Cedar shingle repair / replacement appears to be good. Roof treatment took a while to get scheduled due to poor weather conditions, but office personnel did a good job in working with us to complete the job. Compliments to a very accomodating and responsive group at Axis.

They did a good job and the people were nice. They cleaned up well when the job was done. They came when they said they would come, and they were done in a couple days. I would recommend them, and their price was in the mid-range of all the other quotes I got.
Description of Work: They replaced the roof, painted the fascia, and replaced the gutters. We have a tar a shingle roof.

+ -1 moreThe foreman of the job - Leo - was amazing. They weren't able to get their dumpster into my driveway without running over my neighbors lawn as my street is very narrow. They had to park the dumpster in front of my home. In order to clean up the old materials they tore off, they had to put down a tarp, throw all the old materials onto that, then pick it up again to transport it to the dumpster. It must have been 85-90 degrees every day they were here, and we never heard a complaint. Leo and his crew really went above and beyond - it was definitely hard work. We have had neighbors stop by our home just to ask who did our roof. We were actually so impressed that we recommended him to my sister-in-law as well. They did my sister-in-law's roof about a week or so later, and she was just thrilled as well.
Description of Work: They did a total tear off and replacement of our large roof. We had a cedar shake roof with composition underneath, so he had to tear off two layers of roofing before replacing it with a brand new composition roofing. We really liked how much time the owner took informing us about the options we had. He was very thorough about going through it all. We received 5 total estimates, and he was not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but thought he was the most qualified for the job.We also had some questions about a particular type of venting we wanted, as we had some concerns how it would look. We also didn't know which color of roofing material would look the best with our home. He brought samples of the venting so we could see how it was going to lay on the new roof, and also brought samples of both colors of the roofing materials so we could determine which we liked the best.

They used the 4 spare sheets of my original shingles and the remaining shingles they brought didn't quite match the thickness or the same color of my shingles, so that it is noticeable if you look closely.

+ 1 moreBono was the gentlemen who did all the work at my home. There is no way to explain how wonderful his work was. He kept me informed about what he was doing and was very respectful of my yard and buildings . My roofs and windows look fabulous. The office staff was also wonderful. My home was built in 1928, and they were ready with all the right tools to get the job done because they asked all the right questions when I made the appointment. I would and will recommend them without any hesitation, and plan on using them again!! They all were just wonderful!!!!

+ 0 morePunctual and professional, they know what they're doing. The office staff, very friendly people all, were very accommodating in working out a schedule to get the work done. They worked extra hard to make sure I was satisfied regarding a concern about zinc treatment and atrium windows inset into roof line. They also offer good suggestions that should be followed as to preparing your house before they come. I will use them again when the time comes.

Description of Work: Removed old cedar shakes, laid down plywood, water proof sheeting and composite shingles and clean up was very thorough. The crew was hard working, skilled and easy to have around.

+ -1 moreMy daughter actually used them. She called me to get a roofer name and number, I saw Axis and gave it to her. She was so comfortable with them and asked me to give them a grade A across the board.
Description of Work: Sudden leak in shower ceiling. Called Axis, they came same day, fixed it same day. It was a great experience. They are so nice and you just know they are not going to take advantage of you. This is my first new home, so it was important to not have a huge bill.

Description of Work: I had a persistent leak in my roof and had Axis Roof and Gutter come out to take a look and repair the problem. The Axis guys came out several times over the course of about six weeks as the issue required a methodical, iterative approach to diagnose and resolve. In the end the problem turned out not to be an issue with the roofing at all but an issue with our chimney. The chimney appears to have been leaking for quite some time (our house is just 6 years old and it turns out the chimney has had an issue since day 1) and required a total rebuild - a project requiring the services of a masonry company which I hired separately. The issue with chimney manifested itself as a leak in the roof which just became visible this Fall. That issue did cause some damage to the plywood underlayment so Axis stripped the roofing, replaced the plywood and installed new roofing. The thing that made this so impressive is that Axis had to come out several times to troubleshoot the issue and even though the root cause of the problem was not the roofing, Axis addressed the major secondary roofing issues and never charged more than what they originally quoted. I've used Axis Roof and Gutter for several things over the years including roof and gutter cleaning, repair to a skylight that was blown off during a storm, general roof maintenance and even window cleaning. I've always found them to be very fair and their field and office staff are always very professional, courteous, punctual, etc.. I will continue to use Axis for all my roofing and window cleaning needs.

+ 0 moreI decided to choose a local roofer, rather than one from another location. Overall I was very pleased with the work performed. It was raining on the day of my installation, but they were able to complete the work. The workers were a team, each doing their tasks in a very orderly fashion. The only issue I may have is the clean up portion of the job. There was bits of old roofing on the ground, not large ones, but no the less they were visible. I also found loose nails, which were missed by the magnetic roller. I'm sure they would have come back out to do additional cleaning, but it really wasnt much. One thing I didnt realize was that they sub-contract the gutters. My gutters were removed the same day my roof installed, but my gutters werent installed until 4 days later. I was told that the gutter installation would occur later when I agreed to the contract. I didnt realize it would be 4 days later. Other than those really small issues, it was an excellent experience. The staff at Axis was very nice to us, and answered all our questions. My grade would be an "A", it would have been an "A+" except for the minor cleanup details and the gutters being a bit delayed. I strongly recommend them.
Description of Work: I had a new roof installed along with gutters. They tore off the old roofing material and disposed of all the materials, also removed my old gutter system. The roofing portion was accomplished in one day, with four very hard working individuals.

They were very nice and they came when they said they would. They did what they said would and I have not had any problems whatsoever. I did not think they were too expensive we have a big house. I thought it was fair. They were right on time. After this job is wrapped up, I would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Axis Roof and Gutter cleaned my roof with a pressure washer and will do the sealant when the weather clears up. They charged 400 dollars for cleaning and it will be 400 dollars for the sealant.

Description of Work: I have a metal roof that is sometimes hard to find someone to clean. In addition to cleaning the roof they put on a retardant for moss and cleaned the gutters. The only problem was they sent only one person to do the job so they had to rescheduled so two people would do the work.

+ 0 moreThey were able to do the treatment within a couple of days. The workers arrived on time and cleaned the roof. I was especially impressed with the clean up. They cleaned the skylights, hosed down the gutters, rinsed off the exterior windows and siding, cleaned the deck, sidewalks and driveway, and hosed down the shrubs. All in all the house looked freshly painted! They told me that Some replacement shingles were needed and gave me the "worst case" estimate. Ten days later, they returned to make the repairs and treat the roof. They arrived on time and did a great job. The roof looks great! We would definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: I contacted Axis Roof to give me an estimate to clean and treat our shake roof. The estimator arrived at the house just a few hours later and gave me a detailed estimate, including several treatment options. This was one of three companies I contacted. After comparing prices and reviews, we decided to hire Axis Roof. Jen at the office was very helpful and answered all of my questions.

He was very friendly yet professional. I was referred to him by my neighbor who had been very pleased with the work the company had done for her. I contacted two other contractors and neither was as prompt or professional. I ultimately decided to bite the bullet and replace my aging roof but I will definitely keep this company in mind for my roof cleaning needs in the future.

The estimate was recieved quickly, the guys showed up when they said they would, they removed their shoes upon entry to my home and they did an outstanding job of thoroughly cleaining our windows inside and out! We have a 4300 sq ft. home with lots of windows and the guys were very efficient - one conentrated on the inside and the other on the outside. The entire job took just over three hours, they charged me exaclty what was in the bid and again they did an outstanding job. I had the windows cleaned as a small surprise to my wife and when she came home from work, she immediately noticed the sparkling clean windows and was thrilled with the outcome! Thanks Axis to you and your guys for an excellent job! I would - and have - recommended Axis to others.
Description of Work: I've worked with Axis Roof and Window Cleaning on several occasions including roof repair, replacing a storm damaged skylight, roof cleaning and maintenance and I've always had a very good exeperience. Description of Work: Axis Roof & Gutter Cleaning said they could clean my roof at a reasonable price and they could do the job within the week. 1. The employee showed up on the day and time that was agreed upon. 2. The company gave me a $100 discount. It was all downhill from there. A great deal of water came in from around one of my new skylights, that had been installed in July 2010, on to my laminate wood floor. A lot of water came in the house from under the front door. Dirt, grime, and moss went everywhere. I had to rinse off the house, windows, shed, fence, gate, patio and walkway myself, even though the employee supposedly did that -- it wasn't to my satisfaction. That wasn't the worse part. I noticed that the trim paint had been pressured washed off on both ends of the two roof peaks in the front of my house. The paint on the back of the house blistered (it had needed some work prior to the pressure washing) and the front door threshold was damaged. I had a professional painting company fix the problems and it cost about $700.

After allowing the roof to dry, I was then called back to schedule the roof treatment (they replaced and repaired the cedar shake that needed attention also). They were polite, professional, punctual, and affordable. I will definitely call them again when I need the roof cleaned/treated and have been happy to recommend them to friends and family. My roof has never looked so good.

Description of Work: The roofs and gutters on two homes were cleaned. Considerable moss build up on one roof in particular. Missing shingles were replaced on one of the homes. The roof cleaning results were excellent and the work was carefully done to avoid any roof damage. General clean-up prior to leaving was also done well.
