Green City Heating and Air Conditioning

I had them give me a quote back in February. We put it off until it got hot (of course) and they honored the pricing from months ago. We scheduled an appointment, they were out on time, finished on time and came back,the following day to do some additional duct work my husband requested. Also punctual and completed as expected. Tylor did a great job! Showed us how to set it, and the best way to use it. Ty in the office was always pleasant and helpful when I called. They also installed our furnace 18 months ago (in November when it broke a month after we moved into this house). They were very accommodating, even offering to bring in portable heaters until it could be installed the next day. Would highly recommend these guys!

The tech was punctual, professional, and seemed knowledgeable. He performed the desired maintenance and check up and basically gave us a report card on our unit.

Easy to schedule an appointment for an estimate. Cost was in line with other bids; we specifically wanted the Daikin heat pump which was the deciding factor to go with Green City. It took about 2 weeks to schedule the work once we signed the contract. There was a miscommunication between the estimator and the install team, so they were getting ready to punch a hole through the foundation when they should have been going through the attic. I work full time, so wasn't there to supervise, but fortunately the person I had let them in called me with a question and I was able to redirect where they should have been putting the wiring. I didn't feel like we were given clear instruction on how to get the permits approved by the County and State, and when I called for clarification, I never heard back from anyone at Green City. I finally figured it out on my own, and then the electrical work did not pass inspection so Green City had to hire another electrician to come out and fix the wiring (for what I understand to have been something very basic and shouldn't have been missed in the first place). All in all, between installation, the various surveys, and the repair this process required having someone home during the day on 6 occasions. We've had the equipment for 2 months now and are very happy with the comfort level of our home (the cooling feature is nice to have this time of year), and our electric bills are already starting to see an impact.

We had a couple of things where we had to go back and forth a couple of times for the water heater. We were expecting a service and that kind of stuff and it didn't happen. We had to have somebody come back out so that would be more of a B experience for me. They were punctual both times so I would give them an A. They said that they were going to do a service on the air conditioner as well when they were out there. And then when they came out to do the install, they said no no somebody else has to do the service on the air conditioner. They told me that somebody was gonna come out and do the install and that, and then they said no no no somebody else has to come out and do that. So they had to come out another time to do that. So, it was a little less convenient. On responsiveness, because of back and forth I am going to go with a B.

I thought they did a very good job with the install of the air conditioning system. It's been working great since. There was one thing identified on the inspection when the city inspector came out to look at it where they had to come back out and install a different type of locking nut on something on the exterior. Other than that, everything else went fine with that. They were out there prompt and gave us a good explanation of what they were going to be doing and what it was going to cost and all those things. For quality, I'm going to go with a "B" just because we had to have somebody come back out to do a couple of adjustments to it. Some of those things, I suspected, should have been something they knew about when they installed it but overall it's been good. They've been punctual both times.

There was an Angie's list deal and I bought two so I could have both the furnace and air conditioner checked. The service provider came on time, checked everything out, cleaned the filters, etc. He was fast and efficient and did a good job as far as I know - both are working well.

They replaced a heating element and did a system check. Quick and easy. Recommended getting heat pump checked in summer.

They did a great job! They were very prompt and were pleasant people to work with.

The technician was very professional and on time. He extended the condensation discharge to properly have it away from the back step. There was not charge for that particular service. I will definitely use Green City Heating again.

It went fine. Once I contacted them they scheduled pretty quick.

They discovered I had a small refrigerant leak in the cooling coils. Because my unit is from the 20th century (I don't know if an AC check-up has ever been done before) my refrigerant is outdated and replaced with one that doesn't work with my unit. My refrigerant is over $500 and to repair the leak the cost was totaled at $750 (cheaper than replacing my unit!). The leak is fixed and the unit is running fine but the compressor sounds iffy. If in the future, should the compressor fail and I buy a new unit from Green City the $750 will be deducted from the price of the new unit. It should be noted that in late 2016, I had someone clean my ducts and furnace. In that process, he cleaned the AC cooling coils and said they were so dirty that it was remarkable that my compressor still functioned. My techs were Walter and Robert. They were prompt, very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable.

Trevor did an awesome job of performing the tuneups and identifying a problem and fixed it at a very reasonable price. He had to come out for a follow-up issue and again was very professional and assessed the problem immediately at no additional charge. Would definitely hire again.

They were very efficient and knowledgeable about their products and services and I am very pleased with the results. The two rooms that are now heated by the ductless air conditioners are much warmer (previously heated by electric baseboard heaters). I look forward to their cooling during those hot summer days when Seattle gets into the high 80's and 90's. The technician who tuned up my furnace was also very efficient and seemed to know what he was doing. He reported on the current condition of my fairly new furnace and reconnected a safety wire that had been disconnected when the water condensation pump was replaced (by me!).

Have one bid and was going to get two more, and wanted to include this company based on Angie's List recommendations. I called and was immediately put on hold, then disconnected. I thought "hey, everyone can have a bad day" so I tried again. Exact same thing happened. So now I'll go down the list and find other providers - there are plenty of them. One of them will get my money, but not Green City

Great. The technician was everything I would want. He taught me a few things about our system.

They refunded me the tune up package fee and put in a new furnace the next day for a price that was less than I had imagined it might cost. The installation crew of Matt and Alex were great. Now I have a new Lennox furnace that should last and last and last.

It went very well. Everything was good. They took a look at everything and everything is working just fine.

They were on time and finish the work in a reasonable time. They cleaned up the work area after they were done. The person explained to me how the unit works and how to operate the thermostat.

If found Green City Heating & Air Conditioning to be professional and attentive from the first time I called. I found them through Angie's List and had a few questions about our HVAC system. They were one of two businesses to refer us first to Aurora Edmonds for duct cleaning. When we called back to have our furnace inspected and tuned up, the person I spoke with listened to all of my questions and decided to schedule the lead technician to come to our home. He arrived on schedule, asked a few questions, and got to work. When finished, he answered a few more questions I had and left a quote for having some of the ventilation system replaced, explaining why he recommended the repair. We will definitely hire again for our next maintenance.

I was pleased with them. They were a young company so there were some things that should be smoothed out overall, but I think they are competitive in terms of the service and the prices.

Bad, unresponsive customer service. I will think twice about hiring a company who does not return phone calls or honor commitment to do what they say they'll do.

In the end we got what seems like a good furnace, heat pump, and thermostat at a competitive price, though there were bumps in the road. Salesman sold us on a high priced thermostat that ended up not working -- they replaced with a less expensive one that worked. Installers were very nice and well mannered but not sure they had a thorough knowledge of what they were doing. They couldn't figure out how to complete the job. We were left with a clattering system. A tech came out to fix it, and after he left we discovered the system didn't work at all, so we spent the night with no furnace or heat pump heat at all. Then there was indecision on whether or not we needed a new vent. Everyone kept at it, though, and eventually it got done and the system seems to work fine, and I like the price. I would use this provider again.
