They arrived on time and moved it in a timely manor, I called to make the appointment a month earlier, they had it on the schedule and showed up as planned, they had enough people to do the job. They did have to rent a truck, however, I believe they are still building their business, so, I don't imagine that they have a fleet of trucks for all occasions yet. We had everything all packed and ready to go, so I can't say how they would do with packing fragile stuff. And they didn't unpack.. It was a take the contents from point A to point B. move. And, we were pleased with the result. Job Well Done, Thank you very much.

I needed a lot of work done at my dad's old house in Alburgh, VT. I had trouble finding anyone who would do the work I needed in that location, or would actually call me back. When I heard a radio ad telling me that Grunts also did construction work in addition to junk removal and moving services, I thought I'd get in touch. I'm so glad I did. They were able to do all the work I needed, being in Alburgh was not a problem, and they were finished inside two weeks. No one was living in the house at the time so they pretty much had the run of the place, but when I was up there a week into the work most of it was done already, and they had left the house clean even thought they weren't there at the time and they obviously weren't finished yet. The original estimate didn't include the work to the porch roof, but the estimate for that plus the original estimate ended up being the same as the final bill, which is always nice.. They even removed a piano from the living room for me, and they don't appear to have charged me extra for it. I never had direct contact with the work crew except over the phone on day 1, but all communications between myself and the company were professional and friendly. I gave an N/A on price because I didn't actually do any price comparisons, as I was just happy the location didn't scare them off and the price was in my budget. It seemed reasonable however. Overall the work was high quality, timely, professional, and I'd absolutely hire them again in the future.

The Grunts were supposed to arrive at 8am. They did not show up until 9:30. There initially were two men who started packing. We observed one of them doing most of the work (this person appeared to be the leader of the assignment), while the other one stood around and chatted with the first man about his love life and the rumors that he was with one of the girls in the office. In a few hours they realized they would be out of boxes, so they began calling people to see if they could find boxes to use for the move.
Two additional men arrived around lunch, and the first two men left to take a lunch break. The second set of men were instructed by the leader to finish packing the pantry.
When the first set of men returned from lunch, the second set -- who just arrived around lunch -- left to take a lunch break.
The first set of men decided to pack up the master bedroom. As they were disassembling the bed, one of the two -- the lazier one who wasn't doing much work -- pulled out a bag of chips and began shoveling handfuls into his mouth while disassembling furniture. Once they disassembled the bed, they realized that they didn't have any moving pads to prevent the pieces from scratching - so they took it upon themselves to use an expensive handmade quilt as padding.
They then moved to the closet to pack the clothes. They evidently didn't have the wardrobe boxes they claimed they would have when we scheduled the work. They decided to shove the hanging clothes, leather jackets, suits, blazers, etc. into small boxes. The lazy guy also continued to shovel chips in his mouth while man-handling the clothes. It was at this point that I made them all leave.
When we opened up the boxes we saw that all of the clothes were crushed and dirtied. We also saw that the glass bottles and jars from the pantry were just piled on their sides -- liquid leaking out -- without any wrapping or packing. Boxes were only half-filled before being taped up, which explains why they ran out of boxes. Mugs and bowls were shoved into boxes without any wrapping or padding. We took pictures of everything so all of the "work" is well documented.
Probably the most alarming thing is that some of our prescription medication was found missing. The bottle was for 150 tablets, and only 95 were present. It is a prescription medication that has some street value. We are planning to file a police report.

I called GMJ on 8/12/2015 and was told they could have a 2 man crew for me the next day 8/13/2015 at 11:30 am. They called at 10 am saying they could be there early. They arrived at 10:30 and worked for 2 1/2 hours. Both Justin and Ross were polite, sociable , and pretty funny actually and they worked. In fact I thought the job I had would take closer to 4 hours instead was done in 2 1/2 hours. They were more than helpful, and asked multiple times if there was anything else that needed doing.
I would not hesitate to use Grunts Move Junk again. As a veteran I also received a 10% discount on the price, which was nice.

The guys were extraordinarily polite and professional. I have used them for snowplowing before with similar result. Everything was 'Yes Sir', making you feel like a king, and it was all about making sure you were happy. There was one guy who was the crew boss - Morgan, giving instructions on the proper way to lift, and move, through the doorways, up the stairs, etc. very orderly and clearly they had lots of experience. Also, and important - very strong guys who lifted big pieces with ease. We had a queen sized mattress that would not fit - they forewarned me before even bringing it in the house that they doubted it would go up the stairs - and they were right. Done this before i guess! The guys were fast, too. They did not leave until they spoke with me and asked me if there was anything they could do to make the job better next time, and was i entirely pleased with what they had done. Wow.

There was not a single time the crew was on time to the job site. At best, they were an hour late; at worst it was over 4 hours late. They did not have the equipment required for the job so they rented it and charged me the rental fee. This was not discussed prior to the job. The crew was on site for 5 1/2 hours and I was billed for 7 hours. So apparently I was charged for travel time from their St Albans location at the full labor rate. Again, this was not discussed ahead of time. After completion of the job, and after payment, I discovered that they drove their truck directly into the side of my house damaging my brand new gutters. No one admitted to causing this damage. Their bill was a handwritten note on a piece of scrap paper. Obviously I will never hire this company again.
