Green City Heating and Air Conditioning

From the start this was a pleasant experience. The initial phone call with Tai was very professional. The Salesman (Chris) that came to our house really impressed me. Instead of taking advantage of what little I knew about Heat Pumps, he proceeded to help educate me on the advantages and disadvantages of having one. Of all of the contractors that came to place a bid, he was the only one that sized the pump for the house in its current condition (haven't installed vinyl windows at that time). He was thorough in his evaluation, from the power source to how many registers this unit will require. (the builder and previous owner neglected to have registers in one of the bedrooms and a spare room they had built). This was to be a complete upgrade of our heating system. When it came time to have the unit installed, Eric, Evan (the Heat Pump Installers) Nick and his assistant (Electric contractor) were very professional and patient with me for I had a lot of questions during installations. What they thought would take two full days that would have finished in one if not for my many interruptions. Even though we had a couple of challenges with the electrical inspection, Green City was more than accommodating in addressing the concerns of the inspector. As stated earlier, this was a complete upgrade of our heating system and I had difficulty in programing the thermostat. Instead of talking me through it over the phone, they sent a technician assist me on getting the best setting for our home. Over all I am very happy with the service I received from the everyone I encountered.

The guy showed up on time. He called you when he was on the way. It was very easy to get a hold of the company on the phone. He did a good job explaining what needed to be done. I did not have to pay anything extra then what was included in the deal. I would recommend them to people. He works very professionally.

They told us that our return vents were too small for them to install a unit. However, the other two companies who came out and gave us an estimate, didn't seem to have any problems with them, as they are the width of our joists. It was a bit odd.

Excellent. We are so relieved that we called Green City to help us out of the mess another company had got us into. In a matter of a few short weeks during a busy season for fixing cooling systems we had a working heat pump, furnace and air-handler. They gave us expert, practical advice. They didn't try to recommend super expensive but unnecessary solutions. They got the system up and running quickly. Every person we dealt with from the office to the technicians that came out were professional and knew what they were doing. What a relief. We will be calling Green City for our future heating/cooling needs.

Tech came out assessed, determined the issue and made the repairs quickly.

They replaced the heating system (boiler) and did an outstanding job. They also referred me to a very reputable company to remove asbestos which was helpful and extended customer service by them. Very thorough and did exactly what they said they would. The guys came right on time and were friendly. Jeff himself was present as well and he was great to work with. I highly, highly recommend them to others and will hire again in the future!

Estimator was pleasant and professional. We picked Green City because they offered a somewhat lower bid on the project, compared to some of the usual big name HVAC outfits. Installers arrived on time. They arrived in a battered looking truck, a little unprofessional - neighbors thought we were having plumbing problems, judging by the markings on the truck. The installation was completed on time. Installers took reasonable steps to keep my house clean while installing the heat pump. Initially the indoor unit was installed crookedly- after getting over the shock of seeing such a sloppy installation, I pointed out there error. Installer seemed a bit miffed and made some strange excuses, but did correct the problem. Other parts of the installation - wiring and outdoor unit - looked reasonably tidy after completion of the job. The heat pump functions well after installation. The installation passed building inspections, but the electrical inspector was concerned about the use of 14 gauge wire with a 20 amp breaker - this is not standard practice, usually the heavier 12 gauge wire is used for 20 amp circuits. He approved the installation anyway, but only after examining the name plate amp rating of the heat pump. Overall I will give this contractor a cautious B rating, downgraded due to the issues mentioned. As always don't rely solely on Angies List when investigating potential contractors. Ratings here and on other user review sites are often pumped up with fake reviews, and A ratings may not be truly merited.

Top notch. No complaints. Everything went well--scheduling the estimate and install, prompt callbacks when I had questions, responsive customer service. The two installers were punctual, courteous, professional and did an excellent job. Lennox unit working very well. Gold stars all around.

The service came out alright. They were late though.

Estimator showed up and was very professional. They (as it seems man HVAC contractors) have their subset of manufacturers products they provide. The issue I encountered is there were just too many configurations of units presented: The estimator gives me a brochure and says "here's a brochure of 20 systems, tell me which 2/3 you want me to bid". Chinese menu problem - I cannot start to evaluate that large selection on the spot without doing some research on my own. Then looking at the furnace, the estimator talked down the quality of that brand (Trane) .. nothing endears you to the customer like telling them the system in their house is crap, when its a major brand top line solution. (if it was bobs-home-rolled no-name brand I'd buy that, but not a major top brand; its unprofessional at the least, and lying at the worst). Their product lines required a proprietary signalling system thermostat replacement at great expense. Nope, not going with that bid. The estimating process just left an uncomfortable and bad taste in my mouth. The bid was the best priced but I wasn't buying it.

They did a good job. There was an issue with the heat pump within two weeks of installation and they were able to get out right away to fix it.

They went way out of their way to provide excellent service. The workers were polite. They did very good work and I'm very happy with it. Other companies would have charged me almost $5000 more for the same work; they also gave me a 5 year warranty on parts and labor. I'm very happy that I chose to work with them.

We hired GreenCity to install a new Daikin heating and cooling system in our home and we are extremely happy with the product. They have excellent customer service and knowledge of their products. The installation of our new system was done professionally and to our high standards. We would strongly recommend GreenCity to anyone in need of a new heating and cooling system.

install was done very nicely, they adapted to the need for a longer coolant line than standard in order to keep the unit location i preferred. It really turned out how i wanted and looks very professional. Thanks guys!

Great service. We collected 3 bids. Green city was highly competitive and gave us lots of good information on what the job entailed. Very professional all the way through the process. Would definitely use them again!

Appointment: Had a time set up, rep called a few hours early and tried to move it up. We couldn't do that. When he arrives at scheduled appointment time he makes a point to tell me he had to sit in his car for a few hours by the airport in town to wait. An appointment is an appointment. Guy arrives. Doesn't take shoes off, no booties. Maybe that's not a requirement, but out of 7 quotes, he's the 1 guy who didn't do one of the two. We go to the garage, guy asks to borrow my ladder. Guy asks to borrow my tools to open the heater. Seriously? Then he almost forgets to put the cover back on the furnace - I have to physically show him that he missed 1 of 2 covers. Talk about what we want. Very specific that we wanted a quote for a new furnace and AIR CONDITIONER. Sales guy kept pushing a heat pump. After repeatedly telling him I didn't want a heat pump, he kept pushing it. Finally get it through we don't want a heat pump. Asked for a quote for 3 different options. Said we'd get it that night. Didn't arrive. I e-mailed the next day and asked for it - and what I get has errors throughout. Wrong model numbers (cut and paste errors really). All in all really sloppy sales job. Price was competitive, but we had little confidence in the company after this fumbled quote.

It was great from the beginning to the end. I had 3 bids. Mike was great. He really listened to my needs and found the best unit for my house and usage patterns. The day of install, the gentlemen rolled up with 3 trucks and expertly took my old furnace away and installed the furnace and A/C. The team all worked together very well and were done in about 5-6 hours. they cleaned up their mess and swept my garage at the same time. they made sure they should me how to use my new thermostat and gave me instructions on all of my new equipment. They made the whole process painless.

Green City was easy to work with. The installers were prompt and got the work done fast.

I tried contacting them a number of times, but after more than two weeks I never got a response to get an appointment set up and asked for a refund for Angie's List.

Very good service. They did an excellent install quickly and went above and beyond when I asked them to do some specific things that I wanted to improve the look of the install.
