Green City Heating and Air Conditioning

This was a big deal purchase and they did fine. It took them about a month after the purchase date to come out. They were good.

Communicative office staff and service provider. He was actually early! Last company who came to evaluate the furnace told me it was probably an original furnace (it wasn't) and that it had to be replaced (it doesn't). Green City was honest about the functionality of our heating, and gave me multiple price options so we had a good idea of what we might need to do down the road. Very personable and helpful. Would work with Green City again.

The appointment was scheduled quickly. The technician was 20 minutes late, but he did call ahead to notify me. The technician performed the requested services with the exception of providing a new filter (he did not have my odd-sized filter in his vehicle, but I had my own anyway). I would definitely hire this company again.

Two guys came Alex and Matt. They were quick and efficient. Changed out the water heater in one hour. Everything went smoothly and no problem so far. Would use them again!

The provider was very punctual and professional. They installed the furnace, AC coil, and air filter and all required duct work, and the end result was very clean looking. The outdoor AC unit was installed with all coolant lines and electrical conduit, and the end result was very functional and clean. An new outdoor GFCI was installed within 25 ft of the external AC unit, and all conduit was routed in such a way that it does not stand out from the house. The GFCI was installed next to my gas and power meters, so it looks like it has always been there. One thing to note is the fact that since an outdoor AC unit was unavailable, on their own initiative Green City Heating and AC installed an outdoor heat pump unit instead, configured as an AC. This means that down the road I can convert the system to a heat pump for little additional effort and at a much lower cost than if I were to replace the outdoor AC coil with a heat pump. This was an unexpected bonus, as I ordered an AC unit with a lower SEER rating than the heat pump that was actually installed! All in all, I have been very impressed with Green City Heating and AC, and would recommend their services to other Angie's List subscribers.

I do NOT recommend that anyone purchase a "Big Deal" from Green City Heating & Air Conditioning if you actually want to receive the service you paid to receive anytime soon. So far I've paid 70 bucks, but received nothing in return except for wasted time. I want my money back.

These folks are a seriously efficient operation! It took a good sized team and a full day, but they had no trouble installing the new furnace & heat pump (dual fuel system; heating & cooling). The resulting install was very cleanly done. So far the system is working really well, and has been very energy efficient. Also, Green City was very accommodating and adjusted the plans about a week before install at my request (originally they were going to try and retrofit the heat pump into the old furnace, which would've been cheaper, but less guarantees about efficiency and space constrained the coil/heat pump size. I decided to go for the fully new system. But I should note, the sales/estimator was not pushy or trying to up sell me at any point. If anything he was looking for the cheapest/most cost effective/least destructive options.) The whole team I interacted with was very friendly and on top of things, but especially the install team. They took great care of the place & left a clean house. Also, one of the manufacturer's rebates that looked like it had just barely expired. Green City folks were super nice and just credited that to me, so I ended up paying what we'd originally calculated. Really nice of them.

Technician was prompt, he called a little before the scheduled time window and was able to arrive a few minutes before the scheduled time. Nice I didn't have to wait around. Very friendly, and knowledgeable. Didn't try to upsell. My only suggestion is that the company provides technicians with booties to cover boots when walking through the house; it was rainy that day and we would have appreciated protecting the floors from dirt.

Went well for the most part. When I called it was the middle of summer and they wre busy so it took a couple of weeks to get to me. Upon walkthrough/estimate visit our existing thermostat was originally determied to be the type that would operate the new A/C equipment. When they went to hook up the new A/C the thermostat did not have the proper terminals to connect to.for the A/C side. The, technician on site just replaced the old thermostate with a new one that would work. It's not a fancy one, but it does the job and was provided at no additional cost.. Then this fall, I used my furnace a few times and everything was ok until one day, the inducer fan was making a gurgling noise and would not let the furnace ignite. It turns out that the exhaust vent for the furnace was angled such that condensation was trapped in it until it filled up with water. This vent angle had been moved to the incorrect angle when the A/C was installed to allow for the new refrigerant lines room to connect. When I called about this problem they came out the next business day and corrected the situation at no charge. I understnad mistakes happen sometiimes and they owned up to theirs and corrected them quickly. I like a business that I dont' have to argue with to get what I paid for. in this case honesty and taking responsibility trumps perfect installation. I'll continue to use them as I have the need for A/C work and recommend them as I have the opportunity

-I was unaware the heat pump was non functioning. So I was surprised. I cannot give you an over all rating because the service ended there. It looks like I cannot send this back without the over all grade...I will put the lowest grade because it was a very unhappy ending for me......not the fault of the provider.

Service person called and asked if he could come early, which was perfect for me, arrived withing 5 mins of that call and serviced my furnace in about 30 mins. He was very friendly and explained everything he was doing.

.checked out the very old furnace and serviced it in the home we bought this summer. Advised me to MAKE SURE we had carbon monoxide detectors installed. Took time to answer every question I had. Showed me where and how to light the pilot light and change the filters. He vacuumed up all the soot the furnace had blown out when it started up in the fall

Larry the technician was a great guy. All work was performed. Larry spent time with me regarding my WiFi thermostat and also said he could help me with an estimate for a heat pump or AC unit. He was very patient and took his time explaining questions I had. I have been looking for an honest and professional heating and AC company as I am in real estate and own other properties. I was very happy with this visit and hope to continue my heating and cooling needs with Green City.

The manufacturers representative in Seattle referred me to Green City Heating after some concerns were expressed about another contractors work to my existing boiler. The work was done in a timely fashion and the new boiler and hot water tank is operating right now. Jeff was kind enough to spend time with me and showed me an installation that he did in Seattle before I agreed to the bid. I had multiple contractors bid for the work and Green City's bid was competitive when I compared the other bids. I would recommend Green City to others.

Service was thorough and professional. All my personal interactions with the staff and service person were friendly and cordial. The service person was held up by traffic and ended up being about an hour late but contacted me in a timely manner to make sure the delay was acceptable. I appreciated that. In addition to servicing the furnace, the service person provided me with useful information about the furnace and carbon monoxide detectors and air conditioning. as well as answering questions about replacement costs, rebates, and an honest estimate of cost savings from increased efficiency. Specifically, I never felt I had purchased a camouflaged sales pitch. I liked dealing with these folks and would, based on my experience, recommend them.

Larry- the service tech came over at the appointed time, I had thought my furnace had not firing up, but the previous week I noted it was working, so there was no repair involved, but he did a thorough checking and diagnosed some fan bearing issues that were likely to fail down the road, he also checked a ceiling mounted garage heater that I don't use regularly and it fired up as well. He was very professional and gave me some advice on some other work I was going to need done (not by his company, he wasn't pushing me for more work but answering my questions)

It went great. He found a leak in our gas heat exchanger (30+years old) and wrote up an estimate for a couple replacement options. Did a great job describing the pros and cons of the different options.

I was extremely impressed with this company. I had not used them before but would definitely use them again. This was s standard maintenance check for the furnace. The appt. was confirmed the day before and I was notified on the appt. day when the technician was about 20 minutes away. He spent a good 30 -40 minutes checking the furnace out and explained everything he was doing when i asked.

They did a furnace tune-up. They were professional and prompt. I have used them several times in the past for other services. They recommended products that would help with my allergies. I ended up getting that work done as well, and I can really tell a dramatic difference in the air quality.

Aharon was so great. He was really nice and explained everything to me. He was honest. My systems are fine for now, and he wasn't try to sell me things I didn't need. He even came back when I made the mistake of not getting the filters back in before running the heat (and something flew in there). It was completely my fault, it turns out, and he was so nice about it. I highly recommend this company. They are small and very responsive - and ethical.

On time, efficient and helpful

We purchased this service as a "Big Deal" coupon. This was our first time using this company. The service technician, Larry was great! He was very friendly. He took the time needed to make sure that the job was done thoroughly and that we knew and understood everything that he had done. He gave us a detailed invoice after completion of the job. We also asked for and were given a quote for a future cleaning of our gas fireplace insert. We are very pleased with Green City and will definitely use them again!!
