The company charged me a consultation fee, which is what all companies do. However, the technician just made a few simple adjustments. The problems were diagnosed, but were not fixed. The technician told me to call them back if the problem happened again. He also told me that they wouldn't charge me a diagnostic fee again and that I would just have to pay parts and labor. The problem happened again the next morning, so I called them back. The receptionist told me that they were going to charge me again for the diagnostic fee and said that maybe the furnace would have to be replaced. I decided to call another company even though they charge more for the diagnostic because I want it done right the first time.

PHENOMENAL SERVICE, GREAT WORK AND REALLY GOOD PEOPLE! After moving into our first home, we discovered Green City Heating on Angie’s List and purchased a coupon for a furnace tune up. We had some initial mishaps with scheduling, but the company was excellent about taking responsibility and making amends. They sent a tech out the following Saturday to complete the job and even refunded the price paid for the coupon. Unfortunately, a week later, the igniter on our furnace stopped working (it was a very old furnace and had been giving us problems since the day we moved in). I called Green City to see if they could send tech out to try and get the igniter started again as a temporary fix. We knew we needed to replace the furnace, but our finances were strapped as we had just bought the house (read: moneypit) that same month and had experienced multiple problems that needed immediate fixes. Now, we were without heat and I have a 3 year-old son and am currently 4 months pregnant which made it a really, really stressful time. Green City to the rescue! They sent Trevor to check the igniter and he was all-around amazing. A very respectful, knowledgeable and incredibly hard working guy. The furnace was definitely on its last legs, but he spent close to an hour working on the unit until he got it to light again. We discussed options for a more long-term fix, which involved either ordering new parts for the faulty igniter or replacing the unit altogether. A few days later, I received a call from Green City asking how our furnace was running and if we still had heat. I said that yes, the igniter was still problematic but at least it was functioning, which would hopefully buy us some time until we could afford to replace the unit. Then, they delivered some unexpected news: apparently each year, GCH’s owners Katrina and Jeff gift a free furnace around the holidays as a way give back to the community. Somehow, we were this year’s lucky recipients! After I got over the initial shock, I literally cried b/c I was so amazed and thankful. I mean, does this really happen in real life?! Tyler came a few days later to install the unit and Jeff showed up at the end of the appointment to make sure everything was running smoothly. They walked us through the install and how the new unit operates, shook our hands and congratulated us on our new furnace. We now have consistent heat (thankfully just in time for the below freezing temps this week) and I couldn’t be more grateful. As a local, family-owned business, it’s clear that people and customers matter to them (as well as good, solid work and pride in what they do). They were responsive, courteous and generous throughout all of our dealings. We are so lucky to have found Green City Heating and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping my family safe and warm this winter!

Workers arrived on time, repaired the necessary components, and left in a timely manner. Everything now seems fine and works as expected. Communication was a bit difficult as they said they'll follow up numerous times but did not. I had to actively engage them in order to obtain an response. They said they would come and do a check up a week after completion of the project but never scheduled a visit.

The guy who came out was friendly, professional, efficient and was on time and got right to work. Did the service, and explained completely what he found/did. Thank You

It went well. Walter arrived on time, checked and cleaned everything and test fired the furnace. He gave me a read-out before he left and was very professional.

The technician called to let me know he was running a few minutes late, which I really appreciated. This is the second time using Green City and I'll use them again.

There were a couple of missteps with getting the service scheduled. The first appointment we had resulted in the technician showing up a few hours early, and I wasn't home. Rather than having the technician come back at the scheduled time, they required that we reschedule the appointment (two week delay). Then the day before the second appointment they called asking if we could move it to the next day, because that were short of technicians that day. I declined their request and the technician came as scheduled. Once the technician came. he did a good job and we were happy with the service, but the scheduling missteps would prevent us from using Green City Heating again.

Overall Green City Heating and Air Conditioning will not be receiving any service calls from me in the future if my furnace breaks down again. The technician that serviced my Honeywell furnace (2007) diagnosed the problem correctly and the furnace seems to operate fine now. However, I think the company could educate their technicians on customer service, attitude, respect, and communication of the services to be performed.

Extremely well! Thai (sp.) was great to deal with in the office, always prompt with any details and reminders. Jeff gave me a timely estimate once the technician assessed that i needed to replace my 17yo furnace. The installers were on time, and very professional, knowledgeable and respectful of my home and pets. Alex was very informative and helpful! I would definitely recommend Jeff and his team for their services.

Excellent. Trevor showed up on time, quickly replaced the igniter and performed the annual maintenance. He went out of his way to answer all my questions and show me a problem developing likely due to an installation problem which I will take up with the company that installed the furnace. I had shopped around, and their prices were fair and policies excellent.

Excellent, timely arrival. I worked in my garage while he serviced my furnace, he pointed out a number of education points to me that I did not know. Easily recommend them without question.
