+ -1 moreThe provider was less than upfront when information was requested and to this day, I'm not exactly sure how much we paid or what we paid for... My husband is very tech-savvy and the representative was obviously used to working with someone that is content to "let them do it" without double-checking their work or asking that they provide details of their products that would allow my husband to thoroughly research the items to be installed in our home to ensure they accomplish our goals. We received a few negative comments from people in our network about Vermont Electronics before entering into this relationship, but we were swayed by the "good relationship" the vendor had with our General Contractor. Next time, I will go with my gut and I would never subject anyone to such poor customer service by referring them to Vermont Electronics. I hope they're busy now, because as technology becomes more user-friendly and transparent (and users become more involved in their technology), they will soon be left behind.
Description of Work: Provider was responsible for installing a wired security system, internet and phone lines, and basic wiring of existing stereo and AV equipment in our new construction home.

+ -1 moreBecause of the faulty installation of the alarm, I had several false alarms. The local police department has a policy of charging for false alarms. I asked the contractor to fix the problem and to reimburse me for the false alarms caused by his shoddy work. He refused.
Description of Work: Company installed an alarm in my condominium. The contractor failed, however, to install the sensors properly so that the alarm went off without cause. I asked the contractor to come and adjust the mechanism, which he did. However, the problem persisted, and the contractor refused to fix the problem, even though he had been paid in full -- and promptly -- for the work.
