Customers be aware that their 10-year-warranty is a joke. They blame the poor installation job on anything to avoid the responsibility for warranty repair. For example, they first blamed it on poor quality of the slabs we chose and then they blamed it on ground movement. We hired this company to built a patio in 2018. The business owner was very reassuring and confident during consultation that if they do the job the slabs will not sink. The crew forgot to turn off the water and left the water running overnight. The next day when they came back to finish the job they just wanted to rush and finish up. They did not fix the issue with the uneven slabs. The 2'x2' vancouver bay slabs started to sink more and more. We infomed them that the sinking slabs are getting worse. It took them 2 months to come back to repair it. When we let Jodelle (the business manager the time) know of this matter, she had the entitled attitude telling us that they will charge us for any future repairs. She thinks she did us a favor by coming back 2 months after installation to fix a poorly installed patio. Long story short, the repair did not last long and after a few rains, the slabs sunk further and became more uneven because they filled up the base with a lot of the existing dirt (loam soil) that was already there. This is why the patio kept getting worse.

The project went well and the result was excellent. Wesley was very helpful with the concept and design. His crew worked really hard and quickly to finish the job about half a day ahead of schedule. We are extremely happy with the result and wouldn't hesitate to use this outfit again.

We had to cancel our contract with over 2 months notice (on June 13 with our scheduled start date in early to mid September because they are so busy). The refused to return our deposit of $4800. Their work looks good online, but read the fine print in the contract. Total BS to pay $4800 because they may not be able to schedule a client, despite the fact we are two months out.

We had a few hiccups but overall, I would use and recommend them again. They did a big job for us removing the old concrete pool deck and patio and installing a beautiful paver patio. They also removed the old waterline tile and coping and installed new coping. They removed railroad tie retaining wall and installed a paver retaining wall. We had some hiccups with diving board and stair reinstallation, but all in all, I would recommend them.

The patio looks awesome, and was done very quickly. They also made some corrections in mismatched stone colour and attempted to fix a drainage issue, with no additional charge. The drainage issue is not fully resolved tho and water is still collecting 1-2 inches of water that stands for days at a time. We are waiting to see how they handle this. I'll report back to this review once these are resolved. Hoping it's handled promptly and professionally

we couldn't have been more pleased with Aguiar pavers and their hard working crew. they worked so fast and efficiently they were impressive to watch. they started on a Wednesday with demo and finished the following Wednesday night. the project had some minor changes at my request and they were happy to accommodate. I made preparations to lay conduit for irrigation, gas and electrical in advance. it's important that you be present during the process in case you need to change the design. I had them level out an area for my hot tub while still providing slope for drainage on the surrounding area. they cleaned up the site well. I'd suggest this group if you are considering a paving project. they do excellent work.

bFantastic! I have done a lot of remodeling work on this property and this was the most pleasant experience with a contractor I have ever had. When we requested a bid for service the owner of the company came by our home right away and right on time and surveyed the property. He came up with several ideas that provide improvements we hadn't thought of and have been great additions to the property - all of which were done at no extra cost. The bid was significantly lower than competing bids I received. The owner invited me to come to his showroom in Bellevue to pick out materials so I didn't have to choose the pavers based on pictures in a catalog but could actually see the materials being proposed. Work was scheduled around our needs and began right on time. The crews were professional and friendly and really hustled. They didn't just work hard they worked with obvious energy and pride. Most days the owner was on-site and supervised. As the job was finishing up there were a few things where I thought revisions were required. We asked for the perimeter to be revised in one area to accommodate easier storage of our waste bins. We also requested a revision to the front stoop. Even though the work had already been done on both of these areas, the requests for revisions were pleasantly accepted with "Of course - no problem!" and the work was changed with no additional expense. Although it was never covered in the proposal, after work started I mentioned that I might want to run electrical lines under the pavers. The owner told me he had assumed I might want to do so some time in the future and was going to run conduit under the drive to allow wires to be run later at any time. The owner noticed that our old drive was creating some runoff problems on the side of our house so he proposed a drain and tied it into our downspout drainage system at one corner of the drive. We have had significant rain since the pavers were installed and all our drainage problems have been eliminated. Every day the job-site was left immaculate. The work was completed ahead of schedule and every detail of the work was executed perfectly with great attention to quality and detail. And the final result is even better than I thought it would be. Not only do the pavers look amazing, but the design makes the rest of our landscaping look instantly much nicer. An unexpected result of the work is that the pavers are brighter than the former blacktop so they bounce a lot of light around our lot and make the whole tree covered property much brighter. I am already thinking about hiring this team to make some additional changes to the back of our house. Hire them! You will enjoy the experience and love the results.

I hired Aguiar to replace my old concrete pool deck with pavers. In the process of doing this, they caused a major problem and walked away. Their subcontractors (Gilirani Pavers Plus) punctured the line circulating water to and from the pool, but instead of reporting and fixing the problem, they simply paved it over. Of course, the pool level dropped and the water no longer circulated due to the break in the line. I had to hire a leak detection company (nearly $600) to find the leak, which was located right where Gilirani Pavers had installed a drain, and then a leak repair company to dig all the pavers and fix the leak. This was in June. I finally received compensation from Liberty Mutual Insurance, insurers of Gilirani Pavers Plus, in October. Initially, I repeatedly called Aguiar with messages about the problem with no response. They appear to have all calls routed to voice mail so reaching anyone was impossible. Next, I emailed with a description of the problem they had caused, an outline of what I expected them to do and by when, and a documented invoice for costs incurred to fix their mess. I heard nothing once more, finally going to their insurance company, which denied my claim and sent it to Liberty Mutual Insurance, the insurer of subcontractor, Gilirani Pavers Plus. (See my Angie’s List review of Gilirani Pavers Plus for details of what THAT experience was like.) If you have problems with their work, Aguiar will not step up and take responsibility, they will stonewall you, they will offer neither help nor apology. Your repeated calls to them will not be returned, your e-mails will be ignored. Aguiar’s unprofessional attitude is: “not my problem,” and you’re on your own. They failed to supervise their subs, who somehow thought they could cover up the damage they caused and no one would notice that the water could no longer circulate or the water level was several feet down. They also failed to communicate with and supervise their subcontractors to ensure they did not cover over a skimmer area that I had repeatedly told them should be left open. Since I needed to replace my pool skimmer, I instructed both my Aguiar contact and the crew person who spoke English that the crew should leave a large area around the skimmer open after removing the concrete so that the new skimmer could be installed and then I would make arrangements for them to return to install the pavers. It would be ridiculous to pave over the old skimmer and then tear up the paving almost immediately to install the new one. But the crew paved everything right over. The people who came to install the new skimmer had to tear up all the pavers, leaving a hole for the paving to be replaced. My contact said they would come back to replace the pavers; however Mr. Aguiar, refused, saying to me in person “we’ve done enough for you.” Nothing was done to pave the holes until I filed a claim against them. These people pose as stand-up, professional guys, but do not be deceived. They most decidedly are not.

We hired Aguiar Pavers to do the above described job. We had the owner, Wesley, come out to look at our 150 year old historic tree because that was the main reason why we decided to use pavers for our driveway so that this tree could get the rain water it needed and put a retaining wall around the tree to protect it. We also went to Wesley's office so that we could make sure that he understood how important this tree is to us. He drew a picture of where we wanted the retaining wall and wrote down how many feet away from the tree we wanted the retaining wall to be built. We also told him not to cut any roots unless he or his workers asked us. Wesley stated he knew exactly what we wanted. We gave him almost 99% of the money because we really felt we could trust him and we saw his work. The second day we came home from work, his crew went right up to the tree and cut an 15 inch root and two 12 inch roots. We had arborists come to our home to find out how much damage they did to our tree. They said his worker's killed the tree and it has to come down. It is bigger than the biggest Western White pine in Seattle, being 130 feet high and a Bothell Arborist said that it was one of the oldest trees in Bothell. A one point, Bothell Historical Society wanted to put the tree in their books. When we called Wesley to let him know what happened, he told us that his workers did the and he wasn't responsible. We've had to hire an attorney. Four and a half months later, we have a large mound of dirt in our driveway and a tree that needs to come down. We have been told it will take a crane and at least 2 days. We are also afraid that when it starts raining that his workers went so close to our neighbor's fence at the embankment, that their fence will fall down. We are still hoping to get this settled and never have to see or hear about this company again. Such an ironic situation: Trying to save our 150 year old tree. We will never be able to be made "whole" again and replace this tree, we just hope that he will return our money and at least take down our beautiful old tree. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Aguiar Pavers provided excellent service in all aspects of this project. They provided a very competitive bid, began the job on time, and finished in the prescribed time. The craftmanship is excellent. I watched the job from start to finish and the project was completed according to the contract. Our design called for many curves requiring intricate cuts. The margins are tight and the finished look is excellent. There have been a stream of neighbors comming by telling us how beautiful it looks. The crew was professional and very nice. They were conscientious about our property and my wife's gardens, something I'm grateful for. It was a pleasure to have them work on our property. Before beginning this job, I obtained about 10 bids for asphalt, exposed aggregate concrete, stamped concrete and pavers. Aguiar was the least expensive paver contractor and while the paver job was a little more expensive than the least expensive concrete bid, we believe the value and appearance to be far superior. In our opinion, the exceptional value comes from the fact that pavers will not crack like cement slabs, are replaceable if they get damaged and the look is so much nicer than any of the other methods. I would not hesitate contracting with Aguiar Pavers for any scale in the future

I love my new paver driveway; people ring my doorbell to ask who installed it. It is not a small investment but I love looking at it every day. I met Wesley at the Seattle Home and Garden Show. His workers worked really hard and are superb at what they do. My driveway was previously a bumpy crumbling mess, and now it is perfectly even, and looks breathtaking. I am very happy with my purchase and with the job they did.

They made a 650' patio in our back yard, which is on a slight slope. Im writing this review way after the work was done, but since I was on here writing a review for another company, i figured I should do the same for the other companies ive had do work for me. Wesley was a fantastic guy to work with. He and his crew are very personable guys that did an absolutely amazing job for us. I had received quotes for less work at a higher cost from competitors. I was introduced to Wesley when we pulled the trigger on a artificial turf project and i talked about doing some pavers. He was partnered up with the turf guys and came out right away to look at the project. He gave us the quote for doing his part, and helped with the prep work for the turf. My wife and I are by no means landscape designers and Wesley was very helpful in explaining all our options. With his experience, he really helped us determine what would be the best color/size/pattern/etc. In the end the pavers look fantastic and are holding up perfectly after over a year. Nothing loose or damaged. The 2 guys who were on site doing the work were great. They were very professional and were pleasant to have around. Ive thought about other projects for the back yard and have asked Wesley to come give us a quote. He gave me good advice about what i was thinking and explained why certain ideas wouldnt work and he gave some great suggestions. As it was, my idea turned out to be heckuva lot more work than i was anticipating and I wasnt able to go through with it. Wesleys an honest guy and I wont even bother asking anyone else to come out.

Description of Work: I cannot praise this company highly enough. Without a doubt this has been the most positive home renovation project I have ever had. The estimate was done quickly and the amount was modest. I accepted their offer and they schedule the work to be done within a couple of weeks or less. They came when they said they would, they stayed as long as they said they would, they did a better job than I had imagined possible. They worked so hard from 8am to 8pm when they were here. They moved the items I couldn't list off the patio and the porch and replaced them when finished. They cleaned up beautifully after they were finished. They even repaired a couple of minor items that really weren't their responsibility. The job is beautiful. The whole experience was without stress and always amazing results.

It is going to take them four more days and so far, it has been good. They are doing fine. They seem intent on making sure that the job is well done. They had to rip off something in the front that we hadn't accounted for and they are talking about how to fix it and make it look good. That was over and above what I had expected but I would have to wait and see if they would follow through. The price is fair, it might even be low; I don't know. As soon as I paid the first half, they scheduled their men to come out and start the project a week later, so they fit me into their schedule right way or they didn't put me off for few months, which was great.

Aguiar Pavers came out and gave me an estimate for the work to be completed. We worked off my measurements, their measurements and a general design of how the retaining walls and patios would look like. The estimator created a very basic diagram of the patios/retaining walls and the work started on time. The crew was made up 2 laborers and 2 excellent masonry workers. The crew started on time and worked steadily till dark. I was extremely impressed with the quality of work the two masonry workers did. They were meticulous in building the retaining walls, steps and pavers. Frankly I was amazed at the time they took to make things level and pleasing to the eye. All blocks and retaining wall caps were motored in and ground compacted for laying of pavers. Some changes were made from my original design to accommodate some unforeseen height of a retaining wall and steps. In summary the work was excellent and saw no short cuts in its construction. I am happy I went with this paving company versus a landscaping compang that does pavers and weed pulling. I did get two other estimates from landscaping companines which were lower, but I belive would have not created the quality of patios Aguiar Pavers did.
Description of Work: Constructed 2 patios - upper and lower (approximatly 850 sqft), 20' x 3' retaining wall, steps joining the 2 patios, a 8' step out the slider to lower patio, 16' x 4' retaining wall with landing and additional steps from upper patio to house grade and an 80' single block and cap oval garden wall around a center island in my back yard which attached to the lower retaining wall. The patios were slightly sloped to handle drainage away from the house, drainage pipe behind the retaining wall and a french drain to handle runoff from patio and roof down spout.

I hired this company based on positive references from two relatives, one of which only had pavers installed and the other who had pavers and a very low retaining wall installed. The first flag went up when the contractor added to the Scope of Work section of the contract and quot;25 yr warranty for sinking and cracking.and quot; That is one of 8 warning signs of a scam according to the Washington Labor and Industries website! I thought it strange and questioned the contractor about it, but since he had already worked for two relatives I just chalked it up to some kind of useless perk at best or a way to distract one from the fine print on the back, which simply stated 2 yrs. for workmanship. I had earlier sent him a 60+ page installation manual from the manufacturer of the blocks and had him write that he was to install the blocks according to that manual (probably the only smart thing I did!). From there it went down hill. One the first day, the contractor wanted a check for $1500 without presenting a work order for additional fees for excavating. It was my fault to not notice the fine print on the contract that indicated I had only signed up to basically have the blocks installed and any movement of dirt except for a shallow trench was extra. A better contractor would have clarified such issues as they would apply to my situation as part of consummating the deal unless they were just trying to get the job knowing there would be extra charges later. I am sure if I had not been on site, the separation of the two walls from each other would not have been done right, since instead of just utilizing the manual as I expected or just knowing what to do, I had to show him how distance between blocks was defined in the manual and make sure the upper wall was indeed installed at that distance. Although I had specified drainage lines behind the wall and connections to an existing catch basin, the contractor talked me out of doing a portion of that drain where the wall was less than 2 ft high, but then just threw dirt behind the wall without any fabric to keep dirt from escaping through the wall onto a sidewalk along the wall! I also caught him not gluing the fittings that connects the drainage sustem to the catch basin. His response was to ask about whether I had glue he could use, i.e. without me there notthing would have been glued! I drove to a hardware store and got the correct primer and glue to make sure I did not have to check that too! Lastly, one of the corners was done all wrong because of bad blocks, but instead of solving that problem with the supplier, he just did a hack job at the corner grinding off parts of the blocks that interlock for stability even though a corner is a very crucial part of any wall structurally especially one 4' high. Then I spent the entire day working with the supplier of the blocks to locate replacements for the corner blocks, which I then required the contractor to get to fix the problem. I was not very happy about Mutual Materials selling bad blocks in the first place either. Then even while the workmen were still cleaning up the area and it was getting dark, he forcefully demanded the second half of the payment that moment. I insisted that I needed a day or two in good light to carefully inspect the job as there were questions about color matching and a number blocks that had fairly large hunks of corners that looked unsightly. It became quite a fight, and the outcome was I canceled a second project that he was supposed to start right away to do pavers along the lower wall. I did so by first paying him and then canceling both checks as a way to avoid more confrontation at that time. All these problems convinced me of two things. First he seemed out of his element to do a wall project correctly as big as this one, especially for someone who was and quot;giving a 25 year warranty.and quot; Secondly, I feel all the problems described above are the classic descriptions of a poor contractor who just wants to get his money and run with little if any regard to making his customer happy by doing a careful complete job in the first place. I makes me creepy to think of having him come back and fix any problems that arise in the future! I WOULD AVOID THIS CONTRACTOR AT ALL COSTS!
Description of Work: Installed two terraced segmental block walls just under 4 ft high in some places, the maximum height that can be done in Seattle without a building permit. Specified was a drain system behind each wall that was to be connected to an existing catch basin. The material was Pisa2 purchased by the contractor from Mutual Materials in Bellevue.
