I called Guy and he came out the same day to take a look at the house. He was busy and it was going to be the end of the outdoor painting season. I was having work done on the outside of my house like window trim and siding. It was a real juggling act to get all the work done so the painters could come and paint. First Guy's crew came and pressure washed the house and did caulking of seams. I painted the house the same color and Guy did a great job matching the brand of paint he uses with the sample paint strips I had. I had the house painted twice and also had the front door painted.. I had the crew paint the foundation too. The crew were all very pleasant and on time every day. They made sure that nothing was left on the ground and checked their clean up around the house.

It didn't. He never followed through nor did he get back to me.

This company was extremely responsive right from the beginning. My call was answered right away and Guy came right out to give us a bid. He explained what paint would be used, and why they preferred to us that brand, as it didn't fade, chip or bubble as some others might. He did give us the choice to use another brand if we wanted to, however. He looked over all exterior surfaces and gave us a run down on how they would be treated: after pressure washing, all areas would be caulked, anything that needed priming would be done, and there would be two coats of spray plus a roller would be used to put paint into the rough surfaces on the T-111 siding areas. He strongly suggested that we get and apply samples of the colors we thought we wanted, as sometimes things don't look they way you expect them to. Good idea! Throughout the process, we really appreciated the advice of these experienced painters. The appointed day came, and as promised, a crew of 5, all older experienced painters, showed up right on time. They worked so well together, and so efficiently, coordinating all the processes necessary and moving with amazing speed. Everything we were promised in terms of quality was delivered, from being sure the zucchini plants were not stepped on to the number of coats of paint. They were finished, everything cleaned up, and any touchups done carefully far sooner than we expected. The house looks great and we are really happy that we chose this firm!

Guy was knowledge, responsive, and very customer service oriented. He also helped me contact a construction company to get some wood work done on the face of my home in advance of the paint job. I am very pleased with the result and would recommend and use A.P.E painting in the future.

Guy and his crew were amazing. They were at our house every morning sharply at 8am and were professional and clean! The same crew should up everyday which was nice for us. Very approachable and were able to answer all of our questions. They helped us mover our extraordinarily heavy patio furniture and umbrella OFF of the deck prior to them starting any power washing and/or sealing. Our decks look brand new and are actually quite beautiful now!!! The crew helped put back all of the patio furniture after their work was completed. TOTAL BONUS!!!!!! Our house was not easy to paint. it is 3 stories and has very little flat ground for the guys to work from. They worked together as a crew and got the job done on time and right on budget. The attention to detail was second to none. The crew was here almost 10 hours a day and everyone left together at night. I would highly recommend A.P.E. Painting!!!

From the start Guy was "on it." He called me immediately after I had emailed a request for a bid, scheduled a convenient time to meet, and gave me a very competitive bid on the spot. His crew made great use of time, pressure washing the house while we were waiting for some exterior repairs to be made before painting. He watched the weather closely to ensure the optimal painting window, and the paint job was gorgeous. He called to make sure we were happy, and did a post-paint walk around with us to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. Throughout, his concerns for customer satisfaction were evident, and his efficient use of time is truly impressive. His team was great, and very concerned that all items outside were protected from any spray. We looked for a long time for a great painter, and I am so happy we found A.P.E.!!

These guys are no joke! Guy responded to my request for a project bid very quickly and did a thorough job explaining what was included in his price structure. After we compared a few different companies we decided to go with Guy and A.P.E. because of a "gut" feeling - his price was in the ballpark of one of our other quotes, but we had a good feeling about him. Guy and his crew showed up at the scheduled time and date. They were professional and courteous to us through the entire process. They cleaned, prepped and painted our house and shed all within a few days and were extremely detail oriented. They worked really hard and are a company that we will definitely work with again in the future. Highly, highly recommend!

This man is the real deal; a dream contractor who does what he says he's going to do. A true professional. Guy showed up the same day I called. He analyzed the magnitude of the job and provided a written quote, on the spot. I approved the job as per the quote and was put on his schedule. He started the job, with his crew, in July and finished 3 days later. They were punctual, very detail oriented, professional and CLEAN. In September my Hardy plank siding was failing in spots. There was some peeling high above the first roofline where the siding was sloughing off. Even though this was not A.P.E's fault, Guy approved a patch of the siding and a repaint of those peeling areas without additional charge.

Amazingly wonderful..... Very detailed oriented, the house was completely painted in two day. They took the time cover all my flower bed and the patio cover. We had zero over spray. I would highly recommend A. P. E. Painting, as a matter of fact, they are coming to paint the inside of the house in two weeks.

Showed up on Monday to give a bid. Started the next morning bright and early and was finished by Friday afternoon. Did a great job with painting the whole house minus ceilings. Had 8 different colors to apply and hand rolled 2 coats on everything. No paint on floors or ceilings. Very friendly and paid close attention to detail. Will use them again the next time I need a paint job on the house.

Did excellent job in both cases. He has an excellent crew. Talked me into using Roddas top rated paint, glad I did. It turned out great. Owner is fair and reasonable. I would use him again. Highly recommend.

Guy with APE Painting is a true professional...punctual, knowledgeable, courteous, and accessible. His crew did an excellent job with prep, paint, and clean-up. I got three quotes for the job, and APE was right in the middle. Certainly worth the investment.

They did a great job a little delay to rain were on time every day we would not heeslate using him again.

I have extremely high ceilings and 2 story walls in my house ; a daunting task and one that I thought would take much longer than it did, but yet APE Painting still achieved quality results in just 3 days. Guy promptly returned all calls and emails. For the quote, he did a thorough inspection and gave me different options and price points. Guy and his team were thorough in their prep and painting. I had some paint samples on a wall that they had to work on erasing as well as some difficult patch/caulking work on the 20 ft high ceiling. Once the caulking/prep was complete, they used the sprayer to paint all the ceilings day 1, then days 2 and 3 they rolled all the walls including a feature wall in my living room. My only "complaints" and they are very small are; I am still missing some light switch covers and I wish my four poster bed had been covered a little better as I had to remove some paint drips and paint particles from it. Overall though, an excellent job. Guy and his team really know their craft . I would hire them again with no hesitation.

The whole process went smoothly. Guy was prompt in returning calls, attentive to our needs and easy to get along with. He and his crew completed the job very quickly - in just over two days! He did not require a deposit and made sure to do a thorough walk-through prior to requesting payment. His bid was not the lowest we had, but we chose him based on other Angie's List reviews, and because quality and professionalism are worth a little more money in my opinion. We would not hesitate to use APE Painting for future projects.

There were a few problems caused by me, like cleaning the surface with 409 instead of TSP and this caused some fish eye to occure. We needed the job done asap any Gus was able to accommodate our schedule. Gus and his crew were fast, efficient, and the nicest people to meet and work with.

A.P.E. - Guy has worked closely with the contractor who just did siding and window replacement on the back wall of our house. Based on that and his excellent reviews on Angies List, I asked him to quote repainting that wall. Guy came out the next day and quoted the job. I expressed my concern with painting so late in the year. He explained that we would need to wait for a weather window to do the work. He also spent some time to explain about how paint reacts with cold or wet weather. I was impressed with his technical knowledge. We also had to allow ample time for the polyurethane caulk to fully cure. Over the next few weeks we were in almost daily contact as the weather guessers changed the forecast hourly. Finally the break came. Guy and his helper showed up at the expected time and got right to work. The job went quickly and was complete by the end of the day. The quality of the work is excellent. There are no overlap marks or overspray. The wall and trim looks great and I'm very satisfied. Guy was very easy to work with and communicates well from start to finish. I recommend A.P.E. highly.

Guy was responsive from the very first call. He kept us informed on the timeline for doing the work. He and his assistant arrived on time on the date we had agreed upon. They carefully taped all the surrounding woodwork and covered the floors and carpets. The cut-ins were done meticulously where the walls met the ceiling and the contrasting walls. The paint covered in one coat. They went over all the walls with us to make sure that there were no stray unpainted areas or any drips. They worked very efficiently. Guy was very easy to work with, friendly, knowledgeable, unhurried and obviously takes great pride in his work. We are delighted with the results.

I never got a response to my request for painting my kitchen.

It went well. It was over the estimate, due to the number of paint colors and the amount of spackling and repairs needed. Guy estimated that it would take 3 days, and it took 4, plus several hours of touch up after the flooring installation. The work crew was a pleasure to have in the house, very professional and personable. The house looks brand new! The work was delivered on time and beautifully done. We have an estimate to have the exterior painted in the spring. I highly recommend APE painting.

We phoned Guy in mid-September asking for a quote on painting our two story home out in rural Yacolt. We were pleased that he came out the next day and viewed the job and gave us his quote immediately. We told him we would call within the next day or so. After discussing his price and professionalism (he offered many suggestions and recommendations my husband and I had not thought of), we phoned Guy back the next morning and confirmed the project cost and timing. He confirmed all and expressed his concern about the upcoming bad weather (rain was scheduled for the next few weeks) and committed to putting us on top of his available schedule expressing concern as we had 'bare' wood and he didn't want to see it 'sit' over the winter. The Portland/Vancouver area was hit with torrential rain over the next few weeks, but Guy kept us informed about his availability and was finally able to start. He and his team painted over the weekend and finished on Tuesday (10/15/13). Guy and his team,Emmett, Edgar, and Guy's son, G**** were excellent in their professionalism, enthusiasm, skill and always had a smile on their faces and suggestions for making our home look stunning. We were most happy with the results and would have them back again, whenever needed. We have nothing but an awesome report to submit, thanks Guy and team, you rocked!

On 9/25 Guy came right on time. My back had gone out, so I met Guy outside and told him what needed to be done and quickly went in to lay down. He measured etc and told me that he'd get me a proposal that night or the next day. By 9/30 I still hadn't heard from anyone so I called to see what the problem was. He was on his cell phone and told me that he must have gotten my email address wrong!?!!? Give me a break. he obviously could have called me to get the right email address. I gave it to him again and later that day I got an email from his IPAD with the most unprofessional bid I've ever seen. It was 4 short lines and the quote. I would have been fine after the first goof up if his proposal had been professional, even the next day. But this was so obviously a quick, shoddy "get it done fast" job that I couldn't possibly use him. I use Angie's List for everything I do. I chose A.P.E. Painting based on the high marks he received. But I was terribly disappointed and from all the other reviews, it appears I might have gotten him on a bad day. However, the women in my neighborhood wait until I get something done on my house and then use my recommendation as one of their bids. I couldn't possibly recommend A.P.E. now.
