I contracted with this company for the preparation of an as-built drawing of my septic system at a price of about $1,000. This is a requirement for sale of property in King County. Their folks came out and did a few hours work, said that they had what they needed and charged me about $1,500, including some charges for travel and other work. I paid them and awaited my as-built drawing. Instead, I got an estimate in a few days, saying that I needed to commit to $6,500 additional work in order to verify that an as-built was appropriate. If they found that the septic system was unrepairable, they would refer me to a designer for a whole new system that might cost 20 to 50 thousand dollars. They would give me a substantial discount on that work if it proved to be necessary. This seemed excessive to me, so I contacted another vendor, who assured me that the job was simple and could be completed for $4,500 total. I hired that contractor and the work was completed in three days. For that price, I not only received the as-built, but also had some repairs completed on the septic, had it pumped, tested and certified, and all documents required for sale were filed with King County. When I approached A Advanced for a partial refund on my $1,000, they did not respond and no money has been refunded. I would caution people who are considering this company to watch out for unexpected large charges, and to not pay in advance until you have the product they have promised.

No well. Read details below. SEPTIC BANDITS! RUN! YOU'LL GET RIPPED OFF LIKE I DID. We hired these guys to pump out a septic tank & pump tank prior to us installing a new pump. The locations of the hatches were obvious-- pump tank lid was exposed & septic tank lid location was delineated. Technician said couldn't pump septic tank because lid was 4+ feet down so a backhoe was needed to dig it up. So he pumped out the small pump tank, fooled around with the old pump for a bit, declared it dead and left. The total bill was over $1,100 and my septic tank never got pumped. Turns out the septic tank lid was 4-INCHES below the surface-- the technician was probing in the wrong spot. I called Advanced's office and got the runaround. No one could discuss this problem with me other than "Matt," who is constantly in meetings, out on a job, or otherwise unavailable. When he did eventually call, he was defensive and 100% unhelpful. I later spoke with Andrew (Gunia?) who said he was one of Advanced's "owners." He insisted we fork over ANOTHER $~400+ for them to come back and pump the septic tank-- which we had already paid for and Advanced never performed. Really??? More money? Obviously, this company is not much interested in customer service or customer retention and highly interested in making money. I refuse to throw good money after bad. At this point I need to call a DIFFERENT septic tank pumper and pay someone else to have my septic tank pumped. This is criminal behavior IMHO, so I will be making a formal complaint to the Washington State Dep't of Labor & Industries, and to the State Attorney General's Office. Use these clowns if you want, but at least now you know what might result.

We would like to remind you that you were never our customer. There is no record of us working for you in our system. It was your tenant who contacted us and ordered the work on your behalf, without disclosing that he was not the homeowner. We do not appreciate the continued bullying you have done towards our employees. Your tenants did not know the location of the septic tank or that the tank was on risers. Had we known the tank was on risers, we would have continued to locate the riser lids. You claim to have known the location and that the tank was on risers, but your tenant hired us while you were out of town. The extra charges that we refunded were caused by the lack of knowledge from your tenant, not our technician. We have been nothing, but reasonable as we navigated this situation. We have provided you with a $350 discount towards the pumping of your pump chamber and our time on site. A week after we had done the work, you contacted us and we learned that you were the homeowner. We then offered you a minimum of $235 savings to get your septic tank pumped because of the situation at hand. You were not satisfied with that offer, and demanded that you get the work done for free. You did not pay for any work that did not take place. When we denied that demand, you promised our staff and owner that you would formally complain to many entities, simply because we did not do a service for you for free. You claimed in one of your many harassing messages to our staff that, "If we can work out the problem... that would be great. If not, I'll find another outfit to pump my septic tank even if I will have to pay someone else AGAIN. If that happens, however, the s*** will really hit the fan for you folks. Not a threat, a promise." You then later stated, "I have no complaint if you share this text exchange with anyone in the world." It saddens us that the situation has come to this. We ask you again, to please stop contacting our company and harassing our staff. We refuse to work with someone this hostile and demanding.

I own and operate more than 50 residential properties in the Pierce County, WA, area. I will NEVER hire A Advanced for work again. The septic inspection was performed by an angry, little man that simply hated his job. He was unprofessional and didn’t take care or pay attention to detail whatsoever. He had a helper with him that dumped more dirt and rock into the pump chamber than I had dug up from around the lid. The icing on the cake is they “started a new computer system” that week. Oddly, an April repair gets an additional $458 invoice in October after $241 was paid May 1...hmmm. Stay away and go with Flohawks.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], we apologize for the unprofessional behavior of our team members. That is not acceptable within our company. We wish that we would've been made aware back when we did the work on April 30th, so that we could have addressed the situation. However that "angry little man" was also dealing with his wife being on her death bed at the time. She passed away shortly after that at the age of 47. People simply have bad days. As far as the billing goes, you paid the $241 for your original service call. After that service call we gave you an estimate for about $850 worth of work. We were able to complete the job on May 2nd for about half that amount. At that time we had you sign the invoice and agreed to send you a bill. You were emailed the bill on May 8th. We had not heard anything from you since then, which is when we reached out to you on Oct 2nd. Again the behavior that you witnessed was absolutely not ok, but as far as our records show you were made fully aware of the charges for the work. We firmly believe that we are a great company that occasionally has bad moments, and people have bad days.

The morning of the appointment I received a call from tech introducing himself, and text with Scott's picture and a call when he arrived at my home. After completing the septic service Scott called and informed me he had inspected inside and out of my tank to make sure there were no problems and they were sending inspection results to the utility company as required, which they did automatically at no additional charge. I read through many reviews and was seriously skeptical about A Advance Septic. But their prompt response and professionalism in my initial contact with Robert said a lot. I am very satisfied with them, the technician Scott was very professional, prompt and you could hardly tell where they had to dig up the lid to the septic when they got done. You can tell they take pride in their work. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Don't just read the words on a review. You gotta read between the lines some times too!!!

In March, 2017, after A Advanced pumped the septic tank, I was told there was infiltration and that the areas of infiltration could be sealed. The crew sent to repair the holes and cracks could not seal them because the ground was saturated and closing up one crack would make water gush in more from another crack. They told me the tank would have to be replaced. Replacement of the septic tank was proposed to cost me $9,132.07. Additional items including repair of the rain drain on my property line, regrade and re-gravel of the driveway and parking area and replacement of railroad ties brought the price up to $11,174.50. The septic tank was replaced in June, additional items were completed during the next three months and final payment was made September, 2017. In January of 2018, I called A Advanced to investigate a constant running water sound coming from my pump tank. (I later learned that this dripping noise is due little holes in the water line from the pump that leads to the outlet and indicates that the pump is running.) The constant dripping is an indication that the pump was constantly running. The technician sent out January 4th to investigate the problem found no issues. I again reported the same problem a week or so later. The technician dug up the inlet of the pump tank and found water infiltration under the pipe and recommended sealing the pump chamber and inlets and outlets. There had been no infiltration into the pump chamber prior to the replacement of the septic tank. Floating bits of foam in the pump tank was an indication that the crew that had replaced the septic tank and connected the septic tank outlet filter had attempt to seal the septic tank outlet system (pump tank inlet), the technician's testing disclosed that there was water seepage into the pump tank under the inlet pipe. At some point in the construction process, the inlet pipe had been disturbed and ground water was infiltrating the pump tank. On January 30, 2018, I experienced problems with bedroom lights and outlets in my house. I called an electrician who discovered that the circuit tripping was due to a septic pump problem. His testing disclosed that the pump caused a power surge that drew power from the circuit in excess of capacity, thus triggering the circuit breaker. In his estimation, this was an indication of a failing pump. He disconnected the pump in order to restore functionality to my household circuits. (Cost $643) On February 9th, A Advanced installed new circuits for the septic pump and alarm in accordance with current standards, test pump for functionality and overall condition of drain field following electrical work. The pump was determined to be failing. I was informed that a septic pump has approximately a ten-year life and A Advanced had previously replaced the pump just three years earlier. (Cost of electrical work order - $4,011.31. Additional cost of new pump - $1,212.96.) It was determined that there were no issues with the drain field. Two days later, the septic alarm went off and I called A Advanced. After more trouble shooting, pumping the tank, testing the pump, observing the infiltration, etc., the owner analyzed the problem and determined that it must be the drain field. For another $2,016, A Advanced located the four drain field lateral ends, exposed them, brought them up to grade, capped them and jetted the lines with a plan to return and re-flush them in 4 weeks, which they did 7 weeks later. Problems continued with the pump and warning alarm intermittently throughout the rest of the winter and on into spring requiring limited use of household water and careful monitoring of the alarm and pump. Crews came to test the flow to the drain field by removing the caps and allowing gray water to spray all over my front wooded area, turning it into a muddy mire and trampling my plants. One of the A Advanced employees wanted to run another test, but I drew the line and adopted a wait and see approach. It appeared that the problems only occur when we have had copious amounts of rain, indicating that the ground water infiltration into the pump chamber is the probable source of the continued problem. At one point, the owner had discussed waiting until the ground around the tank was dry to fix the infiltration issues, which I agreed to. After weeks of no rain, now seems the optimum time for A Advanced to make the repairs, however, my emails to them go unanswered. It seems the only time I can get their attention is when I owe them money, or they see a chance to make more money off me, but now, after paying them over $18,500, over the past 13 months, they ignore me and their responsibility to repair the infiltration into the pump tank, which caused all the ensuing problems after the septic tank was replaced by them. The crews and employees of A Advanced are friendly and personable and very nice to work with. Only the owner caused me some concern when he unprofessionally discussed personnel issues pertaining to one if his employees who had done the extensive troubleshooting January 16th. I did not get competitive bids for the work I have had performed by A Advanced. I would encourage anyone planning on extensive septic system repair to not skip this step. I would also encourage you to write down everything they say, because I do not believe they have a good in-house communication system, and there are so many different crews and employees, I'm not sure the left hand knows what the right is doing. Bottom line, very personable guys, but because they have billed me nearly $20 thousand and are still troubleshooting, I have to wonder if they are incompetent or if they are crooks.

There was no as built on file with the health department when we purchased our house. We wanted to do a remodel so hired a designer to update the septic system. The designer recommended AAdvanced Septic to locate the current system. Their techs came out and used a camera to scope the drainfield. I asked AAdvanced Septic to provide an as built using the data they collected. They charged me $850 for what they called a Record Drawing, on the receipt. There is no engineer in the company. Someone in the office used a ruler to make a drawing. After the system was updated, the designer sent me a bill for an as built. I called AAdvanced and suggested that since I paid them for an as built they should ship some of that money to my designer who was an engineer and would be drawing up a legitimate as built. I was told by AAdvanced Septic that they were required to do a record drawing after scoping the system. They suggested I get a second opinion. I did. Here is what the Health Dept has to say: “Locate companies (not designers/PE’s) do NOT do record drawings…only locates. And no, they are not required to submit those locates to us unless we ask for it as part of an application.” AAdvanceed Septic is not an honest company and took advantage of our naïveté when we asked for an as built. Do not trust what they tell you.

Ms. [Member Name Removed], we want to apologize for the frustrations we have caused you. This was clearly a situation of miscommunication. Had we realized that you were already working with a designer, we would not have gone through the process of doing a record drawing. We would have marked the locations of your system for the designer after cameraing. Somehow the topic of needing a drawing must have come up. We do record drawings for the health department everyday, but only designers can draw as-builts. The difference is one is an accurate drawing done by an engineer, and the other is a site map of the components in the ground done by a service provider and installer. You are also correct that locate companies do not do record drawings, however we are a septic service provider and installer, not a utilities locate company. We know this explanation will not take away your frustrations. We appreciate the feedback, and will do everything in our ability to make sure this does not happen again. Please feel free to contact our office if you have any further questions.

Mr. [Member Name Removed], we are very sorry for your frustrations. There was a mix up with the paperwork because we did not receive that escrow was covering the charges until after we had done the work. We do not file the paperwork until we have received payment. That was a mix up on our part though because it got filed 12 days after the work being done instead of the following day. The county then takes 10 days after receiving paperwork from us to visit the site, after that they post that your paperwork has been filed. That being said the county allows us up to 60 days to file. Due to our mix up in paperwork, we have applied discounts to your account. We are working hard to make sure that this does not effect your closing dates. Your buyer also contacted us, we have explained everything to them and they are understanding of the situation. Hopefully you will change your mind on working with us again, we have done everything in our ability to solve the confusion. As far as your gate goes, if anything needs to be addressed there please contact our office, and we can see what we can work out. Thank you.

The guys showed up on time. Within one hour, they had finished the excavation, pumped the tank and were out of here. That was Friday. Tuesday morning they showed up to install the risers. When they were done, the risers not only looked great, but the pile of dirt was completely cleaned up, the deck was washed off and everything looked great! I am impressed with the entire job they did, their thoroughness and professionalism. It ended up being a rare delight in customer service.

Each were happy to answer all of the many questions I had of them about my system and any upgrades/repairs to be prepared for. After the work was done, they gave a competitive and fair offer for adding risers as well. To add to that statement, they even offered a local distributor of risers if I decided to try and do it on my own. They even went as far to let me know that if I'd chosen to install them on my own that I'd save around 200 bucks, an estimate that was spot on. Though I didn't use them to install the risers and decided to do it myself, it wasn't because of the service offered or the price. I chose to do them myself because of the added satisfaction felt of performing the work myself. Of course, once the project was finished I'd wished I'd hired them to do the work but that's beside the point. It was a little more difficult than I'd expected but I really enjoyed the fact that neither of the professionals who arrived from A Advanced Septic tried to pressure me in to hiring them to install the risers. I will DEFINITELY hire them again for any work needed on my septic system.
Description of Work: I needed my septic tank pumped and inspected. I purchased this home a little less than 3 years ago and didn't even know exactly where the septic was until now so I really wanted more than the sludge level inspection required by the county. A Advanced Septic pumped my tank, inspected the system, and submitted the results to the county.

Professional team, both the people at the office as well as the team that was on site. I've never had a septic system before, they spent extra time to teach me how it works and what kind of maintenance is expected - very helpful to know as a new homeowner.

For such a messy job and dirty job they were great! Professional, helpful, patient (with all my questions) and self contained. They had everything they needed on their truck and went right to work!! I have already given their name out to a co-worker.
Description of Work: My drain fields were not working and needed to be serviced. Bob came out to review everything and give a quote. Once accepted, scheduled the work. The two guys came out and performed the work answering all my questions and when they were all done they leveled the dirt and even added grass seed on top!!
