Guy Cavagna responded quickly to a phone call for an estimate. He provided detailed description of what would be done. We had selected a darker color than the original color in the estimate so it was more expensive than the original quote. He did not give us the cheapest bid, but his attention to detail, work ethic and protecting the plants around the house was amazing. He also gave us good advice on refinishing our garage door and cedar deck railing. We were very impressed with the crew and the results. We will use them for future interior projects.

Guy (the owner) and his entire crew have a great work ethic. Every single thing that has been done on this house was done to PERFECTION. He has incredible attention to detail, always smiling and happy to help move something, or put something back. There are very few craftsmen out there who work with the pride and satisfaction of seeing the job done beautifully. Come by and see our house, or use us for references ANY TIME..

I had received several quotes for painting our home from painters that I selected via Angie's list. Guy, the owner of A.P.E Painting, quickly responded to my request for a quote. Several other painters took weeks to respond.. Guy's quote was competitive and he detailed out all of the work he would perform. Once I selected APE for the job I was pace on their schedule. Within a couple of weeks they first scheduled a day to pressure wash the entire home. Then over the next two weeks (we had several rain delays) the APE team caulked, primed the repainted my house. The results look great, Guy and his team are professional and easy to work with. They were very good about communicating. If I ever need to hire a painter again I will use them.

Guy did a fantastic job. He came over on Tuesday, gave me his quote and was at my house 8 am sharp 2 days later with 2 other painters. They did a perfect job. My walls look brand new! Our ceilings are 18 feet high, so this is a job that we did not want to attempt. Gus is very friendly and gives you extra pointers on home improvements and he even helped get on my roof and put moss removal on it! Great service! Highly recommend. I will be calling him in the future for more work!

Guy is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and always professional. Both my husband and I liked him immediately when he came to give the estimate. The crew was timely and cleaned up after themselves. When I pointed out a couple minor things that needed attention, Guy took care of them himself. We will definitely hire him again for other painting needs.

He was always on time, very early in the morning. One day he got rained out and he went home, but as soon as the sun came out, he was right back out here! The prices were the lowest and incredibly fair. He goes above and beyond your expectations. He knows what he's doing and he knows the paint. The workmanship is great and people have even complimented the paint job! He was a fabulous person and a very hard worker. I would recommend him to anybody!

Guy provided an estimate for the work and once we were ready to proceed we called to schedule the job. They showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and the finished job looks amazing. We have bull nose corners and a vaulted ceiling and Guy took the time to make sure we were happy with the line where the wall rolls into the vaulted ceiling. He did a very good job touching up everything and the tape lines around the mill work look fabulous.

They were very professional

Guy is very personable and definitely a people person. He and his helper were able to find a day in late October when the weather cooperated. They worked fast and efficiently and the results look great. Our only criticism is in regard to cleanup. There are remnants of the old scraped paint and new coats all along the side of our home and in our driveway. They did not put back the items they had parted from the side of the house. They left some of their wipe cloths. Other than that, all was very good!

Our house was in poor shape, plus we have T 111 siding which is not easy to paint. They didn't just paint it for us, they prepared it, washing it and doing a complete base coating, then the paint. But kept adding paint until it didn't need it any more. We got a senior discount plus a 30 year warranty on labor and materials.

Guy is the best communicator I’ve seen in a long time. Enthusiastic, professional, and a great listener. Also a great observer offering seemingly valuable strategic insight we took. He claims he has personally developed some impressive, time-tested painting techniques for endurance in our demanding climate. Creative problem-solving that convinced us to try! August 28 he and his partner spent an efficient day doing exterior trim on our house, with full unique prep coating. Immediate results and cleanup were super. This was a simpler job (on high ladders) in optimal weather, but I’d call A.P.E. in a heartbeat for any related work. Exceptional yield from a truly approachable, pleasant optimist. How refreshing. Don't know how to comment on this since it was the first time I had ever done this. He was very leery of having to work over the top of lead-based paint--perhaps rightly so.

They were very good. They came in and painted one day. It was raining so they waited till it quit raining and came back and got everything done. Their friendliness was great and it was a very good experience.

The company owner was very friendly and professional. They had a difficult challenge preparing our house for painting because of some peeling issues and moisture problems. Fortunately the weather cooperated and the job moved along well. The prep work was done with great care and therefore the paint job looks great. I would definitely use this company again.

I am quite pleased with the exterior painting that Guy and his workers did on our house. They were punctual, thorough and complete from their masking to their clean-up. They accidentally broke an exterior light fixture which I didn't know about. Guy mentioned it right away and bought a replacement which was better than the original. They completed the job in three days. I did a walk-around after completion and found nothing that needed redoing. The warranty that Guy gave on the job is superb with 10 yr labor and 30 year product. This is one of the reasons along with Guy's cheerful and optimistic personality that we went with A.P.E. Great job all around!

Ours is a new property and he did everything. The price was very competitive. He is going to do exterior painting in the spring.

Contacted A.P.E. repaint, got a bid. Decide to go with them. They started and finished on time and in budget. Guy was very knowledgeable and helpful. The house looks great. Would use again. Satisfied customers.

I contacted Guy by phone and explained the problem with our front door and side panels. The door is an expensive door with leaded glass panels. I was told at the paint store that the door would have to be stripped to remove the varnish and the latex paint that was over the varnish. Guy was informative over the phone and was willing to evaluate the problem and see if another alternative to stripping was possible. He came promptly to our house at the agreed time and offered a solution to a difficult problem. The previous paint job was done poorly with heavy visible brush stokes and was peeling. I subsequently scheduled Guy to paint the door and he came at the scheduled day right on time. He completed the door and panels with a superb result considering the condition of the door. I only wish I had been able to use Guy's services when we built our house. I highly recommend Guy for all your painting needs.

Guy is the owner of A.P.E. Painting and he was also working on the job the entire time. He was prompt in providing an estimate for the job. He went over all details and options and we did a walk around so we totally understood the scope of the proposal. Within three weeks (as promised) they powerwashed the house and then two weeks later, scraping, priming and painting began. Guy and Jack (both with extensive painting experience) worked super well together with a fantastic teamwork approach. They were extremely easy to talk to and always portrayed a "service the customer and make it right " attitude. They worked hard for four and one half straight days to completion and were meticulus in their work. No profanity, no arguments---very refreshing these days!! We couldn't have been happier with their work from start to finish and the outcome was fantastic.. If you want a professional job at a competitive price, I highly recommend A.P.E Painting.

After getting several estimates, we chose Guy and his company, A.P.E. Painting, to give our house a "face lift." He pointed out some problem areas and told us how he would deal with them. His crew first did a thorough pressure-washing and when the weather improved, the scraping began. For some reason, the south-facing side was more difficult to scrape. We have a two-story house with dormer windows, so there were more areas to deal with than usual. Guy was able to correct mistakes made on previous paint jobs too. Since we have cedar siding, an oil-based primer was essential, but a latex type had been used before. We had to have some structural repairs done during this whole process, but Guy was able to work around that area. The windows, doors and brick trim were all masked properly before any painting began. Tarps were stretched all around the base of the house and walkways for more protection. All of the windows, doors and trim were caulked and when the paint was applied, they used a sprayer and rollers too, to ensure a good covering. The trim was all applied by brush and all of the debris was collected and carted away. We are so happy with the job done by A.P.E. Painting! Guy was great to deal with and he was here every day, on the job with his crew. It wasn't easy, and involved lots of ladders and climbing on our steep roof! He even got some special paint to cover a balcony floor that needed painting. And we are very pleased with his choice of satin-finish paint for our home. It absolutely gleams! We would definitely recommend their services.
