Rich was very prompt with his communication, he verified our appointment the evening before and kept in contact regarding the pick-up of the new door, which the store had misplace but eventually found. He arrived when he said he would. He installed the door just as we wished and was very pleasant and professional. We will definitely hire him again!
Description of Work: Pick up and install new storm door.
Installation of dishwasher and relocation of slide out trash/recycling center went well with minor issues discovered with existing plumbing. Rich was clear about what the issue was and provided us details on his recommended course of action. First job done! The lack of any bathroom vent fans in this home was an issue in need of prompt resolution. Rich and I worked together to craft an attic mounted solution which is in place and functioning perfectly. 2nd job done! Countertop extension required shoring up of existing cabinetry. No problem for Rich! 3rd job done! Over the range microwave installation required additional carpentry as the desired external vent was blocked by existing wall framing studs. Sheetrock was removed, studs reworked and braced appropriately, vent and microwave installed and sheetrock repaired and painted. Looks and functions wonderfully and you would never know the wall had been apart. 4th job done! Entry door replacement was relatively straightforward for the front door but the original back door was not even close to a standard size so additional work was required to reframe the doorway. This work was done flawlessly and we now have perfectly functioning entry doors front and back along with brand new storm doors as well. 5th job done! Back step construction plans originally called for re-use of existing framing. Once we got into it, we realized that the best course of action was to simply reframe the entire landing and build new stairs with trex like material and pressure treated lumber. 6th job done! Now nearing the top of our planned budget, we outlined a course of action for a few "nice to haves" and will be working with Rich in the fall to get those items wrapped up before winter. Overall, all work was completed in a professional and courteous manner with consideration given to our budget, style choices and input as customers. Highly recommend this professional.
Description of Work: We had multiple tasks to be done in our "new to us" home and Rich was fabulous had getting things done in a professional, thoughtful and reasonably priced manner. Tasks included installation of over the range microwave, bathroom vent fan, minor plumbing, entry and storm doors, new landing and steps off back door and installation of countertop extension.

This provider was very friendly, punctual and professional and assisted with looking at condition of the deck and replacing only what was necessary as I could not afford a new deck. He also looked at condition of my roof and plumbing under my sink. He provided pictures of his carpentry work prior to starting the carpentry jobs per my request. It was obvious he had completed some large beautiful decks. he was honest in his capabilities and was great with the plumbing that would have cost me much more to hire a master plumber to fix leak. Pipes needed to be replaced and re-soldered under the kitchen sink, An annoying tiny leak for years was now fixed. While replacing the floor board he noticed my heat vent was not connected to the register. He told me what fitting I needed and that was installed. I now have heat into my kitchen through this additional register instead of it running through ceiling in the basement. he noticed my front storm door needed adjusting to stay closed and recommended tips and fixed that. He gave me tips on when to stain new pressure treated wood as I wanted to do this myself. Receipts for any purchases were provided for viewing prior to payment. This provider is a great carpenter and is honest about any additional work stating he does not do electrical work. Very professional and helpful and would hire him again for some additional carpentry work.
Description of Work: This provider was hired to replace warped/aged deck boards and rails on a deck and to but in railings and spindles for front porch leading to the front door. One small inside job was to replace wet/rotted cabinet shelf under the sink due to a leak. This turned into a small plumbing project that Rich mentioned he was capable of doing.

It went very well overall. Richard was able to get our work done quickly and it looked great when he was finished!
Description of Work: We hired Richard to build a custom media cabinet, remove an existing built-in cabinet and rebuild the wall where it was removed, as well as to do some handyman jobs in our house. The amount listed above is just an estimate, since I don't recall the exact amount we paid (it was last fall that he did the work). He did a professional job. We have more work for him to do outside once the weather cooperates. We also hired him to strip wallpaper when we had a difficult time doing it ourselves.

Excellent Will probably rehire Spring 2012 for shed roofing
Description of Work: We notice water leaking down the sliding in our screening in porch in August 2010. After looking at the ceiling, we saw water stains on the ceiling tiles in the closet. Our prior roofing contractor never started the job, so we asked Rich in late September 2011if he could re-roof our camp before winter set in. Rich remove old shingles and put in dumpster. Area remained very neat, there were a few pieces of shingles in the bushes. He then put on underlying waterproof fabric then installed new metal roof. He also painted eaves that could only be reached by standing on the new metal roof. Total time from 10/08/2011 when check written to order materials to October 25th. We are very happy to have a new roof and to have to go thru another winter with a tarped leaky roof .
