They advertise their work. They did quite a number of jobs for me. They were prompt and pretty professional. The work on the roof was done incorrectly initially and there were some leak around the vents. They later kind of sealed it. The work that they did with the gutter drainage system was not proper either. I don't know what kind of product they used on the car porch, because a year later it was kind of wearing off. I wasn't very happy with that. Everything else that they did was okay. They were quick, efficient and thorough. They did a good job overall.

I found their price to be much higher ($2,000-$3,000 more) more than the other estimates I received. They treated me fine and seemed professional but the price was just too much. I felt they wanted to work that wasn't necessary.

They seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. However the cost of the service they were providing was extremely high.

It was an absolutely fabulous experience. They were able to find matching wood trim, which made it look like the skylights were built when our home was originally constructed. They were very professional and accommodated our every need; we were never fearful during the process. We had constant communication with them the entire time. I would recommend them to others.

It went well. They came out when they said. They did not harm the landscape. The roof looked much newer.

I contacted Guardian regarding the tear-off and replacement of my detached garage roof. Brent Wagner (estimator) showed up on time to discuss the job. We did a complete walk-through to determine the total scope of the work to be performed. He explained to me the company's history, hiring practices and insurance information and continued answering questions until I was at ease. He measured the roof and told me that he would be contacting me in the next couple of days to provide a quality estimate and if I was pleased with pricing, we would schedule the job. Three days later, he came back to my house and we discussed the total job, price, and removal of 1/2 of the underlayment to conform with more updated materials. We discussed the differences in the various roofing materials and the benefits of each. I accepted the quote and paid my deposit. I was told that the office would be contacting me shortly to schedule the job. I received a postcard from the office stating my roof would be installed on the 15th barring any unforseen issues. A couple of days prior to the stated date, Guardian called me to go over a pre-checklist of items that I should address (keeping the drive clear for their vehicles, protecting any indoor items as there was going to be a lot of dust/debris (they weren't kidding either!), and see if I had any questions. The day prior to the job, I got a call from the company letting me know that they would have to push off my job one day due to those "unforseen circumstances". (The area had recieved more than usual rain, lasting many days in a row). I understood. The day of the job, the "caravan" of vehicles showed up at 7:30am and began removing the existing layers (3) of roofing. I followed the progress throughout the day and noted that these guys were quite good at their profession. Once the tiles were removed they went to work on replacing 800sf of underlayment and the new tiles. At the end of the job, they cleaned up everything that had missed the tarps surrounding the garage and the foreman asked me to do a final inspection with him. The crew pulled out of my driveway at 4:15pm same day, and I have a beautiful new roof. Guardian relies on various checklists to be sure that everything is covered from the estimate through the final cleanup. They seem to pride themselves on their drug free employees and ensuring that "we" the customer is always satisfied. I would have no problem recommending this company for any roofing job!

They did a great job. We had a good experience with them because they were very professional, they were on time, they stayed within budget, and they did a quality job.

Bottom Line: Four years later, the roof is still performing well (no water leaks) and looks good, but the overall experience was only "fair", therefore the "C" rating. I got several estimates before selecting a company to go with. Thompson roofing was not the cheapest or most expensive, but I liked their product and the professionalism of their business (good prepared material, etc.). The final price of the work was inline with the estimate, and the work was performed on schedule. I did have a few problems however... First, the original estimate had included metal valleys, but they used overlapping valleys instead. They insisted this was an acceptable method for forming the valleys, but was not what was agreed upon in the contract. Also, there were some minor issues like places where the drip metal was not trimmed correctly, and even one exposed nail head. After writing a letter, visiting their business location, and having one of the head guys out to my house to inspect the work, they brought back out a few guys and fixed almost every issue. They could not do the metal valleys at this point, so they offered me a good deal on new gutters. Although I am satisfied with the final product, and the roof has been solid for the last 4 years, I don't think I will chose Thompson Roofing in the future or recommend them to any freinds. For the price they charged, I should not have had to write a letter and ask that someone come out to my house to inspect the roof before I got what I paid for.

We had at least 5 estimates for this expensive project. They were all in the same ballpark. The salesman was prompt and courteous. We were able to negotiate one free replacement skylight and free gutter replacement. The work started on time, but the foreman (Eberardo)was not there as had been agreed to. We wanted to speak with him before work commenced as this project was large and expensive. The other workers immediately got him on the phone, and he turned out to be a joy to work with - a talented and can-do craftsman. Work progressed through the worst weather of the year - rain, cold, snow flurries. We have a new,large deck, which the crew completely covered to prevent damage. Everything was cleaned up every day. Every question was answered immediately and cheerfully. Nothing was too much trouble. The crew was great. The gutter replacement crew was from a different company. They were not as neat and didn't perform as well. I had to point out an evident problem, which they fixed, but they left in a hurry without giving me an opportunity to do a walk-around inspection before they left. They left some mess on the new deck, too.

My detached garage has the original, 40yr old roof and my house has a 20-25yr old roof. I need the garage roof replaced, and probably the house too. The estimator called on the day of the appointment to say he was delayed by traffic. After he arrived, he did a thorough inspection of both roofs (house and detached garage), taking notes, measurements, and pictures. He gave me his overall impression when I asked him, otherwise didn't say a whole lot about what he had seen. The estimate was on a Monday (Sep. 28th). We agreed to an appointment the next Thursday (today as I write this, Oct. 1st) to go over the estimate and proposal. He never showed, didn't call my home phone as he had before, nothing. I would have understood a call to confirm the appointment, or to say some circumstance had come up preventing his arrival. I'm also confident the appointment wasn't for the following week, as it shouldn't take more than a day or two to put together an estimate. Looks like I'll be going with a different company. No, I did not call the estimator to inquire into his whereabouts, as the company was seeking my business at this point, or so I thought.

Their customer service was impressive to begin with perpetually got better. I negotiate contracts for a living and this company deserves the HIGHEST POSSIBLE RATING a company could have. They are always courteous, professional and friendly no matter who I talked to or dealt with (Jackie is such a pleasure to talk to, Adam was an outstanding project manager with an A+ crew and Bullmaro worked so hard to make the flat roof job look nice and did extra work without charging me). However, their impressive quality work didn't stop with getting the job done. We encountered some minor problems with the flat roof. I called and the other owner Mat came there himself within an hour on a weekend. Now that is impressive. You just don't usually encounter this dedication to customer service I have experienced with Guradian. I am telling you this is an Outstanding company to work with. They don't even need to go out of their way to please the customer as the work they do is TOP NOTCH. However, they are dedicated and really CARE about the customer. Truly a rarity in the construction business. I can't say enough great things about this company. I deal with a LOT of contractors and Guardian is one of the few I would go out of my way to praise. Even my wife said she was pleased. Guardian is the first American company on Earth to achieve such appreciation. I wish Guardian well and am looking forward to future business with them.

Experienced knowledgeable technician correctly diagnosed the problem. Five years ago, another Kent roofing company worked this problem differently, for a hefty fee, and did not fix the leakage. Scheduling of the estimate and the work was prompt and timely. A reminder call the day before repair was appreciated. Previous work by this company in 2007 was excellent also.

Everything turned out pretty good. There were a few things that we were not happy with but we did get a good roof & gutters. They were supposed to put in the ridge vents but they ended up putting in those canister vents. I would give them an overall grade of a B because of the vents & also I heard one of the bosses telling one of the workers that he had made a mistake but he didn't know I could hear that. Then they told me that they couldn't do the ridge vents, but here I heard him tell the guy that he had made a mistake. The guy that came out & decided what was going to be done on the job was the person who told me we could use the ridge vents & that they would look really good on the house. I felt like what the second guy had said was all a bunch of song & dance to cover up their mistake. I guess I would use them again in the future.

The experience was positive. They were very efficient and clean. They did a thorough job on the roof and it was high quality work.

I was very impressed with the guy that gave us the estimate, he was very thorough and took the time to talk to us. The crew was excellent, very professional. We are extremely happy with their work.

The representative showed up on time and was very nice I told him that I needed the repairs and he had the roof tarped off until the work could be done. I had told them that I wanted a repair but they as professionals should have advised me that that would not fix the problem. It took several months for them to return to do the work. I did not mind since the roof was not leaking. To make a long story short after they did the work the next winter I had leaks in over five different areas. When I called to to let them know the situation I was told I had told them that I did not want to spend very much so that is what I asked for. Since then I have had three more roofers look at my roof and have learned that a roof with such a low pitch should not even have composite style roofing. Also they noticed that the staples where not removed from the tarp job. None of them could believe that I was charged such a high price. I feel that I was taken advantage of because of my ignorance of roofing.

The salesman showed up on time and spent plenty of time with me to find out exactly what I wanted, offering estimates of each component and allowed me to select my options. Then, the company contacted my tenant and scheduled a time, they also gave her a list of things to do to prepare. On the day they scheduled the crew showed up on time and got right to work, By noon the old roofs were cleared away and the sheathing was done and papered before they left. The following day the work was finished by about three. The crew foreman and lead could speak english, but the rest of the crew was Hispanic. Nevertheless the work was good quality, and I had no difficulty making sure I got what I wanted. The salesman and business owner both came by to see how things were going. Overall, the work was very good, the workers very polite and well-behaved, and the job was done very quickly. The amount I paid was exactly as contracted, no extra charges.

Very prompt. Came when they said they would, but watch the details with these guys. They failed to re-secure the siding board over the back porch - so it came loose. The estimate didn't include a gutter on the one side of the garage - because (duh) it had already fallen off, so "there was no existing gutter" (just a down spout.....?). The flashing on the weather side of the chimney is already coming off and we had to remind the guy that they needed to seal up the two remaining vents on the side walls in the attic. They left nails in my planter, but all the visible nails were picked up

It went pretty well. They made a mistake but they were very willing to come back and fix it without charge. They gave me a good quote, their people were helpful and they were willing to fix their mistake.

Joe was excellent. Took much time to explain everything. Too bad the plan was not fully explained to the workers. We thought we were going to have the perfect roof, but I feel it will do the job but is not what we expected. They gave us the explanation that what was planned, could not be done. However, they didn't know that I heard the Foreman being chewed out for goofing the job. Original ridge vents not installed. Ugly cam vents (many) instead. Would have liked input on the downspouts also. They wreck the design elements of the house. Still waiting after 5 months for my bill marked PAID, showing the sales tax paid.

My experience with the sales rep. and the office staff was great but the crew and the owner was a different story. I was unhappy with the fact that they used my yard as a advertising platform. They did not clean up after themselves and they even created a fire hazard when working around my wood stove.

Unfortunately, there isn't much to report. Company was contacted for an estimate and was to show up at my parent's house on a specified date. Company even emailed a confirmation, then failed to show up for their own appointment. Too bad they didn't know we were Angie's List members.

The teardown and re-roofing went well. The quality is excellent. The job was completed in under two days.

They talked to us in great detail before the job. If there was any problems after the service then they will do there best to take care of that.
