And he was already running late. |Told him never mind not sure I want a company doing my roof that can't manage their own dispatch of estimators. |

Description of Work: Todd Weiland was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. Although he has yet to begin a small roof repair job, his estimate is very reasonable.

Description of Work: Total strip and repair of my roof. gutters and insulation. I like the fact that they have permanent employees with health insurance. Also you could buy products made in the USA.

Description of Work: I was very happy with the services from Guardian Roofing. Matt Walsh was my initial contact who came and spent about 2 hours inspecting my roof at no cost to me. The day of the service, the technician clearly explained what he was doing. He spent about 10 hours here, much to my amazement. I was pleased with the overall price and the professional job done. I would definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I didn't know what a good roof job looked like till they came, performed and educated us. Now I look at all of the neighbors roofs and understand how poorly done they are. I clearly understand their superior work. They added vents to the roof, special water drip side guards, insulation, better flashing, a cricket, etc.

Description of Work: Guardian Roofing is one of six bids I have had. The gentleman that came out to do the estimate, though very thorough,I believe tried to sell me things I did not ask about or really need done right now. I did appreciate that he was the only one out who actually went up into the attic for the full evaluation of any damage. He took lots of pictures of the attic area and roof so I knew exactly what to expect. That part is good. He was the only one who advised me that my chimney needs to be completely torn down and rebuilt because it is so bad and in fact he "found bricks that were ready to fall out" He advised they "employ their own brick masons" I actually hired a chimney service company to come out and make sure that that was not the case. He advised that though the chimney needs work, cleaning,retucking,repairing cracked tile etc, it does NOT need to be broken down....which was the same thing that all of the other roofing companies told me (though some would actually do the needed chimney repairs and some said I would need to get that work done elsewhere) That chimney repair bid was $500, not $2,000 which Guardian quoted for that add on. The other huge issue after the second visit which it sounds like is typical for this company is that according to this person is that I could not be provided a copy of the estimate which he prepared as I was watching him. Everything was itemized right down to the nails which is fine but when the final cost came to over 30k, I was shocked. This was more than double my highest bid. Yes,that was throwing in a couple of small repairs aside from the roof replacement but that bid is ridiculous. My house is about 1,500 square feet and without a high pitch....nothing dangerous or unusual. I would never go with a company who refused to provide a copy of the estimate for me to go over on my own time. What are they thinking ? Needless to say, my choice was not with Guardian. All other compaines were happy and proud to leave me with a copy of their estimate and advisded me to call with any questions if I did not understand anything I read. That shows everything is up front and honest. Lastly, all of the other estimates were within $4,000 from each other for rthe same service.

Description of Work: We decided NOT to hire this company due to their sales tactic. First appointment with their salesman, Matt, took over an hour and would have lasted longer if I didn't tell him I had an appointment. He inspected the roof, took pictures, and made his recommendations. However, he said he would have to come back for a second appointment to take a "core" sample to determine if the roof had two layers. He could not come back for TWO WEEKS. I made the appointment, but as it turned out, I was not able to make the appointment (nor was I able to call Matt to cancel). He did show up and left a phone message. I called as soon as I was home. When talking to him on the phone he insisted on making another appointment. When I asked how long it would take, he said at least an hour. I told him I did not have the time and asked if we could just review the information on the phone. He seemed upset, but we reviewed the information in about 10-15 minutes. He said he didn't have to take the "core" sample even though he insisted on doing this (3 separate times) at the first appointment. After all this, he never sent me a bid. The verbal quote he gave me (price above) was about 15-20% higher than any other bid I received. And no other roofing company representative treated me the way Matt did. There are many high quality, reliable roofing companies with great warranties to choose from. Guardian Roofing most likely would do a quality job if you are willing to deal with their sales tactics. Update: Matt also stated our chimney needed extensive work. He indicated the cap needed to be replaced and the brick work needed extensive tuck pointing. I have had TWO separate chimney / masonry contractors look at the chimney for an estimate and they both told me the same thing: Beside water sealing, the masonry and chimney cap are in good shape and need NO WORK. If I went with Guardian Roofing I would have over paid and paid for UNNEEDED work. No thanks.

Description of Work: Guardian provide a complete bid appropriate for the job and was clear in discussing the details. I had the work done by another equally good firm that was a bit better on price. I otherwise would have been comfortable using Guardian.
