The Rep. arrived on the agreed day and time and first wanted to know exactly how the furnace was operating , I told him it was driving me rite up a wall ,like if it was in a good mood ,it would just fire rite up and make us all toasty warm and then other times I would have to give it a good kick and then most of the time it was ok after about the third kick and the best part the guy didn't even seam worried at all and just went to work and had the thing running so smooth and quit that I actually felt bad for kicking the poor thing. It was just trying to tell me to call these guys.

We interviewed three companies to replace our gas furnace. Jeff Simonson was a good salesman, and the owner of the company. He first inserted a camera probe to allow him to view the burn box, to see if in fact we needed a new furnace. His video of the burn box confirmed our thought that the time had come to replace the furnace?repair costs had been escalating. We appreciated his attempt to possibly save us money by checking to see if the existing furnace was worth repairing. Jeff clearly explained the various options available. However, at no time did he indicate that he thought the job needed a permit. Furnace replacement in Seattle DOES require a permit, so that was disappointing. When we asked him about a permit, he readily agreed to get one for the job, and revised his estimate to reflect the cost of the permit. Unfortunately, we had to ask him three times to get the permit, and Green City didn?t ask for an inspection until after the installation (which is not what the permit actually requires). The inspector passed the installation cleanly, and if he noticed the discrepancy in dates, he didn?t make an issue of it. At the time of the installation, Jeff indicated that Green City would send in the paperwork for the warranty, but (after three requests for the warranty certificate) admitted that the company did not have the model or serial number for the unit. We supplied that information, and requested an owner?s manual. It would seem that supplying that owner?s manual would be standard practice, but the office staff said they would get ?another one? for us. That was fine, but we were not getting a second copy, as was implied. We have nothing in writing regarding the one year of free service Green City has verbally assured us comes with an installation by the company. (We have asked for that, as well.) The installers showed up promptly on the day of installation, and the job was done in one day, as promised. The furnace was installed in August, so we have held off on this review until we have had time to actually use the unit. It worked well for about two weeks, then, at the beginning of early November (when the area experienced a cold snap), began turning off after only a brief heating period. This was on a Saturday, and it was not possible to get the house above 62 degrees. Repeated calls (with messages left) to Green City?s office and to Jeff?s cell phone brought no response. On Monday, a call to the office resulted in a visit scheduled for Wednesday. I expressed disappointment with the wait, but was told that since I had ?some heat? it was not viewed as an emergency. The problem was quickly diagnosed as an incorrect installation, and it was fixed on the following Wednesday. To date (mid-December) the unit has been working well. The installer and general manager gave us their cell phones so we at least have (we hope) an emergency number to call. Communication has been the problem for this job. Jeff does not apparently check his e-mail regularly, and the office is often without anyone to answer the phone. Voicemails were sometimes not returned, or not returned promptly. The impression we have is that Green City has (or had) more work than this small company can handle. Jeff did mention on more than one occasion when we were finalizing the purchase and install date that they were very busy installing air conditioning. While we have liked the company personnel we have met, we cannot not recommend the company to friends or to Angie?s List.

Getting the appointment set up was a little frustrating because I was communicating via phone and email.....so we crossed wires a bit.

I didnt receive service; I am requesting a refund.

Green City arrived on time, he opened the door to the furnace and checked the filter, which was very dirty, he vacuumed the filter. He then cleaned the blower motor and the inducer motor, checked the gas pressure and the heat exchanger and burner. The worker, Larry, was done in about an hour. Larry was very courteous and efficient. I was very pleased with service I received from Green City and would definitely use them again.

All went well. Guys were quick and professional. Took time to show me what they did and how to work new thermostat. Adjustments were needed a couple weeks later. Came out, did it, not a problem.

Bud came out right on time. He spent a good half hour dismantling and cleaning the Furnace. I feel that it was a very good investment and the price was more than reasonable. I definatly would use Green City Heating again. Plus Bud was awsome

We hired them initially for an inspection of our current furnace. We knew it was old and on our last leg, so when they suggested that we replace it ASAP we were happy to give them our business. We had just bought the house 2 months prior and it was on our "to do" list. The price they gave was fair (got a couple other quotes) and they were able to come out quickly to do the install. The furnace works great, my only complaint is that the guys left my basement door open when they left and my dogs got out. I found them so all is well, but I wish they had taken care to close it up.

The services went pretty well. The gentlemen showed up on time and completed the service in a timely manor. Didn't try to sell anything extra. I would highly recommend Green city.

They informed that there was a cracked heat exchange. They were knowledgeable and I appreciated their service. They did give me an estimate for a new furnace but the estimate seemed liked it could have been a little more professionally.

Very smooth, punctual and explained in detail what they did.

I was contact promptly from the company and offered several dates for service. Once I scheduled the service date, the technician was prompt and quick. He performed the work in a reasonable amount of time and updated my on the performance of my furnace. He was very friendly. I recommended them to a neighbor already.

Tim was punctual and meticulous, inspecting and tuning as needed. He was a pleasure to work with--communicative, both verbal and listening. Green City was very communicative about arrival times etc. I would definitely use them again.

Arrived a little late but he got right to it once he got there and everything went well.

Scheduling was prompt, and the service person arrived on time. The problem was that they were not certified to service my particular brand of furnace. They were quick to point that out and said that I should get a refund from Angies List since I was unable to use their services. It would have been better if their scheduler had asked what brand of furnace we had, and told me then that they were unable to service it.

Tech was on time and very friendly and personable. He did a thorough job of checking the furnace for proper heating and replaced the filter on the unit. Very quick and courteous and I felt he really knew what he was doing.

I purchased this deal to get my heater serviced. The provider does not have any availability until next month and I need this completed sooner than that. I will need to find another provider to complete this service.

First, they were very flexible and they moved my appointment up to an earlier time to accommodate my work schedule. Larry, the technician, arrived on time and was cheerful and very helpful. He let me "pick his brain" on my thoughts for a future install of a heat pump and possibly replacing the original furnace in the house for a more efficient supplemental heat source. Since I didn't know exactly where I wanted the CO detector to be located, (it was included in the service,) he left it with me to install myself. The service call was finished in enough time for me to make it to work on time as well. I am very happy with the service and this company.

First when calling the office person states such a job is flat fee $450 for 15 feet of gas line. I wasn't sure if it was 15 ft. They have a great rating on Angie's list. Dad always said get a quote in writing AFTER they see the work they need to do. So we sched for just that. The guy who came out was 45 mins late. Called and said he would be 15 mins late. No calls after that. re: the above... was not happy about not just doing the job. He then couldn't find the gas line, couldn't find the meter, asked for a quote in writing for materials etc. What we got was $600 with 20 feet of line, flat fee written on a business card. He then went onto say in winter it costs more because the guys have to turn off the heat and they get cold. In summer the same job would be $450. We would have liked to have our stove for Thanksgiving. What was disturbing was seemingly bait and switch on prices. Most likely due to the guy met with my wife, a woman. Plus, the lack of knowledge around gas lines. Read their Yelp review.

Install went fine. The inspection was prompt, and they worked hard to get a new unit and a crew available to install the new unit and haul away the old one on short notice. Everyone was professional, pricing was good, and they did a nice job following up. I chose them due to the good Angie's list reviews, and was not at all disappointed. If you are looking for a fair price upfront, and prompt professional service (who isn't, really), they are a great choice.

They were real responsive. The guy was really nice. I didn't have to pay anything. I bought the deal and they came in and did it and left. I don't think I even signed anything. He just did it. I've had service people come out before and it was good deal. If I just called the people who normally service the furnace it would have been $150. I would probably use them again if I ever remember I used them.

The technician was named Tim. He called 1 1/2 hour ahead of time to indicate the time he would be here. He arrived in time and did a wonderful job. Our furnace was not pumping good heat the past year or two so we were hoping it just needed to be cleaned and tuned up.We also had an air cleaner (Honeywell) that didn't seem to be cleaning very well. Tim inspected the whole system, cleaned the complete system, corrected some override wiring that I did 2-3 years ago and forgot about, and and put everything back together and tested and explained the system to me before he left. The furnace was quite dirty and was not performing efficiently and now is really putting out good heat...just in time for a real cold spell here in the Seattle area. Tim did a great job and if this is the kind of work Green City does, we will use them for everything we can. Refreshing to see that kind of service and quality of work!
