Green City Heating and Air Conditioning

I am really happy with the result. Green City was great to deal with before, during and after the installation. Honest pricing and properly sized solution from the beginning - no games. (Seven contractors contacted for bids; three made second round calls; Green City offered best package right from the start.) Experienced and focused team delivered what they promised on schedule. Did not try to negotiate price adjustment when surprises came up during installation. They just overcame the challenges and completed the job. They were responsive with post-install technical support - on something that turned out to be my misunderstanding not a functional issue - but they were there promptly for me. Summary: Good people, Quality work, Fair pricing.

These guys did a great job with a complete system overhaul. Even with my less than ideal situations they were completely professional and didn’t respond in a begrudgingly way to my requests. Came in with the best estimate with better equipment than a couple other companies I’d contacted about this job. Very reasonable negotiating within my budget. Jeff was my pointman on the job but his two main guys during this install (I’m terrible with names) were very professional and courteous and patient with me and my family. Jeff even got me prioritized with a vent cleaning company to come out during the install to clean my vents. Thoroughly impressed.

We were so impressed with Green City from start to finish! Isaac was an excellent communicator and facilitator. He didn't try to sell me an expensive furnace, he helped me get the right furnace. The installers took their time to get the job done right. Everyone I talked to was friendly and helpful. We love our new furnace and will definitely call Green City when we're ready to install the actual air conditioning unit in the future. I'll be recommending Green City to our friends and neighbors as a great local company that gets the job done at the right price.

we were lied to - the company (that we had already hired to do the furnace - that was fine) said that there is no such thing as a remote control gas log set so we settled and purchased theirs (should have done our home work, but we are first time home owners and trusted too easily. We know better now). Not only did they lie, they forgot a part on the chimney, so rain came pouring in. When we called about it they gave a song and dance about "the part Just came in! what a coincidence!". When they came to fix that, they used the wrong ladder to access the chimney which resulted in a big dent in our gutter. Although I have called and spoken to Murphy SEVERAL times (5 or 6) it's been 7 months, and his promises of following up go unfulfilled. When I called again last week to ask someone to call me back because the fireplace isn't working (not even a year old) and we may need it fixed or serviced - i was promised a call back, by Murphy, and i just rolled my eyes. We are done trying to work with them. their products and service are awful, and their follow through is non existent. I would look up the warranty on the FP, but i just want to work with a better company and forget these fools ever existed. I will tell anyone NOT to hire them.

Due to recently being diagnosed with bad allergies, I needed to find a place to install an air purification system for my home. Everyone at Green City was extremely helpful, patient and knowledgeable. Jeff came out for the initial consultation and gave me several options for Air purification systems and furnaces that would allow me to run it 24/7 that were much quieter than the furnace that was installed when our home was built 14 years ago. We called, emailed and texted back and forth many times and he gave me full pricing breakdowns for several different options which allowed my wife and I to find the right equipment for our needs and budget. We ended up also having Green City install a new water heater. On installation day the crew arrived on time and got right to work. Alex was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the few questions that I had. They finished several hours ahead of schedule and did a fantastic job. I’m extremely glad I chose Green City to install our Air Purification system. I’m all set for allergy protection as well as next year’s wildfires. We are so satisfied with their service that we are even planning to have them install air conditioning for us next spring. Highly recommended!

They did a wonderful job of meeting with me and going over the details and suggestions of an all new system. Matt was my estimator and he was very knowledgeable and pleasant, no high pressure sales technics. Their bid for the mid range package including a bunch of extra ductwork was very reasonable at $18k and Lennox is well rated by Consumer Reports. I ultimately chose to go with a Bryant which is installed by a different company (similar price) . I felt bad because Matt was so easy to work with, helpful and punctual.

Would highly recommend Green City if you need your furnace and/or your air conditioner replaced. Although there was a bit of a snafu with the initial consultation, Jeff, the owner made things right. He personally came down to assess our residence and current units and provided a competitive bid in the matter of days. Throughout the entire process there was excellent, timely communication both via email, text, and phone calls. The entire installation crew including Alex, Devin, Robert, and Murphy were professional, thorough, and efficient. Our experience with Green City has been nothing but great. Jeff came out to provide us with a quote and was very upfront about some of the challenges that we might face given the layout of our house. Not unexpected since we also had other companies tell us the same. But, we made the decision to go with Green City based on a previous experience with the company (furnace servicing) as well as their pricing. The installation of a new furnace, A/C and thermostat went extremely smoothly. Isaac and team were professional and did the work with minimum disruption to us. They provided advice and instruction on the new system as well. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.

Very pleased with my choice. My experience with a smaller family-owned and operated business in the HVAC world has been consistently better than the bigger companies.

Matt and the team at Green City provided us with an awesome HVAC and hot water upgrade, working with us to evaluate our current system, goals, costs, and benefits to find the perfect systems. Matt’s initial visit to the house was both efficient and comprehensive: evaluating our current system and capabilities and listening to the options we wanted to explore and add. Within a few days, he had an estimate with an initial set of options spanning a few different cost and feature ranges. After a few iterations via e-mail, we had settled on an HVAC system that fit our desires perfectly, and even opted to take advantage of the opportunity to upgrade to a tankless hot water heater at the same time. Throughout the discussions, I was particularly impressed that Matt took the time to make sure that we were well-informed buyers that knew what to expect from our system in terms of operational costs and system functionality so that there would be no surprises in any way. This made for a very informed decision on our part and Matt’s prompt communication even allowed us to take advantage of some Lennox rebates just before they expired. When the installation date arrived, Matt and the team were at the house at exactly 8:00 a.m. with a plan to perform the HVAC and tankless water heater installation all within the same day – they got right to work and completed the project by about 3:00 p.m. Within a couple hours they had the old HVAC system and hot water tank removed and had started running the new heat pump lines, carefully moving any garage items in the way as they went. Throughout the process they were very courteous and respectful of the house, giving us regular updates and letting us know whenever they needed something or needed questions answered. By the time 2:00 p.m. rolled around, we had hot water running and were watching as the crew started running installation tests on the new HVAC system and configuring the new thermostat. When they were done, we had a perfectly-running HVAC system and tankless hot water heater to keep us comfortable. The entire experience was absolutely ideal from our perspective: the service was excellent, pricing was competitive, equipment is top-notch in terms of features and efficiency, and the installation handled very professionally and completely (permits and all). Matt and the Green City team have been great with their post-installation experience, providing answers to any follow-up questions we had and sending along the appropriate permits for us to schedule final inspections with the city.

From start to finish, this company is a class act. I got six different quotes for a new heating and air system. We were trying to decide between ductless and ducted and thanks to Jeff taking the time to sit with us and discuss our needs, he helped us decide. We opted for the ductless system. Jeff was always there to answer questions as we navigated through our decision. Their quote was very reasonable. They weren't the least expense and they weren't the most expensive. The installers were clean, quick and professional. I highly recommend Jeff and his crew!

I had Green City Heating come out to repair a leak on the exhaust vent of our furnace which had allowed water into the furnace which caused some rust. Murphy was very responsive with a quick look at some photos I sent, and sent a technician out to repair the leak. Tyler came out and fixed the issues quickly, professionally and under warranty. He was super patient with questions and gave clear explanations of the problem, the fix, and things to look out for in the future. I will absolutely use Green City Heating for future work on our furnace.

The Green City team did a great job installing a ductless 4-zone mini-split system into my home. We discussed several options for adding A/C, and Matt who helped me with the estimate and on-site worked with me to discuss options for aesthetics, performance, and efficiency. His attention to my concerns about how the install would look in the interior and exterior is one of the reasons I chose Green City. The install went well, and since I own an older home, we couldn't run the refrigerant lines through the attic as we expected. The team came up with good alternative options, and in the end there was minimal impact to the exterior of the home. That, and running the conduit around the exterior looks way better than I had imagined. They professionally completed the job with courtesy and attention to detail, and now I'm happy to enjoy my home even more with the comfort of air conditioning. I already recommended them to a few friends!

My experience with green city was amazing start to finish. Jeff came out and did our quote and answered every question I had. He fit me with the right product for my need and didn’t try to over or under sell what our home needed. The crew that came out to install was professional and did an amazing job. After 20 years I needed to replace my furnace and decided it was a good time to add A/C to my house. I reached out to 3 vendors for quotes. I was put off by 2 of the 3 as they were focused on making a sale and throwing up red flags for additional cost. Jeff at Green City came to my home, made observations about a couple of things that needed repairing (new return vents) and was very straightforward about them. He also did not try to sell the top of the line equipment but rather units that fit the foot print of my home. Jeff and his team followed through each and every time. When a problem arose with the installation, the Green City crew returned on a Saturday to complete the work. Jeff and his team at Green City did what they said they would do, handled issues professionally and promptly, and were very easy to work with - highly responsive. I recommend them highly.

They give a very good price but we had a couple of problems. They came for a furnace check and shut off the furnace saying it was unsafe. We asked them to install a new one but they could not install a thermostat that we wanted. They charged us a fee to come out a second time to install a thermostat. On another occasion, they connected a line wrong.

Amazingly! Between the diagnostic on my current furnace and the completed new product was about a 5 days during the week of the New Year. I’m so pleased with everything! Jeff and Taylor and their team are spot on, prompt, respectful and just plain nice! Thanks so much!

I have several properties and have screened and hired many HVAC companies. I found the combination of their field staff together with their management staff to be exceptionally competent and priced competitively if not hard to beat. Will be keeping them on my short list for future projects.

Wonderful experience. Tyler, our service tech, was very helpful and informative. He was even early for our appointment (loved it). I have already placed Green City on our calendar for next year's annual furnace check up.

The tech was very courteous, and explained in detail the condition of the heat exchanger and the likely life it has remaining.

Overall, well. Initially, they wanted to schedule us out a month. Although we didn't need an immediate repair due to the hotter weather, we wanted to get the dead furnace fixed sooner than later. They scheduled us for about two weeks out, which was acceptable. A day or two later, they called and said they had a cancellation and could come out a few days later. They were right on time; prompt and efficient in completing the diagnosis and the repair. The cost was a bit higher than expected, but not unreasonable. (...Especially when compared to a recent automobile repair.)

Swift work, professional, unclogged a drain pipe in the Ac that was cause a water leak. Only complaint was that the technician was 20 minutes late with no phone call. Other than that it was a great experience.
