Description of Work: Mind boggling interaction from a company I assume wants jobs to work on? Just called to schedule an estimate - when telling the person what I wanted - I was told how difficult my choice was. When I assured that was my choice and I understood the extra cost with my choice - I was still lectured at - THEN when I calmly replied - that it should be easy for them to give me an estimate with a contingency on added work - they still moaned and groaned !!! Unbelievable. They were so negative and sad sack - I can't imagine how bad the management is at this company to have a representative so lack luster and LAZY. Time to go to the next company on the list - I wouldn't even use these guys for an estimate now.

+ -1 moreThisis the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Why would you come all the way out to collect the data for an estimate and then not provide it. They did it twice!!! I only kept trying because they had been referred to me by someone else.
Description of Work: I had been referred to this roofer by another contractor in this field. I contacted Vermont Roofing and they came out and looked at the job I needed done. I waited and contacted them numerous times for the estimate. While assured it would be coming shortly it never did. Then Irene hit. I assumed that they were overworked so let it go for almost a year and then recontacted them. Again they came out and looked at the job. Same individual, came out both times. Again I waited and again no estimate was received. I called over 10 times over the next several months yet no estimate came. I even managed to talk to the estimator twice and he assured me it was on the way. It never came!! If anyone is thinking of using this company I would be very cautious. They actually came out to look at our house twice. That is a 40 minute drive and yet still never submitted an estimate. I guess I should be thankful... One would have to wonder how professional the job would have been if they had actually done it.

+ -1 moreCalled for routine maintenance on slate roof. Had poor response in the past (e.g., told them there was a leak in roof, it took them 2 months to actually fix the problem, cost me over $800 to repair inside ceiling/walls where leak was entering house). Called them over a month ago to replace/repair missing slate, have not heard anything yet. Unfortunately, not many choices in VT for slate repair, but will not be calling them again.
