DRAIN AWAY PLUMBING

Honest and professional. When you call, a nice lady answers to schedule your appointment, not some guy in the middle of a job. The plumber showed up on time. I had nasty tree roots in a foundation drain pipe. He quoted me $330 for the job, which was reasonable. He then proceeded to spend a couple hours trying to remove the roots. He got several feet out of the upstream end, but the downstream pipe was hopelessly clogged and probably broken. Since he could not clear that end of the pipe he only charged me $99 (with senior discount), which I thought was very generous. I would certainly call them again for my plumbing needs.

Initial response was good and asked what day I wanted. I choose Thursday. Confirmed on Wednesday for Thursday. After waiting for half the day, I decided to call and left a message. I was then contacted that they would try to show up Thursday afternoon but could I do Friday instead. Fortunately, for me I was able to be home both days so indicated that I would prefer the work to get done Thursday but I could wait until Friday. No show for both days that agreed to come. Never bothered to call or text would be late or had to reschedule. How they have an A rating is certainly a mystery to me. I wouldn't (and wont') waste any more time with this company.

We've liked them in the past. The service varies from provider to provider, and from plumber to plumber that you get, we've had great service from plumbers, and we've had not so great service from plumbers. This particular instance, he was good, he did what we asked and he left in a timely manner.

I called at 4:25pm on Sunday (regular working hours) and explained that I needed an emergency repair to replace an outdoor faucet and asked if they could send someone out that day. He got all the information then asked if I would like a 9-2 appointment or 2-5 the next day. I reiterated that I needed someone to come out that day and if they couldn't, I would just call another plumber. He said he would dispatch it and someone would call me when they were available. After hearing nothing for two hours, I called again at 6:25pm to get an update. Whoever I talked to did not have access to the original order, but again I told him that I needed someone today because I had no water because I could not turn it on until the faucet was replaced. He acted like he understood, then after re-taking my information he asked if I preferred 9-2 or 2-5. AGAIN, I emphasized that I needed someone TODAY and if they couldn't do it, I would just call another plumber. He said he would text that information to the on call person and that I would be contacted. I heard nothing, so call another plumber who responded with a call within 1/2 hour that they were on their way. Drain Away may be a perfectly fine plumbing company for regularly scheduled work, but if you have an emergency, I suggest you look elsewhere.

They were prompt and I was pleased because they fixed the problem.

Drain-Away answered my after-hours call, made arrangements for a review of the situation the next morning, showed-up on time, evaluated the situation and immediately informed me, then charged a reasonable amount despite the situation being a false alarm by the tenant.

Erin arrived on schedule and got right to work. While inside the cabinet, he neatly cut out the wood and drywall. Not easy to do in such a tight place. He located the leak and found that a section of the drain had to be cut out and a new section had to be built to replace it. Because access was so limited in the wall he had to use a cable saw and two fingers to cut out the section of the pipe. He rebuilt the new section just like the old section, which had some twists and turns, and connected it to our existing drain. A difficult problem fixed! Because Erin was so careful about removing the cabinet back and drywall, it made my husband's job of putting it all back together much easier. Erin was very professional and friendly, as well as skilled at his trade. I would not hesitate to call this company back if I ever have plumbing problems again.

My wife initially contacted Drain Away to obtain a quote. They indicated they would try to get someone out later that same day. About 2 hours later, Matt was pulling up to the house. I wish they would have called first but, not complaining with such fast service. I reviewed the quote and felt it was very reasonable. We called back 3 days later to schedule the work and received an appointment only a couple days out. Matt arrived with his assistant and made quick work of the job. He charged exactly what was quoted minus a 10% discount for going through Angies List. Overall, very good guys, good price and very happy with the service. Others had quoted about $200 more to do the same job.

They were good. The rate was reasonable, the work was good and they were friendly.

I'm sure most plumbers with credible "A" ratings on Angie's List are very busy. I am very busy too and I do not have time to play phone tag with multiple plumbers trying to get them to call me back. I've done a ton of research and know what hot water heater I will buy at Home Depot along with the expansion tank. It appears to be a very easy and straight forward installation that your company can handle. Fortunately for me there are a lot of "A" rated plumbers so the plumber that gets back to me the quickest with an honest labor and parts quote will likely get my business (I can also send a photo of my current water heater to save time and help quote accuracy). They did a good job. He made some good suggestions. He was a nice guy. It took him about half an hour. He told me that the outside faucet needed to be fixed. He wasn't pushy and didn't try to sell me anything. I thought it was a good deal and he was on time. There was nothing bad and I would use him again.

Our headaches are over! We had Quest pipe that needed to be replaced. Got a good quote from Cory, which included fixing our leak before re-piping. Matt started the job a couple of days later, and worked tirelessly re-piping our two story home. We are very pleased with their professional and work. If you need a plumber don't hesitate in calling Drain Away.

The person coming to do the estimate never showed up and never called. I called the company shortly after the appointment time to see why they were late and if they were still coming. The receptionist took a message but had no information for me. The next day the owner called and left a message apologizing saying the estimater was out for the week and they didn't have his appointment book so didn't know what appointments he had. Cory said he would come out any time to give me an estimate just tell him when to be there. I left a message and never received a phone call back. I called a couple days later just in case he didn't get my first message and once again he didn't return my phone call. I used with another company.

the quote and service were great. the plumber who quoted the work was helpful and thorough. there were no surprises when the plumber who did the repairs came out the next day either. the repairs were quick and painless. they also went the extra mile to communicate to my insurance company. great service!

Very responsive and did a great job. Called for service on a Saturday and with in 2 hours the problem was fixed.

First time to purchase an Angie's List Big Deal ... I was never contacted by the company for an appointment. Then I forgot about it, until after the deal expired & never got around to calling them about it.

I called Monday morning... by Monday afternoon, Aaron was here to analyze and replaced the thermocouple. The job was completed quickly, efficiently and satisfactorily. I had not used services of DrainAway Plumbing services in the past but they will certainly be my go to guys for any plumbing needs in the future.

In every aspect this project went smooth and proficiently. Cory came and to do an initial evaluation and bid, then Aaron and Matt did the installation. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with their professionalism. They where prompt each morning and worked hard throughout the day. Each night they completely cleaned up. Where they had to dig for the new street pipe, they laid the dirt on a tarp to protect the rest of my lawn and reserved the sod they had dug up. They filled the trench and put the sod back and you can hardly tell where the dig was. They had to come back to do finishing touches, after my contractor built a wall, and they were quick to give me a time and date. The finished job is fantastic and I love my new tankless. They came out to help us find the source of a leak. When it was discovered to be in the aging pipe from the water main to the house, they provided a few different options for how we could solve it. They provided a full service estimate, but also suggested things that we could do ourselves, and other alternatives to save us some money. They also provided suggestions for how to work with the water district on both sign off and getting credit back for the high water bill from the leak. We had them lay the new pipe & do a full inspection when they were done. It was all done in a single afternoon, and while they got started somewhat later than planned, the work was done in a timely fashion with minimal disruption & good quality results. We felt like they provided the expertise, quick turnaround time, practical advice, and good quality work - we'd use them again.

UPDATE: Cory and I believe an assistant installed the new water heater. Unfortunately I was delayed in posting this so I don't remember exactly the details my husband shared with me but he was very pleased with Cory's work. There was a lot involved apparently, including running overflow pipes outside (which the mobile home installers should have done per code, but had not). This involved removing the skirting and crawling around under the home as well as drilling through to the outside. He also installed a drip pan under the water heater in case it ever leaks again (another item the home installers neglected). The inspector approved the work at his first inspection. We are very satisfied with Cory's work. Not only was his work top notch, we now have a larger capacity, more energy efficient water heater! First let me state that it is extremely difficult to impress my husband. So when he said last night that Cory impressed him? I was gobsmacked. We've been struggling with our water heater off and on for some time. First we discovered it leaked all over the room it was in and my husband fixed that leak himself. Then it quit outright a few weeks back. Hubs looked it all over and couldn't see anything wrong (he was raised by and worked with a contractor growing up so he usually knows what he's looking at). He must have hit a reset button though because it was working again by that evening. The last glitch before this incident involved our electrical panel and the breaker for the water heater. Hubs fixed that himself and things were fine until yesterday morning when I discovered there was no hot water. Again. Hubs started looking at water heaters online and I had only just received my Angie's List magazine the day before so I skimmed through the coupon pages to look at the plumbers listed there. Not only was DrainAway in the coupon section, they were also listed in the hall of fame or whatever it's called (sorry, I'm new to Angie's List). The main problem is that we live in a mobile home and the water heater is situated in a tiny closet in one of the bedrooms. There is no access from outside. DrainAway was the first place I called and Cory called me back very promptly. He said he'd be headed back to Auburn toward late afternoon and would come by to take a look. After examining our water heater, he said since it was thirty years old we were right that it should be replaced and he and promised us the estimate first thing in the morning. However, he took the time to replace the thermostat for us so we'd have hot water that night! And he said he didn't think it would be a problem if we decided to wait a few weeks to replace the whole unit. There was no charge for the thermostat or his time! In addition, as he was leaving we started chatting about growing fresh veggies and herbs and he gave us some tips, pointed us to a website we hadn't heard of and was generally very pleasant.
