a design based on exactly what you have hanging in your closet plus any future plans you tell them about. They interview you about what type of issues you're having. It's very thorough.

We inquired California Closet to custom design and build walk-in closets for three rooms (master and two smaller rooms). They have a very nice showroom in downtown Bellevue where we can see the finishing and options. The designer came to our house to measure the closets. She was open to come at evening time for our convenience. After the measurement, we scheduled another time to visit the showroom to see her designs and quotes. She made tweaks on the fly as she heard our feedback. Customer service was great. We ended up hiring another company because they were able to come up with designs that include all the advanced features on our wish list with similar cost.

The designer, Janet, came out the day after receiving my email to set up an appointment. She looked at the bins that I wanted to store in the guest room closet, as well as other closets in the house previously done by California Closets. She listened to my concerns about the closet being functional for my storage purposes as well as for guests, and also made sure it could be easily adjusted for more hanging space if necessary in the future. She asked if I wanted time to paint after removal of the old closet, which I declined, knowing from previous experiences that it would be visible where the old shelves were. She measured my bin sizes and the closet, then sat down at her computer, and soon up with the perfect plan, along with the cost. I paid half that cost to start the process. Janet was very nice to work with. She said she would email the next day with with an install date. When I didn't get that email, I emailed her, and she immediately resent the email which my spam filter had perhaps swallowed, and requested confirmation that I received it. This included the picture of the closet plan for confirmation and the install date. She had arranged for me my ideal date the following week for the install. My install window for start time was 1-2pm. I got home around 11:30 and at about noon, the installer, Ron, called and said he was running a bit ahead of schedule, would it be okay to come early? I was delighted! He showed up, looked at the project and went straight to work. In a bit over an hour it was done. He was professional, polite, and pleasant. The rest of the bill would be taken care of at the office, and it was done. I don't know why I didn't do it sooner! I am delighted with my closet, and as Janet planned, all of my bins fit beautifully, with room for guests, all in a relatively small closet!

California Closets was one of 3 companies we had out to my house to bid a job for custom closet and pantry design. While we did not choose to do business with California Closets, it was not by any fault of the company or the representative that came to our house, Hannah. The bids we received were literally within pennies of each other, so it was not about price. Simply put, we opted to go with the company that we felt was more local so we could support locally-owned business yet still have a reliable warranty on the product/installation. It wasn't until after we contracted with another company and we called Hannah to notify her that we would not go with California Closets, that we learned this branch is locally-owned. That might have made a difference if we understood that upfront. The designs they provided were great and pricing was on par with other companies. It helped that California Closets is currently running a special that any finish would be the same cost as white, otherwise they would've priced a few hundred dollars higher. We'd be willing to have California Closets bid for future projects on our home if the opportunity arises.

This was a realatively simple installation in a single closet. However the installer gave it every bit if good workmanship as I would expect in a larger project. Installation was on time, like to the minutes when the installation was planned. He was careful to protect surfaces and carpet from any dust and dirt from the installation. The quality of assembly and materials is excellent. Comparing it to another closet installation/redo in the same house you can see the difference in the materials. This installation included some large and quot;Xand quot; cubes for wine storage, some drawers, shelving around the drawers and wine storage with enough room left for some hanging racks of two levels and a smaller space for some longer clothes, all this while trying not to block a crawl space access door in the back rear of the closet. Done, on time, on budget, and high quality. Installer cleaned up any loose dust and dirt and was gone before I expected. I would definitely recommend that California Closets need to be considered if you want quality installation of storage whether it's a closet or kitchen or other room they will have a solution that works I'm sure.
Description of Work: The service was an installation of a closet and storage replacing a wire rack closet organizer that pulled itself loose of the mount points. The installation was subsequent to an office stop and an on site appraisal by the account representative giving suggestions and assessment of a recommended solution. It would have been cheaper to just patch the holes and replace the same junk that was already there, but this solution with California Closets was by far the best solution. There are no doubt cheaper solutions like replacing the wire racks that pulled out of the drywall, but nothing will be as well done or well made.

We have had California Closets do multiple projects in our new home and have been so impressed with the outstanding work and quality of partnership. Our rep, Susan, has a gift for hearing what we want and helping us solve problems in normal spaces -- like our master walk-in which I adore - and harder-to-solve problems -- like our boys room which had been a bonus room with no closet. Now, that room has what looks like a gorgeous built-in multipurpose unit with toy storage, closets for both boys and a full media center. You would never believe it wasn't a 25,000 custom built-in when in fact we spent about 7k on it. We continue to use Susan for more and more projects including an upcoming laundry room install and a garage install. We are beyond thrilled.

They did a descent job. Their workers were very professional, clean and courteous. They were always on time. when there was something wrong they went ahead and fixed it. There was one part that had to be replaced and the salesman wanted to keep it as it was. They are a fine company, you just have to insist on what you ordered in order to get it.

Installation was delayed two weeks due to one of our chosen woods not being in stock. Though they did explain fully the reason for the delay and worked to find a good date to install the unit. Installation specialist was extremely courteous and responsive to my feedback. When it was approx 1/3 installed I noticed the boards were not lining up along the edges causing uneven seams. I requested it be redone so that the joins/seams were flat. He agreed and proceeded to take most of it apart and reassemble so it fit better. He did comment that they are used to and quot;just slamming them inand quot; and most people arent that particular about how even the joins are. Overall we are happy enough with the quality of the installation. Several gouges in the surrounding walls occurred during the installation that I think were avoidable. We will have to repaint that section. Also I had to request additional scribe (lengths of trim) be delivered to cover the small gaps between the unit and the walls. In general we got what we paid for and are happy. The quality is about one step above Ikea and about double the cost but less pricey than true custom cabinets. DO: Supervise the installation process to ensure a correct and tight fit. Run your finger over the seams and dont accept uneven joins. There are things they can do to get a better fit. DO: Ask for discounts and specials. You CAN negotiate the price they quote after they apply any and quot;discountsand quot;. Like a car salesman, they will go lower to obtain your business. DO: Visit the showroom if possible to see how the wood looks. The tiny 3x3 sample boards are not always enough to make a decision with if its going someplace highly visible. DO NOT: Think of it as true and quot;customand quot; cabinets. It is a solid entry between the pre-sized units from Ikea and true built-on-the-spot custom units made of hardwood. KNOW: That the in-house and quot;design consultantand quot; is actually an independent contractor paid by commission depending on how much you spend. KNOW: The installation specialist is also an independent contractor paid by the job and therefore might rush in order to get to the other job of the day or to go home.
Description of Work: Media wall installation consisting of a large open area for the flatscreen television with bookcases on each side and cabinet below. The wood is a pressboard with a laminate coating to look like wood. It is pre-cut and the unit is assembled onsite by the installation specialist.

I am very happy with them They are very professional company and use quality materials in their closets
Description of Work: I had 5 large closet interiors built for my ranch style home. the access doors were sliding and this caused a challenge to make all interior closet space function. Cathy M visited my home, did measurements and created a diagram of the work areas. The contract was clear. She did a great job for me (although her master bedroom clothes closet ideas differed from mine but we worked it out) The installer came out not long after we signed contract and neatly put them in - an all day job.

We left a request for contact via the CC website and had a response in 48 hours. The appointment was scheduled just a few days later and, while it was long (about 3 hours) we didn't feel there was wasted time. Our consultant, Jason, had to turn our ideas into reality and with the help of some cool software he has on his laptop, we could walk through the evolution of our ideas in 3D. Installation was scheudled about a week later and the installer did a great job. This was a first rate job from start to finish and we love the final product.
Description of Work: We replaced a collection of heavy and bulky furniture in our home office with workspace, file drawers and bookcases. The new unit gives my wife and I each a workspace and holds more books than before while taking up far less space in the room. We had CC do some shelves in our garage a year ago and were pleased with that project, so we had them back to take our vague ideas of what we wanted and turn it into reality. The materials are first rate, and I was really pleased with the cord management option which makes all the power cords and connectors for my computer a snap to install and service.
