Has forgotten the first rule of being a service provider: show up. I traded emails with the owner regarding a water softener problem. A small job for-sure. He emailed to say "We are working tomorrow already but usually I can stop over after noon. I will can you when we are done. Bill" He didn't call when they were done, but called the next day. Understandable because he was squeezing it in. When he called the next day, he said he was available at that time. I said I could be at home in 30 minutes. No, he couldn't wait the 30 minutes. Again, understandable. I asked when he could be at my house and he gave me a time and a day. I rearranged my work and family schedule to be there. He didn't show up. When I called him after the scheduled time, he told me "Sorry. I forgot." Now, the day is shot, the water softener problem is still a problem, and I need to schedule another provider, so the problem will persist until then. If the job was too small, or he was already booked, he had plenty of opportunity to refer me to someone else. Disappointing from a local service provider.

I bought a Mitsubishi high-efficiency heat pump online and had Bill install it at my vacation home in July 2014. It worked fine that summer as an air conditioner, but in the Fall it failed to provide any heat at all. I asked Bill to check the unit. He said it had enough refrigerant, was working well, and showed no error codes. He told me I had purchased a heat pump that was not high efficiency--but in fact he misread the model number, and I had purchased the right unit. I then spent a lot of time with engineers at the company I had bought the unit from and with engineers at Mitsubishi. No solution. I contacted Bill Lohsen repeatedly to ask him to check the unit again, but he did not respond to my emails. I finally had another Mitsubishi dealer check the unit. He told me that heat pumps that are not completely charged with refrigerant will still cool well but will not produce heat--that's why Bill told me the unit was "working well." The new dealer found that the connections on the refrigerant lines had leaked and the unit was almost out of refrigerant. He fixed the leaks and replaced the refrigerant, and it now seems to work fine. I emailed Bill Lohsen and told him of these findings, but he continues to insist that his installation was not at fault, and that I am responsible for all the problems I have experienced. I learned (too late) that Mitsubishi has two levels of dealers, and Bill is at the lower level. Units installed by the higher (diamond) level get a longer warranty. Bill cost me a full year of use of the unit as a heater by failing to realize that the unit had leaks and was low on refrigerant, by mis-reading the model number on the unit, and then by not responding to my requests for service.

Very prompt to my estimate request. From the time I requested the estimate to the day they installed my new boiler was only 2 weeks. The work was done quickly and efficiently. These guys know exactly what they are doing. I called their emergency number in January due to a lost prime on my oil system (Was my fault). They were at my door in 45 minutes and the problem was fixed in under 5 minutes. My go to plumbing and heating company.
Description of Work: Installed new Buderus oil boiler, controller and circulator.

I had done extensive research on the options available and saw lots of comments about contractors not knowing how to properly install , program and test these systems. Bill Loshen did a very neat, flawless installation, spent considerable time programming the unit, tested it, and cleaned up the site when they were done. They also removed all the old fixtures and debris. It has been eighteen months, and the only thing I have noticed about the system is that it is quieter, the water is hotter longer, the house is warmer faster, and my propane bills are lower. My research indicated that call backs are the norm, and there are usually glitches and corrections required. Not so in this case. The contractor knows what he is doing. Before he left, he asked us to evaluate the temperature and pressure at various points in the house, and he made adjustments until we were happy. If you're concerned about having a competent contractor install a sophisticated system, I recommend Bill Loshen Plumbing and Heating.
Description of Work: This is an update review. We had an ultra high efficiency propane boiler baseboard hot water/ domestic hot water system installed Christmas week of 2010. They installed a Peerless Purefire boiler and a Buderis super insulated hot water tank, and rearranged all the manifold piping, reusing existing circulators and adding new ones. They also added pressure reducer units as needed, as our water pressure was too high. This was all done in one day, with five people working constantly.

Description of Work: I had a new boiler installed, along with an indirect water tank. The bid price was reasonable, and they were able to schedule the installation right away, as my existing system was failing, and I wanted to get the tax credit for the new, energy efficient system. It is normally a two day job, but they did it in one day, thanks to the help of four assistants working simultaneously. They understood how the new ultra efficient boiler was supposed to be installed (Peerless PF-80) and how it was supposed to be "programmed" for best operation. The work was neat and clean. They collected half up front, and after the installation was complete, they said to use the system for a few days and see how it worked, and that I could pay the balance after that, which I did. There were a couple of unexpected additions, such as pressure reduction valves and tanks, but they did not charge me extra. They also came out one time before the installation to get my failing system running for the few days it would take before they could install the new system, and I have not gotten a bill for that. I am quite happy, and would recommend them to anyone. I used them on the recommendation of my regular plumber, who could not get to the installation within my required time frame.
