Wanted duct system cleaned out, and they don't offer that. I wanted to clean my furnace before I cleaned the ducts.

Price reflects Angie's deal. Inspector discovered that the burners needed to be replaced. Unfortunately heater was so old that heaters weren't readily available. Offered us a special $1500 price on entry-level heater. We agreed with new owner to buy that heater or ay $1500 toward higher-level heater. New owner opted for a $3600 heater, which Green installed promptly, and sale went forward.

The scheduling was very efficient and the servicer was on-time. I would definitely use the company again.

It is a regular furnace tuning. He carefully clean filters and made the filter looks brand new. He also carefully clean and tune the furnace.

The service person was running much later than I had anticipated, but after he arrived, he went right to work and completed both services. Good information about furnace issues and water heater. Calm, professional, friendly; I will use this service again.

LARRY (THE TECHNICIAN) CALLED ME 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO ARRIVAL JUST AS I HAD REQUESTED. HE WAS VERY PERSONABLE AS WELL AS PROFESSIONAL. IT WAS RAINING PRETTY HEAVY WHICH CAUSED HIM TO GET WET WHILE CLEANING THE FILTERS. THAT DID NOT AFFECT HIS ATTITUDE IN ANY WAY. HE ANSWERED A NUMBER OF QUESTIONS I HAD AND IT WAS OBVIOUS HE WAS QUITE TECHNICALLY PROFICIENT. PRIOR TO LEAVING HE GAVE ME SOME EXCELLENT SUGGESTIONS FOR MAINTAINING TWO 14 YEAR OLD FURNACES. THE COUPON I OBTAINED THROUGH ANGIE'S LIST WAS THE CATALYST FOR MY CHOOSING GREEN CITY. I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THEM IF NOT FOR THE COUPON.

It went great. We will definitely use them again. We bought the deal on Angie's List; $99 for a furnace tune-up w/ new filter, PLUS a carbon monoxide detector installed! Highly recommend Green City:)

Upon quick inspection of the furnace, it was determined that a new furnace is required, so no maintenance work was performed on the old furnace as part of this deal.

The appointment went well overall. Setting up the appointment was easy. The time window was wider than I'd like, and the technician showed up a little late, but he was professional about it and called ahead to let me know he'd be late. The technician was courteous and experienced, and did a thorough job. I was a bit disappointed that the carbon monoxide detector advertized as part of the deal was defective. The technician just installed his first device earlier that day for another customer, only to discover that the detector went off for no reason, and changing batteries didn't fix the problem. He was careful to install the battery first before attempting to install the device, and when it started to chirp loudly I decided not to bother with the installation. He gave me the unit to keep, but it's completely useless. Would have been nice to hear back from the company later regarding the defective detector -- even an apology would have gone a long way. Overall, I don't regret getting the furnace serviced. It wasn't a bad deal, the technician did a good job and educated me a bit about furnace filters.

Tim did a great job! He arrived on time, answered all my questions, provided additional recommendations and, most importantly, left the furnace working great. I will definitely continue to use their services!

Purchased the $79 for a Gas-Furnace... Tune-Up from Green City Heating & Air-Conditioning hoping that a tune-up might resolve the issue of our pilot light not staying on (on our furnace). They've indicated that the soonest they can schedule to come out is a week and a half from today, which would mean a long time to wait for heat. I've pointed out to them that we're without heat, but they're very busy now.

Excellent job! Did exactly what we needed when we needed it. They were very responsive. I am a real estate Broker and will definitely be using and referring Green City again.

They were on time, quickly inspected everything, replaced the air filter, and gave the furnace a clean bill of health. I would definitely hire them again.

First, our situation had some complications. Perhaps this is why we had a poor experience with them. Our home was built in 1976 but we bought it in 2012. When we got our bid for the heat pump the price was $1800 less than the other bid we received for the same equipment installed by another company. Green City weas very cooperative and professional in the installation of the heat pump. The complication came when we were not getting a good response for heat. Underneath the house they found an old electric furnace. When the gas furnace in the garage was installed before we bought the house duct work from the new furnace to the old, disconnected, furnace where it joined the old duct work to the rest of the house. Some of this duct work was crushed and it was assumed that this was preventing adequate flow to the rest of the house. They gave me a bid to remove the old furnace and install 80 ft of new duct. The bid was for two full days of labor and 80 ft of duct work. That work was done in 5 hrs instead of two days. Apparently the removed the old furnace and left one panel in place. The new duct was installed to this panel where it went out to the rest of the house. When new furnaces or heat pumps are put in it is required that duct testing take place. When this test was conducted it was found that the heat loss was over 19%. Under 10% is considered acceptable. Still we were still not getting heat after a few minutes. The next time Green City could return was about a week later. That employee told me that only part of the duct work had been replaced and there would be discussion at the office the next day This was on a Thursday. The following Tuesday I called them to see what was happening. They told me that their employee would be there at 1:00. It was the same one who had installed the duct work and told me that all that was done was done correctly since this was his specialty. He tinkered around with the duct work for a couple of hours but still no heat. He did check his work from before and try to resolve any leaks. Still we were not getting warm air into the house. A few days later the man who had overseen the installation of the heat pump was back to try to figure out why we were not getting heat. (In the meantime he had been promoted from installation to General Manager.) After doing some research, he discovered that a piece on the heat pump had shifted during the transportation of the unit. Once he put it where he belong the problem was solved. When it was out of place it would shut down the heat moments after it warmed up. I asked that the $4400 bid for the ductwork be adjusted since it only took them 5 hrs for the installation and not all 80 ft of ductwork was installed. From what I was told, the reason we did not have heat was because the heat pump was not properly tested when it was installed or when the duct work was completed. The request for an adjustment was made in an email since I was not called back when I left a message to speak to Jeff (he did call me on last Monday and said they would discuss it. The final payment was charged to my credit card (which I had given them earlier to make the final payment for the heat pump) the previous week.. They charged me for the full bid despite doing much less work then I was told would be required. Other concerns I have, installation of a heat pump requires a permit, and I requested one. They called for an inspection and the inspection failed for some very basic things like not having the heat duct testing results (this test was not done before they call for the inspection) and for not strapping down the heat pump until to the pad. An electrical permit was included in our original bid but was not required which didn't concern me too much though given their experience I felt should have been know by Jeff when he gave me my bid for the heat pump. Others have found their work to be outstanding but I think they were well out of their depth with this project. I was given the discount for finding them on Angie's list.

I thought I was ordering a cleaning and tune-up for our furnace. I scheduled a time for the work. When the serviceman arrived (right on time) he said the service was for a gas furnace, not oil like we have. He checked with his office to see if he could do it anyway but they said not for the $79 coupon price. They quoted a higher price but I declined to do that. He looked at the filter and noticed it needed to be changed. Even though we were not hiring them he went out and got us a filter from his truck and gave it to us at no cost. Really good customer service.

They were very fast and efficient. Our furnace was located in the basement in very tight working conditions. They never complained--just worked within the confines of the small space. All of the work was done efficiently, and they cleaned up debris immediately. They gave a follow-up call to make sure everything was working right. I appreciated the "estimate" experience. Could tell this vendor was honest and had answers for everything we asked. Gave us a comparison of the cost to stay with oil, get a gas furnace, or go electric. The estimator encouraged us that we could use all the existing ducting and could save that expense.
