Very professional organization. Home inspector was very cordial and looked at many aspects of the home. He offered advice on many of the systems. I was unhappy that a couple of items that were borderline dangerous as discussed during the inspection were not placed in that language then we received the completed report, weakening our negotiation position. Out of the dozens of items looked at, only a couple were new to me, so the value to me was minimal.

Knowlegable home inspector with good credentials (certified engineer if memory serves). Explained findings to me (knowlegable homeowner/renovator), understood terrain and geology surrounding home as well as most systems within the home. I already knew what work would need to be done w/ plumbing, heating and electrical. And in the end it is all about location anyways, isn't it?

and was We had used another Criterium franchise previously so we were pleased to find a franchise in Rutland, Vermont. There was no issue in scheduling the appointment and the inspector arrived on schedule. I could not be present for the inspection but both realtors were present as well as a septic system inspector. I was advised by both realtors that it was the fastest inspection they ever witnessed which should have been my first clue. The report appeared thorough but it also generated some questions. It took some time to get the actual inspector on the phone with us but when we did speak he had difficulty answering our questions which were not complex. For example, we asked if he inspected where the range hood penetrated the outside of the home. He said he did not note a range hood, The home has a commercial kitchen and range hood so how could he miss it! We rented the home back to the sellers for a few months so we did not immediately take possession of the home, nevertheless once we did take possession it was clear the inspection was rushed and numerous deficiencies were missed. For example, at least a third of the homes external trim was rotted and we have been advised this had been developing over a number of years not months. Another example was that the wood garage door had been hit by a car and was visibly fractured. The list goes on too. Needless to say I cannot recommend this company!
