+ 1 moreThey sold themselves as a general contractor. They tried to do general contracting and frankly the are not equipped for that and it was a disaster. They were very responsive. They were not paying their workers which is really not something that directly affects me. They needed to be honest about what they can actually do and they told me they were going to subcontract out to a contractor that could do the tiling and they ended up doing the tiling themselves and now the tile work is shady and it has got bubbles everywhere. They needed to be honest about knowing how to paint. At some point I called them and asked them why when they were painting the wall crimped and they ended up screwing everything up. They were just dishonest at every time that they could but everything that they could it was just total honesty about everything.
Description of Work: I've used Five Star Insulation. They did insulation and painting of the interior and that required a lot of work with the walls and they also did a bathroom remodel and a kitchen partial remodel.

+ -1 moreFirst class workmanship. The house was built in 1954 and does not use today's conventional floor construction methods. There are 4x6 timbers on about three foot centers with 2x6 tongue and groove and subfloor above that instead of joists on 12 inch centers and subfloor. They installed the insulation and correctly applied strapping to hold up the insulation. They also removed all of the old accumulated junk from the crawlspace and hauled it away. I would not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Insulate floor (crawlspace), replace plastic sheeting on ground in crawlspace, replace poorly done copper water supply piping with PEX

Description of Work: Hired them to remove insulation so I could get rid of the K&T wiring, then blow in new insulation. | |The day they were supposed to show to remove insulation they never arrived. The next day they showed on time but about 2.5 hours in their machine broke down. I ended up renting a machine for them to finish the job. The next day they came out and one of them cracked my plaster ceiling & they missed some of the insulation. To their credit they reimbursed me for the machine rental and fixed the plaster. The blown in was a MUCH better experience. Only took them two hours and the crew was ALOT more professional. They said they fired the 1st crew. If that's true I would consider them again, but not with the original crew!

+ -1 moreIt went very well. They left minimal mess behind and that is not easy for doing insulation work. Casey communicated very well throughout.
Description of Work: Casey and Kris came out the day after I called them and gave me a prompt bid with options on whether to use special insulation for a media room. That was on February 16th. I called them on March 9th to do the job. They did it on March 10th. They stuck to the price they quoted and the end product is very good. I had them put insulation in about 1,500 s.f. in our basement as we are finishing it out. It is so much quieter and you can tell the insulation is keeping everything much warmer. Casey called me when they were installing the insultion to inform me about a vapor barrier that may need to go in as well. They determined it did not need it, but, clearly, they are on top of their game.

+ -1 moreAll went well. Courteous, punctual, and cleaned up after themselves. Owners were very informative and accomodating.
Description of Work: added insulation in walls in our house which never had any. they drillede holes in our siding, blew in insulation, then filled holes w dowl plugs and spackled over them. Did great job of cleaning up mess afterwards.
