He contacted me to see if I needed work done. He arrived on time when he was giving me the estimate. I haven't chosen any painters for the job yet.

Started great. They washed the outside, then started to scrape and paint the house. Everyday they cleaned up, so there was no mess. Then it rained and they stopped work. We went on vacation for a week and they finished the painting while we were gone. When we returned, the house was painted but 2 doors were not painted. The decks and yard were covered with paint scrapings. The skylights had not been covered and had paint spray on them. As I inspected the paint job, I found many places where they painted over loose paint and rotten wood. They sent me a bill that was more than the estimate because they said they spent more time scraping than anticipated. They started in September and finished in November.

I called Doug and he came out that same day to look at the job and give me an estimate. He was very responsive and eager to work with us. He suggested buying some paint colors to test on the house, and we are glad we did. John, who painted the house and shed, was knowledgeable about his craft (e.g., which edges of exterior doors are painted the exterior color and interior color of the door), and confirmed with us which parts of the house were to be trim color or body color. We had ordered a trim piece for a window in one of our exterior doors, which took a couple of weeks to arrive. Doug worked with us and came back to paint the exterior doors when that piece was installed and ready to paint. The prep, painting, and cleanup were painless for us and the house and shed look fantastic. Our north-facing driveway, which was covered with moss, also looks great. We enjoyed working with Doug and will call him when the interior of our house needs painting.

We're very pleased with the paint job. The crew was polite and pleasant and worked long hours. John was particularly helpful to work with and even came over on a Saturday, to paint our front door at a time, when the sun would be less extreme on the drying paint. And he was able to give us some helpful suggestions about things we hadn't thought of. Doug, the owner, came by personally to supervise the outcome. The final result looks great. The crew cleaned up nicely and left our yard and home looking very nice and the price was lower than the other bids we received. The only problem we had was scheduling the job, it took awhile for the owner to get back to us and commit to a date.
