At first they came in to review the job and had the state plumbing inspector join them to tell them exactly what he wanted to see done to pass a state inspection to open my cafe'. They took notes and left. The plumbers returned to walk me thru the job that needed to be done and I asked. "how much is this going to cost me?' Greenwoods answer, " as much as $2200. worse case scenario, could be as much as $2800." I stated at that time," holy smokes, ok but the $2800. was at the max of my budget, so if there is anything that my husband can do to help keep costs down, let me know." They came in, did the work, day after day after day, I kept notes on when they came in and when they left...They put a hole in my bathroom wall 12 X 12 to run a 3" vent pipe in and to this day the hole is still there. Never been repaired! I received a bill for just under $4000.00, I almost fainted.. I called the Greenwoods and complained, we reviewed hours on the job, they stated every time they left the job it was to go get parts needed, they still charge for their time. I then stated that their bill was way over the bid amount. They said, " show me the bid in writing." of course I did not have one, because it was verbal. I felt I had no choice but to pay the bill. I paid a huge amount rite off, but had to make payments on the remainder, as they charged me interest on the balance each month. When I got down to $400.00, I decided that this was a ridiculous amount to pay and had other plumbers in to evaluate. The 3 other plumbers, laughed over the maze of plumbing that Greenwoods did, all 3 other plumbers thought that at least 30% of the piping done was uneccesary . So I sent a letter with the last payment before the final $400. to state I will not be paying the final $400. and why ! I had not heard a thing from the Greenwoods in the last 6 months or more. Then last week I get a call from Tony Greenwood, letting me know that a sheriff will be serving me papers for court if I don't pay the final $400. + interest = $637.50 and there will be court & sheriff fees as well if they have to follow thru with taking me to court for their money. I was so angry, I told Tony, that if they were that desperate for money, I will pay them every last penny but I will go out of my way to let everyone I talk to know how badly they ripped me off. And how I should have listened to the other 6 people that told me not to do business with them, and now I know why !! He didn't care, he just wanted to know when he would get his check. The very next day I had delivered it to Tony!

He was on time and courteous and did the work. He made certain the area was left as clean as when he arrived and I have no complaints. I had been told he did good work, but that his prices were a little on the high side. However, I don't personally know that, since I haven't had much experience hiring someone for this in the past few years. I do know that is better to pay a little more for something done right, than less for a poor job--which may have to be done over or require another service job down the line. Bad work can be very expensive; I have had that experience. So I will continue to use Greenwood's because I was happy with their service and feel confident that they know what they are doing. My furnace worked great all winter.
