same outstanding service we will use again

Getting a quote from Guardian Roofing went well. For the quality I might be paying just a tiny bit more, but my roof is in horrible condition and it's huge. I liked the presentation that they made and they seemed like a good solid company. I know they got some awards for being on Angie's List, the quality service award. 89 squares, it's huge. We are absolutely using them.

The actual job went fantastically. Only issue was in getting final schedule of the start date.

They were very courteous and made sure to call to confirm appointments and understood when we had to reschedule. They did a beautiful job on our new skylights and additional repairs that needed done. They did not try and sell more than we needed and that was very impressive to me. We will be using them again this summer for another skylight replacement.

It took 2-3 days for the whole house, House is 2 stories + basement. plus dining room extension and lean to They did a excellent job overall and kept the place clean. Gave me a roller magnet to use after they did a round of picking up nails, I did the whole house and the street to make sure no nails were anywhere, I recommend this for anyone owner. Our roof was only 15-18 years old and should have lasted another 10-15 years-the laminate shingles were still in good shape. However, because the shingles were not installed properly, the roof failed, and over half of the plywood was water soaked completely through and was molding inside the attic. This is a lesson for anybody--it does not matter how high the quality of shingles--if they are not installed properly, it is of little value. The bottom line- the roof is only as good as the intallation. Guardian makes an effort to educate the customer on the importance of quality installation, which we were already aware due to our situation. Other bidders did not spend anytime discussing the process. Anyone can offer 50 year shingles, but an important factor easily overlooked is a quality install done right. Guardian came through on every aspect of the roofing job. Everyone on the team was professional, always explaining the process. They were efficient, timely and cleaned up all messes. Any issues during the process were addressed immediately. They were slightly costlier than other bids, but again, we feel it is absolutely worth the investment for a quality job done right. We are very satisfied with the new roof and would absolutely recommend them to everyone. Also, there were no "suprise costs" at the end of the job, which perhaps lower bids may ended up having.

I have never used them for a total roof replacement, but I would at least get a quote if we had a need based on our great experience so far.

They're very good. They're on time. They give you the right estimate. They'll come back and fix anything that's not adequate. They have excellent communication. They did a good job. They worked hard. So far, we're really happy with that. They're such a good company because they train all their roofing people to do all kinds of different jobs. Every Friday morning, they have classes where they call people who work on chimneys. They're a very good company. They're excellent in every way.

Guardian was professional, they were on time and very thorough in inspecting my roof and taking pictures to outline the issues. They were reasonably priced and provided excellent service.

Everything has been going well. The company has been very responsive to my calls, and it has provided a 1-year warranty for its work which is comforting to know.

I scheduled for them to do additional drainage work in January. They told me they would call a certain week on Monday to let me know when they were coming (about three weeks after they had me sign the contract), they called me 5 days later than that and told me they would be out the following week. That following week, they called to say they would come sometime that week, then they cancelled for that week due to their technicians being out or their being shorthanded. Week 3 of them supposedly coming, they called to tell me someone would be at my house Tuesday or Wednesday. I never got a call. The following week, i called and asked what happened. Apparently, their technician checked the job off as completed. The person I talked to promised me someone first thing the next day. Later that afternoon, someone called me to let me know a technician would "come the next day to complete the job" - yet they had never started the job. I wouldn't use Guardian Roofing again except that it is the only way to not void a warranty. I believe we overpaid - almost $700 for a larger drain to be added to the roof and it took 6+ weeks to have them come. I understand it is winter and this wasn't priori but over three weeks in a row of having phone call after phone call telling me they would come that week and then having them not show up - it became comical. They wouldn't have come if I hadn't called to find out why they hadn't shown up. The only good point I have to say about them is - Their technicians that do the work are great - very professional and friendly.

SUSPECT SALES TACTICS, NEVER RECEIVED A PAPER COPY OF THE ROOFING BID, C'MON GUARDIAN!! The reviews are great - so I figured, hey they must be a stand up company. The sales rep comes out to the house and is a blast to talk to - because that's what he's good at. TALKING. Then when its time to give me a paper copy or even an email copy of the actual bid - NOTHING. An absolute waste of my time. He didn't even have the numbers ready when he showed up at my house the second time. He wanted me to sit and wait for him to put the figures into his excel spreadsheet... I mean, really? I'm spending $10,000+ and you're not ready? Worse yet, you want me to tell you the name of other bidders so you can show me on the L&I website why they're bad? Then pay you THOUSANDS more for the same product??? [I can't tell you the exact amount, since he never gave me the exact figures]... check out www.researchroofing.com when you start your roofing research. Contractors on Angie's List pay to be here... Here's some good things about GUARDIAN though, so they won't respond like Northern Pacific Exteriors and call me a liar... 1. THEY DONT SUBCONTRACT THE WORK (like Angie's List "super dud" NPE) 2. They drug test all the workers, plus they have a pretty strict rules at the job site 3. They offer all the right stuff, the products and the warranties - not the Guardian Warranty, why pay extra? The bad... 1. The sales tactics are shady, In My Opinion 2. They upsell/oversell 3. The mark-ups are high (lots of overhead and marketing costs to cover) 4. The warranty is meh, the manufacturers warranty is what matters - CertainTeed Sure Start is a good start... 5. Come to my house ready...sheesh!

We set it up by phone and they confirmed several times over phone and email. They sent the background, name, photo of the person who was coming out. They were very professional. They came out exactly when they said they would. The inspection was very thorough, they found a hole in our roof that we didn't know we had and did a temporary repair that day. They came out when they said they would. In advance to the repair person coming they called and emailed with a confirmation and told us who was coming out. They spent the whole day doing the repair, cleaned, and treated the roof. They are really good.

Initially, we contracted with Guardian, based on reviews, to inspect our roof and clean off the moss. On their visit, the individual seemed very professional and knowledgable. He indicated that there was some wear on the roof (roof dates to 2004), but not that any repairs were indicated. Additionally, he tried to sell me a very expensive (several thousands of dollars) cleaning/maintenance plan. I declined the plan, they cleaned the roof and on we went. Fast foward to December when I was selling my home. The home inspector found clear damage on the roof (a few broken caps and exposed fasteners), so we called Guardian back to perform the repairs. At the same time, we were cleaning the dryer vents. The dryer vent technician found a roof leak directly related to the area that Guardian had told us was not leaking. We had Guardian complete the work, but the $1200 repair bill was both a bit expensive and should have been recommended to us in May. It was surprising to me that Guardian did not find the leak during 2 separate inspections as well. If this is their business, I would have expected more.

I contacted Guardian after I got there reference from Angies list. They came out and looked at the roof and the problems we were having. I was given an estimate, and showed me pictures of the problem areas. I then contacted the office to set up an appointment to have the work done. They said they had a back log of work and would not be able to get to my roof until the week of November 12. They contacted me on the 12th of November to let me know when they would be out to work on my roof. They showed up when they said they would. They fixed and cleaned the roof. Then showed me pictures of the repairs they made. showing before and after pictures. I no longer have leaks. They were very professional. They could not finish the job until there was a dry day. They have contacted me several times to let me know that they have not forgotten me but have not had a drey day to finish the job. Their professionalism had made me feel like a valued customer.

The gentleman that originally came out and gave us our quote was very thorough! He must have spent an hour just inspecting the attic and roof, and another hour reviewing everything with us. By the time he was done, he was able to point out all the problem spots and really understood and was very knowledgeable on how to fix our roofing and ventilation problems. Pricing was one to two thousand more than other quotes, but I honestly feel had we chosen any other company, the hidden fees would have added up real quick. With Guardian, there were no hidden fees. The installation crew was very pleasant, professional and clean. After the job was completed we were preparing for more work to be done in the attic and found that they only vented one bathroom upstairs and accidentally left the master bath to vent directly into the attic. I promptly called Guardian and they will be coming back to fix the mistake. Overall, this was a great experience and well worth your time to get a quote. After you get your quote, you will be surprised on how many trouble areas the other companies missed during their quote (which would have ended up as a hidden fee during the middle of construction when you are most vulnerable). UPDATE: Guardian promptly came out and installed the missing vent. Customer service is really A+!! Thank you Guardian for a wonderful roofing experience!

It started on Monday the 17th, the tear off took most of the day and they cleaned up the nails and material moderatly. then the Next day the material for the roofing did not come in till about noon. Our next door neighbor allowed the truck to unload to the roof the material since there was no access to our roof from our lot. The started up on the roof and kept quiet the best they could and it was all day Wed. and 1/2 thursday before it was finished. after the work was done the owner of the company came by and we toured the roof and he showed me what they did and answered all my questions. we went in the house and he showed my wife the pictures of before during and after the job was completed. the worlk

They showed up when they said they would for both appointments and days of service.. They sat down and TALKED to me about what were my concerns and options. No pressure. Some details were corrected in writing before job completed.All questions before,during and after were answered. Owner Matt checked in to make sure all was done and I was happy. Will recommend anytime.

Every person we were in contact with were very polite and professional. We were very impressed with the way they accommodated our timeline. The services that were performed were excellent and the job site was kept clean at all times. If you have a "low slope or flat" roof ask for Matt Krill for estimate--that is what he cut his teeth on (field of expertise). What ever you do make sure you get "Bulmaro Trujillo" if it's a one man job, or if more, make sure he's on the team--this guy is honest, friendly, and knows what he's talking about. They were here three times. They guarantee that the roof won’t leak. They come back every three years and they treat the roof. The guy came out in a nice clean truck and he was in a nice clean uniform. He had all the paper work and we chatted for a couple of minutes. He got on to the roof, walked around up there, took pictures and measured. He spent a lot of time up there. He then came down and showed me the pictures of the boots and how they needed to be replaced. He knew what he was talking about. He was very professional guy and he was neat and clean.

They have been great! We are hiring them for additional painting work. I trust their work and their follow through. It was a good experience.

Overall, very well. They had originally said they would use exterior grade plywood where sheeting repair was needed, but they showed up with OSB instead, when I pointed it out they brought the plywood the next day. Professional and polite, they said it was a communication error.Anytime we had any questions or wanted to see or talk about any of the work they were more than helpful. I was up on the roof plenty.Honesty and integrity I believe are high, unfortunately the price tag is a little high too.

They were really great and very professional. Their bid process took a little longer than expected because they were very thorough. They were also very fair, and took our chimney down for free because they didn't think they would be able to make the roof leak proof with the chimney on. We also had a couple of layers of roofing, more than we thought, so we split the difference on the cost of removing the extra roofing. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely use them again.

We engaged their services in February 2012 after a January estimate. They did a very good job, including installing a vapor barrier that was not present on the old roof and installing the correct number of vents which were also not present. They repiared the flashing and all outlets. They cleaned up all debris. The only part that we did not like was the billing. We asked them to send the bill to my mother-in-law since it is her house and we are managing it for her. They then called her up and asked her to put the $8200+ bill on her credit card. When she told them she could not, they sent her a bill like they said they would do in the first place. The bill that she received had warnings it would go to collections if it was not paid immediately, which freaked the poor 91 year old lady out.

We had a few leaks fixed including a major amount of work done on a main chimney. There was some new water damage revealed around there and was quoted $3000 to fix that. My contractor did the work for $500. A skylight repair was also quoted at around $3000, but my contractor did it for $1200. The guys that did the work were professional and did good jobs, but overall the cost for some of the work was overpriced.
