HUNGER MOUNTAIN CONTRACTING

After giving Megrath a down payment, he brought material to start the job. The next day he informed me that he wanted more money to do the project. I agreed to pay for the materials but not the labor. The project was completed by otheres. Megrath insisted on getting paid all the money he wanted. When I refused he put a lein on the property. I was the building contractor and if I did not pay him the owners bank would not release more money. Megrath is a crook and has several complanits at the Vermont Attorny's General Consumers Fraud Division.

This experience was a nightmare from the very beginning. We ended up paying over 20,000 for the job, that was supposed to be 17,500 and they didn't even finish it. They didn't put the roof on, the doors, or the batten. We had to hire someone else to do this and ended up paying extra. They were horrible to work with. We still haven't finished this project and it has been two years. The original two guys that Gary had on his crew, as well as an additional worker towards the end, warned me that he was not an honest man. Do not use this man for any contracting.
