Short story: Peter and team screwed the wiring on the heat pump they installed and refuse to fix it. Long story: Peter installed a heat pump and hooked it up to my thermostat, in the summer. It heated and cooled my house as described. Until a cold winter hit and the outside unit iced over, which meant my house didn't heat at all. They showed up and used hot water to de-ice the unit, and told me they had configured a thermostat setting incorrectly during installation that caused the de-icing functionality on the outside unit to turn off. But the good news is, they told me they fixed it on that visit, and didn't charge me. So I'm thinking, that's great, these guys are wonderful, and while there was an issue in the installation, they stand by their work and fix it if there is a problem. That turned out to be wrong. It happened twice more in the following winters. So I tried debugging myself. I called the thermostat company. After sending them pictures of the wiring, they told me Peter wired it incorrectly - he wired it as a boiler instead of a heat pump, so it was messing with the de-icing functionality. I'm thinking, no problem, Peter stands by his work quality and his work. I was wrong. Peter refuses to come out and fix it. And stopped replying to my texts. He'll probably reply here saying his work is out of warranty. This wasn't a worn-out part. He wired it incorrectly and doesn't stand by his work. Don't hire this company. They offer you a great price to install, but you are gonna have to pay true professionals later to fix their work. They won't even respond to you. Save yourself some headaches and pay extra for a professional.

Summary: After taking 44 days to provide bids and review and sign contracts, the contractor reneged on all seven signed contracts and walked away from the job on the first day of installation. - Details: In spite of its tiny size, I and six of my neighbors hired Home Comfort to install mini-split HVAC systems in our condo units because the firm was recommended highly by a Mitsubishi equipment distributor and had received 5-star ratings from 11 of 12 Google reviewers. After taking 44 days to provide bids and sign contracts, however, Home Comfort's principal, Petr Mironets, reneged on all seven of the contracts. On his first visit the young contractor seemed responsive, confident, knowledgeable, and agreeable to the specifications and contract terms we were requesting. In the weeks and days before the start of installation, however, he became less and less responsive. He repeatedly failed to deliver bids and sign contracts when he said he would. He said he'd provide pricing within a week of his initial visit; instead it took him 25 days. It then took him another 19 days to finish reviewing the contracts and sign them. On the evening before the scheduled start of installation, we learned that he had failed to obtain the required permits and a send a promised drawing of the system. He also mentioned that he might not honor his fixed contractual prices. On the morning of the scheduled start, he failed to show up on time, had still not gotten one of the required permits, and abruptly postponed installation until the following day. On that next day, he showed up an hour late, realized that he was still not ready to begin the installation, and realized he might not even be able to install the systems as he had agreed. He postponed the installation again and left the jobsite. Later that day he abandoned all seven contracts by email, saying he could not abide by the terms of his contracts -- even though he'd had 48 days to review drafts and 9 days to review the final versions. It appeared that he signed the contracts without seriously intending to abide by their terms, and perhaps without even reading them. -

Wonderfully! The job was completed on time and I was kept up to date on progress as it went along. All in all the team was here for 3 full days and they were extremely professional. Our home has been a bit of a fixer upper so I have worked with a lot of local contractors in different specialities, but of them all this was by far the best experience I have had. If you are looking for heating/cooling work, you will have a hard time finding anyone better. 100% attentive, thorough, and careful with the job. If you are at all like me, you are always careful reading glowing reviews like this, but I am completely unbiased in this assessment. I hadn't heard of the company before we found them via Mitsubishi's site a few weeks back when I was seeking quote. They finished the job about a week ago and I've already passed their name on to friends who might be thinking of HVAC work. Highly recommended!
Description of Work: We needed a new heating system for a larger, older home in North Tacoma. One system was gas, the other electric, and I was looking for a solution to solve the whole house heating needs. After getting many, many bid and proposals, I finally found Home Comfort through a search of Mitsubishi's preferred Diamond Contractor list on Mitsubishi's Heat Pump web site. Peter and his team worked with us to find the best solution for us, which ended up being a heat pump system with both ductless and ducted units. I got about a dozen quotes and proposals for solutions, but Peter's was by far the best. It was well priced for a great system, but even more importantly he and his team worked with us to make sure we came up with the best solution for our needs. A lot of the other quotes I got from both big and small companies in the area either wanted to go with the simplest route for them or they just didn't seem to listen to our specific needs in proposing a system.

Great. Had a walk thru with contractor followed by installation a few days later. Did a great job of hiding the copper and condensate tubing.
