+ -1 moreBrant Rude of Root's Inc. and Moldeaters had to remove the shower pan, 2 rows of tile, the curb and replace the rotted section of the sub floor. He did an excellent job for a cost of $3800. We sent a letter to S & R with photos of the rot and damage asking them to take responsibility for the repair since they did not construct the shower pan properly. I declined to have S & R do the repair based on my previous experience with them. We were willing to discuss the cost with them. Instead we received a rather threatening letter from their lawyer. Case closed. I do not recommend doing business with S & R Flooring.
Description of Work: In 2003 our general contractor asked me to work with S & R Floorcovering for installing tile, flooring, and carpet in our new house at a cost of $22,000. About half way through the work, I had to do a lot of follow up to get the workmen to come back and take care of unsatisfactory work. The issues were finally resolved, but I did not enjoy working the them. Fast forward to 2008: We started seeing subtle changes in the flooring outside the custom shower stall. The tiles on the outside curb broke away from the grout. I could see no gaps in the grout on the inside of the shower floor where it gets wet. At the recommendation of a friend I called Root's Inc. to investigate. He found rot and mold under the tile and no evidence of the recommended heavy waterproof membrane that is standard. It appeared that water had been leaking through the shower floor long before any any sign of trouble on the outside.

Description of Work: S&R Floor Covering installed underlayment and vinyl flooring in my new art studio as well as installing formica countertop. Their prices were much better than either bid I got from Portland companies I'd used before.

+ 0 moreTHEY DID NOT DO A VERY GOOD JOB LAYING THE TILE ON MOST OF THE COUNTERS. THE TILES ARE UNEVEN IN THE KITCHEN AND THE GROUT IS UNEVEN IN ONE OF THE BATHROOMS. THEY DID THE BEST JOB IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM WHERE IT IS THE LEAST VISIBLE.
Description of Work: WE ORDERED, AND HAD THEM INSTALL, THE COUNTERTOPS IN OUR KITCHEN AND BATHROOMS.
