Artistic did a super job! We called and set up a time for them to come and give us an estimate, and they only ran a few minutes late due to a directions mixup, but the estimator called to clarify his directions as soon as he realized the problem. It is something that happens frequently enough where we live, so it was no problem for us. When he arrived, he gave us his card right away, so we would know who he was, and didn't mind removing his shoes, as we ask everyone who comes in. We talked about the places in the drywall we wanted repaired, and he told how they handle the work, the spraying and cleanup. Any questions we had were answered to our satisfaction. After we met with other contractors, we found that we liked the way the work was explained to us by Artistic, and the quote was pretty much the same. I decided I wanted to talk to other customers of Artistic, so I called and got names of people they had done work for. Most were building contractors or remodelers in trade. Artistic was spoken of with high regard, and these contractors had used them on many occasions. We then called and set up an appointment for the work. We moved what furniture we could ahead of time to minimize the dust and/or overspray. On the appointment date and time, the workman arrived on time and set about his work. He looked at each area to be done and began sealing off these areas from the rest of the room or spaces. He and his young son, working for his dad, did all the preparations. In some areas, especially where there were several nail-pops on the same wall, he spent quite a bit of time making sure the drywall was securely re-fastened with screws and that the surface was flat, and blended into the rest of the wall with the new mud that was applied. In the bathroom with the exposed drain pipe in the upper corner of the ceiling, we discussed how best to cover it with additional drywall pieces. While his idea was to "box" it in, which amounted to a small box-like shape to conceal the pipe, we had a different idea and shape in mind. Once he understood what we wanted, and agreed to it, we asked him to place a second shape in the adjacent upper corner to give it the appearance that the walls had been designed that way. Although he was initially unsure of what we wanted and how it would turn out, we appreciated that he was willing to try our idea. He cut a piece of drywall and held it up in the corner to see and evaluate. Once we got the right shape and size, he cut the second one to match and put them in place. I think, in the end, he was also pleased with the outcome, even though it might have been a little out of his comfort range. We appreciated that he did not try to dissuade us or argue us out of trying our ideas. In another location of our living room/dining room area ceiling, we had two cracks that he noticed and asked if we wanted him to repair them as well, even though they weren't on our work order list, he took care of them. A few years ago, we had someone attempt to repair these cracks, but they simply applied caulking to them. Of course that didn't work. This time the plaster was scraped away to expose the nails, and screws were used to hold the drywall up in place. It worked perfectly, and once the mud was added and smoothed, the crack could not be seen. On the second day, texturing was added to all the surfaces, then "knocked down". This was potentially the messiest part of the process, but they were very careful, considering the sprayer emits spits and spurts of plaster mud of different sizes and shapes. Their careful prepping with plastic sheeting, including the floors, and hanging sheets to cordon off the work spaces from the rest of the rooms kept mess to a minimum. The trick to the texture, though, is to get it to match the original as closely as possible. He did an excellent job of matching. All of these repairs covered only small sections of space on the walls or ceilings, so any texturing that was too small or large would be readily obvious. We believe this matches as closely as he could get, and now that it has all been primed and painted, we are very happy with the outcome.
Description of Work: We had some nail pops, some small dings and damage, and we needed some repairs to drywall that had been cut open for electrical and HVAC purposes. There was also a drain pipe from a room upstairs that was showing in the upper corner of a downstairs bathroom that we wanted to be concealed. All of the drywall is textured with the "knock-down" texture effect, making it somewhat difficult to match in small areas. We only wanted the drywall to be done, as I was to finish by priming and painting the areas.

The overall experience was excellent. They contacted me after purchasing a deal on the Angie's List web site. We set a date. They had something come up and had to reschedule. They came on time and were very professional and the finished work looks great. Everything looks like new. I am very happy with the work done.
Description of Work: Artistic Drywall did drywall repair and patching in the kitchen and basement. This included kitchen walls and basement ceiling. The kitchen walls had former tile removed and needed to be repaired for application of a new back splash. The basement ceiling had some water damage and needed to patch some small holes in the ceiling.

I was very happy with the responsiveness of the company when one problem arose. Except for one wall area where the drywall repair perimeter is slightly visible, I was happy with their work.
Description of Work: I initially took advantage of an Angie's List coupon for 3 hours of drywall repair for $99. This company was very responsive when I called, scheduled and performed the coupon work promptly. What was completed was very nice quality. The amount of drywall repair I needed, however, couldn't be finished in the 3 hours, so I contacted the company for an estimate to finish the remaining work. They were responsive in sending out someone to give me an estimate. It took a little longer to get the actual work scheduled, but once on the schedule, the workers arrived early each day and worked diligently. One misunderstanding occurred when the painters did not cut in the wall edges and the paint dried a different color. I called the office the next morning and they sent the painters out that same day to correct the problem.

They did a much more thorough job which was reflected in their prep work and the final appearance. The prior repairs failed as they didn't screw the drywall in before patching it and the hot patch material was very brittle as well so they pretty much had to remove the prior repair work and do it again and I am confident it was done well this time.

I was astounded at how efficiently he worked and by how well each patch was smoothed and textured to match the rest of the surface. Once the patches have dried and been painted, they will be invisible. I thought I probably had too many for him to do in the 3 hours allotted, but he finished them all easily. I would hire this company again without hesitation; the quality of work is first rate.
Description of Work: I bought the Angie's Deal for 3 hours of drywall repair for $99. Chris patched six holes--a 10" round hole in the ceiling and a variety of mostly rectangular holes in size--8x8, 18x4, etc., plus an L-shaped hole 20x4x16x3 or so. In every case he patched the hole, taped it, and textured it to match the surrounding wall/ceiling.

Chris took care of both areas needing work for me and did an excellent job, efficiently and neatly. Very pleasant, will use their services again.

The reason I gave a B for Responsiveness and Punctuality is because we had some schedule snafus. We had to re-schedule last-minute and Artistic did not show up for the make-up appointment. However, he accommodated a reschedule just a couple days later. We own part of the responsibility for the scheduling craziness. We would definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Our house needed drywall for three places; main bathroom, bedroom, and home office. The bathroom was the smallest fix; hooks had been knocked out of the wall, leaving gouges where the screws were installed. The other two rooms needed 2'x2' holes fixed from a plumber's project. The work performed in all three areas is superb--you cannot see the patches--and Artistic Drywall applied the orange peel texture (?) seamlessly. Additionally, he applied the texture to part of the wall in my home office where the previous owner had patched the wall but did not texturize the wall. Fantastic work all around.

Briefly, the provider made the appointment, showed up on time, did the work requested, I paid and he left. Really quite professional.
Description of Work: The provider effected two repairs on the date of service. The first repair was done on a ceiling in a study on our main floor. The ceiling had a hole in it to allow a plumber access for another repair. The second repair was done in a main floor bathroom. It was to remove holes from an old towel bar, and Spackle and texture over the work. Since the work was done so well, we wanted to provide this positive review. We have another small drywall repair job and are waiting for the next coupon so we can tackle it. Hopefully it will be with Artistic Drywall again! Mike Pinch

This was a terrific experience! Our contractor estimated that the drywall/plaster repairs would take 5 hours or so. When I saw an Angieslist Big Deal for 3 hours of drywall repair for $99, I snatched it up! I expected to pay for a few extra hours on top of the coupon I purchased. This company took care of the job in under 3 hours, no additional costs. What a relief to have no-hassle home repairs that cost less than anticipated!
Description of Work: We recently tore out some shelves and a built-in table in our kitchen, which damaged the plaster walls. We also did a pantry renovation, and there was some damage to the plaster and drywall around the new doorframe. Artistic Drywall Textures came out today and fixed everything for the $99 cost of the Angieslist coupon we purchased.

I took advantage of the special. Back in April we had granite countertops and backslashes installed, but had some exposed damaged drywall as a result. My intent was to do the repair myself, but when I saw this special, I took a chance. This was the first time I had purchased an AngiesList special. I was able to set an appointment easily. Chris showed up on time and saw the repairs we needed to have done. He finished early, but the quality of the work made up for the amount of time he spent. I let the repair work cure a couple of days and have just finished the painting. You can't tell where the repair was done. Both my wife and I are thrilled with the work that was done and wouldn't hesitate to use this contractor again whether for repairs or a complete drywall job.
Description of Work: Repair a 1x3 foot strip of drywall that had been damaged during installation of granite countertops and backsplash. There was also a second area approximately 1.5 feet square and a third smaller area that needed to be repaired. The damage was the result of our decision not to buy a third granite slab, so the $99 repair turned out to be the correct decision as opposed to buying a $2500 slab of granite.

Workers were a bit late, but we live remotely so we have grown used to this from almost all providers. :) The workers were skilled, worked quickly. They asked questions about how we wanted it and followed through. When they were done and I painted the walls, you can not tell where the repair starts and ends. It blends perfectly. Ceilings, walls, closets were all involved and three different textures. Excellent job. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
