It was actually sub-contract. I would highly recommend them. The installation was first class, i installed it better than i expected and they did lots of other things i wouldn't classify. We were satisfied with the price.

I first contacted them on 2/14 to get information about the bathroom remodel special they were running. After a couple of initial emails exchanging information and trying to set up an appointment, he just dropped off until I sent another message on the 21st. Then the battle to get him to come out began. He wasn't able to get here until 3/11. He came out and looked at the work I needed done (bathroom remodel, subfloor repairs, possible whole house flooring replacement,) took some pictures and left saying he'd get back to me with an estimate. It's now 4/7 and I've not heard another word. Not even the courtesy of an "I don't want the job."

Everything went great! I think these guys are just the sweetest, talented group you could ever ask for. Pete is your plumbing expert, and all-around great worker. Eric is your master tiler, and can take on any request with a professional, yet personable response. Todd, the owner makes sure that everything works out. They all work well together, and are a family-friendly group. I can't wait to get these guys back to remodel my kitchen! Thanks so much Angie's List for steering us in the right direction. We couldn't afford him. He was fair and professional, but we didn't get the appraisal that we needed for the house. He came out and gave us an idea of what we could do and how much we could get & if it would cover what we wanted. He was responsive.

Todd was responsive to us on the very first phone call. He scheduled time to meet with us to see the project and showed up on time! He was knowledgeable and gave us a clear idea of what needed to be done and how much it would cost. He also identified possible problems he could come across and how he would handle them in the event they were there. He and his crew were amazing. They worked diligently, cleaned up the sight each day, made the changes I requested as the project progressed without hesitation or real additional cost, communicated with me regularly and finished when he said he would. We didn't finish payment until all of the project was completed and he came over to walk it with us to make sure it was up to our satisfaction. I would highly recommend Todd and his team. They were a please to work with!

I met with Todd the week before closing on a house that I was purchasing to get measurements of the detached 3 car garage to provide a quote as I wanted to have it insulated as soon as possible after my closding date. He took measurements, asked questions about what I wanted for electrical. He provided me a quote within a couple of day and we had an agreement to move forward. To my surprise, he scheduled the job to start the Monday following the Friday that I closed on the house. I really didn't think that was going to be possible giving the timing, but he made it happen. The following Monday, the site manager and sub arrived on time and went right to work. The site manager and sub knew everything that I had talked to Todd about, which means that he communicates well with his staff. The site manager reviewed what they were going to be doing and I let the sub into the shop. That evening when the sub was ready to leave, he asked if he could arrive at 7am the following day. The next morning my doorbell rang and exactly 7am. All of the subs were very prompt, with the exception of the garage door opener installer, which Todd has addressed. The project took a couple of days longer than expected, but was done just in time for the movers to arrive. I am very happy with the quality of the work that was done and will definitely have Todd and his crew work on the remodeling projects I have forthcoming.

We didn't get the level of service I was expecting of having spent that much money. Part of it was like a couple of hours of project management on site and going over it with them and coming up with a plan and I called them to kind of figure out when we could do this and the person, Todd Ritchey, who is like the leader just put me in touch with some other guy who came out and did the work. He never came out himself and the guy who came out was kind of like on the same day as they were going to do the work so then I had to pay to have them on the clock hours of having them do the shopping for the materials because I didn't want to make a separate trip to come out and do the work. It just ended up being a lot less efficient for 40 hours of work, we got a lot less than what we hoped and it wasn't 40 hours of like highly skilled work, it was like one guy who was fairly competent and then another person who was like a 20-year old kid helping that guy like learning how to do a good job. I had additional cost of purchasing the materials that they needed to do the work but I wasn't charged any additional labor fee because they didn't even do 40 hours of work. I give Todd Ritchey himself a very low grade for professionalism but the person who came out was at least courteous.

It went very well, they showed up on Monday morning and set up "shop" in our garage, then proceeded to get to work. By the end of the first day it was clear they were going to knock off everything on our list. They were even able to come up with an inexpensive, quick fix for a problem that had been plaguing us. It was a simple cosmetic issue, but another contractor told us the problem would require re-finishing the entire floor - at great expense. Todd's team took care of it quickly and easily and it was inclusive to the coupon we purchased. That wasn't the only "difficult" item they were able to address quickly. We had several small repairs that other contractors had made a big deal about. When Eric, from Todd's team, came across something that wasn't an obvious fix, he would stop and spend the time to analyze the situation and he came up with solid, sound, solutions every time. Other contractors had told me we couldn't replace a 1ft by 1ft square of stained carpet, even though I had extra carpet from the same dye lot, because it wouldn't seam properly, it would look awful, it would be too obvious etc. I'd been told I would have to rip up the carpet and re-do the entire room. Todd sent out his carpet guy and they replaced the stained piece ~ with no drama. Nobody is able to locate where in the room this work was done. It looks fantastic! The guys who were sent to our home had a great work ethic, they were focused and professional. We purchased that coupon not knowing what to expect - it was a risk. It paid off beautifully. We already have a few projects in our new home that we would like to have Todd and his team work on. Overall we had a positive experience.

Todd, came and listened to what I wanted to achieve, which was a clean, insulated usable space for storage. This small storage space was really just a dark hole, with some concrete walls, some with Masonite and no insulation. Suitable for Christmas ornaments (sealed in plastic tubs) a vacuum and odds and ends. A very unappealing room. The first day they accomplished tearing out everything, rerouted some plumbing, framed in the walls, insulated and sheet rocked. Day two taped and mudded. Day three sanded, and it was ready for primer and paint (which I did over the weekend). Monday they put down the vinyl and installed the trim and new light fixture. All in all they had a total of about 37 man hours. I am so pleased with how it turned out. It is now warm, bright and can be used for storage and closet space for seasonal clothing. The three men who did the work were very efficient, answered my questions, cleaned up really well everyday. I liked Todd and his employees and would use them again.

Meet with Todd and discussed our plans for remodeling both our kitchen and master bathroom. Expected him to submit a quote or at least respond with a 'no-bid' so we could move forward and seek out another contractor. Never heard from him again

I called Todd and spoke with him on 9-23-13. He seemed very responsive and eager to work. I explained my situation with the siding and pretty sure I got across how desperate I was to get this done. I let him know I saw the deal on Angie's List for a contractor for a week and that I needed siding repairs. I knew he was farther away but he said he's trying to get out to my area, so either him or someone else that works with him will try to come out tomorrow morning. He told me to email him my contact information. I went on his website and verified his email address, just to make sure I had it right. I immediately emailed him the details of our conversation and my name, address, and two phone numbers. The next morning, I waited...and waited. By around noon no one had arrived and no one called. I called his number again to see if he would be coming since I took the day off for this. I got his voice mail and left a detailed message and asked him to please call me and let me know if he'd be coming today. Nothing, no response. I debated for days if and what I should leave for his review, but this guy wasted my time. If he wasn't interested in the job, just say it. If you say you will try to get out here in the morning, either do it or let the customer know you can't make it. He could have called or emailed, ANYTHING. Total disregard for other people's time.

He came over to the house we were going to purchase and gave us an estimate. We were doing a 203k loan and he is the ONLY professional contractor that knows how this process works. He worked with my loan officer and helped with getting the loan done on a timely manner. He was not hard to work with at all and the loan officer really appreciated his responsiveness. Well, to make the long story short, the loan had to be cancelled due to the disagreement I had with the loan department and we ended up looking for another property. The reason why I recommend Todd is that he is the MOST professional contractor I talked to out of all the other general contractor that is on Angie's list. He's the only one who is experienced in the kind of situation I had and he is the most patient man you'll ever meet. He's really nice and VERY professional. In this business, it's hard to find someone like that. I definitely will use him if I need any renovation done on my next home. I definitely will recommend him to my family and friends and know that they will be in good hands. ~Sheilla~

Todd and his crew were very professional and thorough throughout our remodel. Todd is very knowledgeable, really understood the look we were going for, and had a lot of good suggestions. He also works with a very talented group of people who seem to pride themselves on doing high quality work and hitting their deadlines. Keith (project manager) was a pleasure to work with, and we felt comfortable knowing that he was managing all of the day to day activities and subcontractors coming in and out of our home. If there was anything we hadn't thought of or if there were any deviations Keith would inform us right away and help us decide how to proceed. As with any project there were a couple of minor hiccups along the way, but Todd and Keith dealt with them with great professionalism and we couldn't be happier with the result. We will definitely consider using Todd again for our next big job.

Work was done well and a little faster than I had planned. They made suggestions that gave me a quality repair.

Project: old deck tear down and construction of an entirely new deck footprint replacement I cannot say enough about the top-notch , professional work we got from Todd Ritchey Construction. It all turned out beautifully! The crew was efficient and would not hesitate to consult with us about any alternatives in design and approach during the project.

This was not an easy job. In fact, several other Angie's List contractors came out to look at it and didn't seem to want to follow through with a bid. I chose Todd for the job because he answered my inquiry promptly and made a visit to assess the work. In fact, he was the only one who took the time to explore the problem and discovered the actual cause of the damage, which was termites from a long time ago. I and all the other contractors believed it was dry rot, although nobody could find out why that should have happened. Todd sent a great team out to do the work. Because of unforeseen issues it took a day longer than expected, but I was fine with that. His foreman was very creative and resourceful, as well as being an experienced and skillful worker. The helper was very good too. The finished job looks very good and now I am assured there will be no similar problems in the future. His design took care of that. I am very happy with the finished product. Everyone who was on this job was friendly, polite, very sensitive to the impact on my house (and my dog) , and the workers communicated well with me and with one another. They cleaned up after themselves each day and left the site in perfect condition. They were quiet (no boom boxes!!) and hard working and a pleasure to have around. The only reason I gave Todd less than a total "A" is because it was a bit difficult to get a commitment as to when the project would start, and I'm a person who prefers more communication. However, that would not stop me from using him again. Very nice guy, very honest and thorough. I felt his price was right on, too.

In June we decided to replace the windows and we thought we might add a small deck off the second floor office so we could watch the ships go by. We had him come out and do the bid. Prior to getting on Angie's List we got about a dozen people come out who we wanted to do the deck and the porch, then after we got on Angie's List we tried to find someone who would do the windows and someone to do the deck. The group that did the windows, their deck person broke his leg so they couldn't do the deck project so we had to find another person to do the deck.

The only low point was that Todd was about 20 minutes late, and I hadn't received a phone call to warn me of the tardiness. When I called him, he told me he was just about to finish with an earlier appointment, and he did arrive a little while later. Otherwise, Todd was very clear and specific about what he wanted to do. The videos and pictures he sent me aftewards speak to the quality of the work he does and justifies the good reviews he's received on Angie's List. I didn't go with his business because his initial quote was out of my range, but I won't hesitate to call on him for future projects.

Todd was quick to respond everytime I called or emailed him. He was out in a day or two for the initial estimate, and quick and efficient supplying our lender with the required documents for our 203K rehab loan. Once we closed and could let him start He was again quick and efficient. Had the shed removed, deck patched, moldy drywall removed and replaced with different material that we like better than the drywall that was there, and the old flooring removed from one bedroom in a days work. Next came the carpet which looks wonderful. Then the roofers started dropping off materials and we got excited for our new roof. Our only concern was if the roofers could finish before the rain was expected. But again they completed the entire roof in one day. The roof consisted of tearing off my old torch down, including the rotted boards, laying new boards, and laying shingles instead of doing another torch down. The grey shingles look great! With rain looming and it being Mother's day weekend the gutters waited until Monday, but they were done in just a couple hours. All in all. Todd and his team did wonderful work in a short window of time. He was very helpful, efficient, and we would not only hire him again, we'll recomend him to others.

He seemed very professional. He has had a lot of experience in the field. He gave us more of the structural information about our house. He was upfront and told us he would probably not do what we were asking and that was just his opinion. But we did get a lot of information from him. I did respect his opinion and he was very responsive and came out promptly.

Todd and his crew are a pleasure to work with. Every sub that he brought in was honest and did their job when they said they would. The quality of everyones work is beautiful! Thanks Todd & crew!
