The install only took a day, and the piping looks nice and clean. When they were finished they took the time to explain everything to me and they cleaned up after themselves well. There was a small hiccup that resulted in no hot water for a couple of hours a little later on in the night, but their on-call-help was able to walk me through the settings to get it back up and running. I ended up going with them mostly because I prefer the boiler manufacturer they use compared to other HVAC companies in the area, so much so that I was willing to pay a little more for it (even though their price was right in the same ballpark as the two other quotes I got). I had heard nothing but good things about them and they did nothing to change my perception.

I solicited bids from several area heating contractors and VEC was the only one to respond with an actual bid. They recommended quality equipment that is reliable, efficient and quiet. The cost was reasonable for the scope of work. Their crew was very professional from start to finish. They showed up on time and completed the work promptly, and cleaned up after themselves. When a pre-existing problem in the basement plumbing prevented my new hot water heater from supplying hot water to my washing machine, they scheduled a plumber to fix it promptly at a reasonable cost. There were a couple of minor details that they needed to come back and fix and they did this promptly, as well. They were also flexible about waiting for payment while we awaited 3rd party financing of the energy efficiency loan. Our house is now cozy and warm on the coldest days of winter, with an endless supply of hot water.

This company and it's employees have been professional, polite, communicative and responsive from start to finish. The work was done well and was completed as close to the schedule they predicated as could be expected given the inevitable things that cropped up once they began. It is nice to deal with the same contact and workman through two different projects.

They installed a 4 zone ductless AC system in my home. They worked well together and were very knowledgeable. Where options were available they clearly explained tem to me. The work was neatly done and they cleared up the work areas when they were done. I work definitely use them again.

Unfortunately they were not able to finish the project and I had to argue with the office person about the contract not being fullfilled. Hopefully they will come back and finish the job without me having to call a lawyer.

Vermont Energy Contracting responded quickly to a heating system problem. The company was listed on both Angie's List and the Vermont Gas web site as to reliable contractors. Both the field team and office support personnel were available when I needed them. They handled the entire project with caring, quality service.

Was the fastest responding to my request for a proposal.. Explained clearly how the system worked, the options available and answered all my questions. This interaction was very helpful to me and played a key role in my seceletion od a contractor. They were not the lowest cost but were providing the most value for the dollar. The installation crew arrived right on schedule. They did a walk through and discussed the installation with me and then got to work.They worked well as a team and did a very neat and professional installation followed by a very good cleanup. The crew as stated was very profesional but also friendly and knowledgeble willing to offer options and answer questions. The installed system works great and I would recommend Vt Energy Contracting to anyone.

I've used this company before and they are always on time or notify you ahead of time of they will be delayed. Everyone they've sent out has been knowledgeable and courteous.

Maintained natural gas boiler. Found Failing (but not failed) control board. Replaced Ignitor, Control Board, automatic air vent, and water tank relief valve without asking me what I wanted to do concerning the and quot;failingand quot; control board. He even said the Ignitor was in surprisingly good shape... Not needing replacement?? Performed combustion analysis after all new parts were installed. He showed up right on time. Great! But, he did not communicate what he was seeing with me... Instead, he replaced costly parts without asking for my express permission to do so! I will not be a return customer because I can not trust them after this overly high cost servicing.

Everything went smoothly, from first contact to final installaion. Including the recommendation for an electrician to install 220V. Basically a very professional job. No complaints.

I contracted with Vermont Energy to have a ductless air conditioning unit installed in my home. The company rep came over and assessed where the unit would be situated inside my home as well as where the condenser for the unit would rest on the outside of the home. I was quoted a price for product, installation and cleanup. I was then given a reference for an electrical company to install the appropriate electrical outlet for the unit, which was not included in Vermont Energy's quote. On the date agreed upon between myself and the company, the technicians showed up on time, installed the ductless air conditioning unit quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. I would use this company again with no qualms.

They were good people. I had no problem. I liked the guy, actually. And in fact, the guy that did come over to give me quotes, I liked him the best. They were in the middle of busy and I recognize that, so they were very responsive. I thought they were very professional. It seem like he knew what he was doing. He went around the house and just told me what it would look like, what to expect from it. His quote was in-line with the other guys. I think if I was going to pick one, it was going to be him.

Called for an estimate and they came the next day. As far as the installation goes, they came on the day they said they would, at the time they said they would, and finished it in less time than they said. They used drop clothes and took steps to ensure that my carpets etc. weren't damaged. Afterwards they swept up and made sure the furnace area was a clean and neat as when they started. They also took the time to explain to me exactly how the furnace works, how it would differ from my old furnace, and also how to modify my programmable thermostat settings to work properly with the new furnace.

They are outstanding. I am very pleased with them. They are professional and clean.

Unfortunately, this is all too common with contractors, they never call back. I consider it professional courtesy to at least return a call, even if it's to say I'm too busy at the moment.

Excellently. I mean it; they could have done nothing to improve our experience. The salesperson (Peter Bodette) was professional, prompt, and flexible. The installers set about their business in a effecient manner. AND their price was far better than the next lowest bid.

These guys are really good. Complex zone valve system installation is copper craftsmanship at its best. Can't think of a single negative. Price exactly as estimated.
