First Choice Landscaping LLC

Joel ( who was recommended by an acquaintance) Indicated that he had experience installing retaining retaining walls. When Joel and an assistant arrived (late) I noticed that he didn't appear to have the proper tools for the job he had committed to. It soon become very apparent that there was a total lack of knowledge on retaining wall construction when he indicated that he was planning to stack the blocks directly on top of each other rather than staggered as they should be. I also detected several instances of not being truthful which was concerning. The contract was for labor plus the direct cost of materials and I discovered when the materials were delivered that we were paying a delivery fee which Joel had indicated was not being charged. Even though I understand that delivery charges are common I was bothered by the lack of honesty. WA state records indicate that First Choice Landscaping LLC is a state licensed and bonded contractor owned by a William Stotko. Joel may be competent at general lawn an landscape maintenance, but I would not recommend the firm because of the lack of candor.
