Nielsen Bros of Auburn gets an A+ from our family. They sent 2 employees Allen and his dad. After the first day Allen worked alone. Not enough words to describe how diligently he worked. He came totally prepared to work each day. He was always pleasant, informed us right away if there was a question and I don’t think he ever took a break. It was a big job but his work shows that he never cut corners. Nielsen Brothers, you sent us an excellent worker who represents your store!!! They gave us a free upgraded nice padding. The carpet was already on sale but that weekend, they were having this kind of closed door sale. They told us that our carpets are already discounted and we're probably not getting anything more. I called back that weekend and they ended up giving me even a better deal. I absolutely would use them in the future. There was only one slight problem but it was rectified. We had told them that we wanted the closets downstairs to be done and they didn't do that. They didn't leave us the remnants for us to put it down ourselves. We did call them and after a few back and forth phone calls, they did come back out and put it in.

They came out to measure and sent us a quote. It needed to be corrected. We never received the new quote. We then called back twice. No one answered and no one ever followed up on our needs. This was a month ago.

I went to Nielsen Bros got one of their sales. I'm not really sure if I got a deal or not because even though it was a sale, I feel like they were a little pricey for what I was getting. I decided to go with them anyway because of their reputation. The salesman was OK, and he did help me select a tile that would not clash with my countertops. The best part of my entire purchase was the installation. Petr did an awesome job. He was on time, worked very hard throughout the entire day, and was a perfectionist! My bathrooms look beautiful. He does all types of flooring, and if I need more flooring done, I will ask for Petr. On a personal note: I did wonder why they didn't send two installers - 3 bathrooms with lots of odd shapes is kind of a daunting job for one person. But he plowed through the job and I'm very pleased!

The entire process went very smoothly, from the moment I walked into the showroom in Auburn I was greeted in a friendly manner. I told the manager that I was looking for Mohawk Smart Strand carpet and he led me over to the samples. The best part was they even had sample carpet installed on the floor so that I would be able to know exactly what it would feel like in our home. I asked for some samples to talk about it with the rest of my family and he was eager to lend them to me. We choose the Organic Luxury in the Winter(something) color. After paying a couple of deposits they had the carpet ordered and ready to install. The installation went without a hitch and one of the carpet installers stated that he had worked with Nielsen Brothers Flooring for 20+ years as a sub contractor. It was nice to have people that spoke English and knew exactly what I wanted from them. Excellent service!
Description of Work: We needed to buy a new carpet after living in our home for a couple years. The previous owners had cats and the carpets smelled and had many stains, even after hiring a steam cleaning service and using a rentalcarpet cleaner a few times. The staff was absolutely amazing. We purchased the Mohawk Smart Strand carpet for our bedrooms and downstairs. After comparing prices with Lowes and Home Depot we calculated that we would save over a $1000 going with Nielsen Brothers Flooring. The manager worked with us to find the perfect color and allowed me to take home many samples without putting a deposit down, unlike Lowes and Home Depot who wanted to charge me $25 to check out a sample. The installation went very smooth and the carpet installers were friendly and cautious to not damage our hardwood. They nailed down squeaky floorboards, vacuumed before and after the installation to make sure there was no dirt under the carpet, in the crevasses, or any loose fibers after the install. They were even friendly to our pets. Thecarpet looks amazing and we couldn't be happier with the Smart Strand. Almost nothing will stain it, I tried to stain one of the samples the manager gave me and I couldn't, not even with ten different colored Sharpies, water and a little rubbing alcohol took everything up. I tried to stain it with red wine, bleach, bird dropping, mud from outside, crayon, and motor oil and it always came up without fading the carpet. I am very happy with the service that I received from Nielsen BrothersFlooring and I will definitely recommend them to my friends and neighbors. It is nice to support a local business, especially in these times when many people are out of work. Also they don't charge for removal or haul away, I was quoted at Lowes for $0.20 a square foot for removal which would have added an extra $250. Thank you Nielsen Brothers Flooring, I will certainly be back when I need to remove the vinyl from the bathrooms and laundry room to replace with ceramic tiles. Excellent service, I can't thank you enough, my house feels brand new.

Installers came 2 hours late. One had to drive to Kent to get more carpeting. The 2 guys took turns going outside for several minutes at a time, while the other guy stood around. They came 2 hours late, then stayed until 7 p.m. We called Irene at the store, and she was completely unresponsive and unhelpful. After selling us the carpet with installation, she could care less. The installers left a mess, which they did not vacuum up (lots of fibers and scraps all over the place).

Description of Work: We had the carpet in our whole house replaced: 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, family room and several steps and hallway. They took out our old carpet and pad and installed the new carpet and pad. We ask them if they could split the installation into 2 separate dates. So on Monday, they installed the downstairs carpet. Then that gave us time to put the furniture back and remove the furniture in the upstairs rooms. They were very professional, did a very good job; you can't even see where the seams are. They saved us the larger pieces of carpet in case we wanted them for future use. We would definitely use them again.

We had a wonderful experience. Store staff was friendly and helpful and they came out and measured our space promptly. We ordered early and they held it until we were ready for the install. Since we were carpeting over mid 1950's concrete, they helped us select a wool pad to allow any condensation to evaporate. Installation was tricky as well since the old concrete was so hard. The installers worked until late in the day and did a great job around all the trim (it was just installed and painted prior to the carpeting). We had a very small remnant so we know they measured well. All in all a superior experience!

I wanted to install environmentally responsible flooring without the toxic fumes. They had two types of flooring that fit my needs. They helped me decide which one to choose. The company sent one of their technicians to install the linoleum. He was prompt and did a good job. The one problem was when the person measured the bathroom, she did so incorrectly and the installer had to splice two sections together. He offered to bring more linoleum but I didn't like the idea that a whole large piece of linoleum would be wasted. He did a good job splicing the pieces and assured me the sections were sealed and would not let water through. So far it hasn't be a problem. He did a nice job of hiding where he put the pieces together.

Everything went really well. It was an excellent job. There was nothing we disliked about them or the service. We were able to coordinate and split up the job between 3 days and they were very accomodating.

We stopped into the store on a Saturday. Phaedra helped us pick carpet that met our requirements. She came to our home the next Monday to measure and write up the order. Carpet was installed 10 days later. The installers were on time and courteous. They took away the old carpet and pad that we had previously removed ourselves. The carpet is beautiful.

I got the statement for the balance on Monday morning. First thing Tuesday morning, I got a call from the owner who said "I understand you won't pay your bill." I have no idea where he got that from because I never said that. He began yelling at me so I told him he didn't have to yell so he said "fine, I will whisper" in a whispered voice. I couldn't believe an adult would behave in that manner. That very day, I went to the office and provided them my credit card to pay the balance just to get rid of them. I will never do business with them again.
Description of Work: They put down linoleum in my kitchen. They said they would be here by 9am but they called at 10:00 and didn't show up until 11am. They took the sliding doors off but didn't tell me that they will charge $50 each to put them back on. The outlet behind the stove is now non-functional which they are not taking any responsibility for. I also have a question regarding the $200 they wanted in CASH for the workers and wouldn't accept a check or credit card.
