Window-Ology

I first had Hal over on 3/27/2014 and he helped me pick out the best blinds that would match my place. He was on time and just a great person to deal with. He then came back and installed them on 7/21/2014 and one of the blinds actually had damage on it. Hal reordered the blinds and came back to install is free of charge. I then orders a couple more blinds for the downstairs. Very great to work with! I would recommend. .

Hal was professional and responsive from beginning to end. He came out twice to my house to consult, as I wasn't sure about some of the window treatments we had initially selected. Hal was extremely knowledgeable and listened to what I wanted to achieve in the different rooms with the window treatments. He provided good recommendations based on my needs and also gave great input about colors and different types of treatments. Hal was never pushy and was good about suggesting alternatives to the higher end Hunter Douglas blinds. I ended up going with a combination of Hunter Douglas and less expensive treatments, depending on my priorities. Hal communicated efficiently with me either by phone or email throughout the process. He installed all of the window treatments himself and did so quickly and carefully. I was so impressed at the care he took: removing his shoes, having the legs of his ladder padded, and placing the ends of window treatments on top of his foot instead of on my hardwood floors. He has great attention to detail. I got estimates from 2 other companies and was not nearly as impressed with their input and professionalism as I was with Hal and Window-ology. I love my window treatments -- they have improved the atmosphere and natural lighting of my home tremendously. The only thing I might reconsider in the future is having cords on my top-down honeycomb shades instead of cordless -- I am a little short to reach the top of the shades, having to stand on my tiptoes! I believe that Hal would follow up with the same high level of customer service should I have any questions or problems in the future. I would use him again without reservation and have already recommended him to friends.

They showed up promptly, helped me select a shade and then came back a few weeks later with the shade and installed it. It works great and slides open and closed easily.

That was wonderful. The guy who came out was quick and he mounted it right like he said that he would. He had a good quality product and a good price. We bought two deals and he said, "Oh, you are only supposed to buy one," but he stood by the $400 anyway. He was about a month faster than the last service that used. He got the blinds exact. Right when we bought the deal, he set up the installation appointment and he was there right on time.

It was a very challenging installation with difficult access and shades Hal was unfamiliar with. It took him only 5 minutes to figure out how to install them, he did a great job, including some unexpected complications (one was too short). He was pleasant, efficient and very friendly. I would recommend him to anyone.

Hal was very nice and professional. He came out to provide an estimate and was very efficient. The cost estimate for the blind was much more than I had anticipated. I have decided to stay with the current window covering.

I just had Hal come and give me an estimate for Hunter Douglas duette blinds for 5 windows in my home. They are expensive and so I don't know yet what I am going to do. Hal was right on time, very professional and very nice person to work with. I told him I would let him know when I make a decision. Good service.

Hal has a vast knowledge of many different kinds of window coverings. I was looking for a room darkening application for our bedroom. He had several options available, however came up with a solution that was of good quality and at a reasonable price that perfectly fit our needs. He also repaired a Hunter Douglass blind that needed to be re-strung. It took him less than half an hour to hang the new blinds and repair the older ones. We've had the new blinds for a couple of weeks now and are very satisfied. They make the room very dark and are easy to open - both from the top and the bottom.

We met with Hal on April 3rd to get an estimate on the cost of blinds for eight (8) windows. We wanted ones similar to the previous blinds that hung in those windows. He made wonderful suggestions and his estimate came in below our expectation. (The price we expected was based on the total cost of the previous blinds, which were about 10 years old.) Our previous blinds included Hunter Douglas Silhouettes, room-darkening cellular blinds, and fabric slat blinds. Hal suggested a less expensive alternative to the Silhouettes (and they look so similar, you wouldn't know the difference) and a very lightweight faux wood-slat blind instead of the fabric blinds. The installation occurred on April 28th. Hal and his associate got everything installed and the blinds look wonderful and operate easily. We were very happy with the project experience and would recommend Hal and Window-ology.

They have the best customer service in the world. He was not pushy at all and he did not just give us the most expensive options. He brought the coverings out has he got them in and made several trips. He is always on time and is so professional. He is marvelous. I wish everyone I had to work with was like him. He has also come out and restrung one set of blinds at no additional cost to me.

Hal was very knowledgable about the different types of fabrics, their weight, what works best in dining areas and current designs. He had a vast array of fabrics which overwhelmed me. Hal remained patient and was very helpful in helping me narrow my choices. He listened to my ideas, helped me coordinate drapery and cornice fabric, and make a final choice. A sample of the cornice fabric was sent to me which confirmed my fabric selection. Hal arrived on time, kept in contact by email and very professional in providing his service. The installation was very quick and efficient. The furniture was protected and moved carefully. In all, this was a very rewarding experience and the installation and staff were superior. I would definitely use Window-ology again.

He was totally outstanding. He was awesome. He is a little high on price but for the work he did it was worth every dime of it so I would be satisfied all the way.

I can't remember exactly what the big deal was (I think I paid $100 for 200 worth of blinds). I had great color and style choices to pick from. The owner (I'm sorry I forget his name.) wrote out 2 estimates for me: one for 2 bedrooms, and a 2nd for just one bedroom so that I had a lower option to consider. Due to budget constraints, I chose to order blinds for just one bedroom --4 windows. I am always shocked at how much blinds cost. Window-ology prices came in lower than Seattle Design's (who I had a big deal with, and I used them for my living room); however, I just ordered 2 blinds for my 2nd bedroom from Penney's (with a 15% discount)--and they came in about $75 less than Window-ology. Though it actually ends up being even because Penney would charge me $75 to install, and Window-ology's bid included installation. The blinds arrived later than originally scheduled, but we were easily able to schedule a new install time. Installation was quick, professional, and all clean up was taken care of. I enjoyed working with Window-ology. I would use them again.

Very easy and professional company to work with. I ordered wooden indoor shutters, which are rather expensive. I got an estimate for the window plus estimates for potential future jobs. I will save up for future products. It took a number of weeks to build, but they are lovely and worth the price. I got a discount through Angie's list to try them out. Very happy with the shutters.

We got a Angie's Big Deal for blinds. The price of the blinds seemed very steep to us for the bottom quality materials. We ordered four double-celled and two single-celled that go down top down/bottom up for $1,100. When Window-ology came out he did not have material samples so he ordered some which we received in the mail. We then sent him an email confirming the color (cheapest white) and the double cell. When he came out he installed the 6 blinds but he did not measure right the first time and one on the four was too short so he put another order in. When my wife got home she noticed the four blinds that were supposed to be double-cell where single cell. We called Hal back and told him and he had to re-order once again. I requested that he not cash the check until the blinds were installed and he honored my request. The blinds were finally installed in mid-January. The blinds look nice. We are applying the low rating due to expense mixed with lack of attention to detail and the time we had to wait to get the blinds.

All went very well and looks great

We called, he came out, gave an estimate, it looked pretty fair. It was two weeks from estimate to install, which is excellent considering all of this was custom work. Very professional install. We just called him again, we would like to put in some roll down shutters.

We wanted motorized blinds on 3 upstairs hallway windows (cathedral ceiling). Hal (Ryerson) called for an appointment and arrived at the pre-arranged date and time. We were immediately impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. He helped us pick just the right blinds for our windows, in just the right material and color. He gave us a delivery/install date and was right on the money. The installation was quick and clean, the blinds look wonderful and work great. Since the windows are too high to reach, the motorization via remote control is exactly what we needed. We paid ~$1,700 for the blinds (Hunter Douglas), |2 remotes and installation, which isn't cheap but well worth the money, given the quality of the product and service. We would definitely call Hal again for future needs.

I called them in the beginning and they were very busy, and now I've decided I'm just not going to have it done.

Hal is very knowledgable and was able to take care of all my requests. I would definitely purchase products/services from him again!

The blinds look and work great. It is hard for me to say how the price was because we really didn't shop around. We saw the Angie's List Big Deal and knew we wanted to get blinds for the windows, so we bought the big deal, then bought about $1,100 additional in blinds beyond the Big Deal.

I bought a Big Deal for window coverings. They insulate much better than previous window coverings, look great and function as promised. I'd call Hal again.

I had a great experience. He came and measured everything then he came again on the day he said he was going to, in fact he was a little early, he called to make sure that I was home. It took him about 20 minutes. They're fine. I like them a lot. I had a very positive experience. It was very fast and efficient.

I ordered 3 wooden 2" blinds for my bedroom. Hal(owner) measured and had good color sense in guiding me to choose what shade of blinds to pick. There was a fast turn around from when I placed order and date of installation. Looks great and updates look of the room.
