Company named Charley Brown Inc (Hartford VT) picked up my 2 year old mower in October from an enclosed shed. Reason was for routine maintenance after very limited use in 2017. The mower worked well. Son of owner returned it at end of winter. The one year old mulching kit (blades and shields) installed under the deck was installed rusted, with broken shield. The mower had been left in the snow all winter outside with all the other equipment at Charley Brown Inc. Owner of shop stated delay was due to needing a part, and also other more urgent jobs. Owner's son claimed there were 3 to 5 inches of ice on the level concrete slab in my enclosed shed when he put it in shed in April 2018. Attributes condition of mower to the ice. He refused to correct this misrepresentation of facts (no ice ever forms more than a fraction of an inch in the garage). Neither he, nor the father (owner) accepted the plain fact that this occurred due to the deep snow on their open lot. Father made attempt to repair twice, and on third time refused to follow through. This incident was reported to Vermont Attorney General Office Complaint 2018-04364. I had paid the bill without inspecting the work. The poor workmanship was discovered on 1st use in May 2018. The owner and his son refused to accept responsibility, refused to refund the money. This conduct led to the report to the Attorney General.
