Mr. Fuller was not able suggest different designs to suit the needs of my property. He suggested a complicated and very expensive system for a small property. His knowledge of different systems and regulations is limited. In addition, Mr. Fuller illegally shared his questionable findings with a third party without my consent. Very unprofessional and not legal to do.
Description of Work: Mr. Fuller was tasked with exploring systems for a small property I owned.

The services performed for the PERC test were reasonably priced and fairly well performed. As for the septic design and permitting, it's hard to imagine it going worse. His contract required 1/2 payment up front and the other 1/2 BEFORE he submitted everything to the state. He claimed in early April that he was done and ready to submit. We paid the second 1/2. He then became GROSSLY unresponsive to all efforts to contact him. We finally pinned him down at the beginning of JUNE and he submitted the application 2 months late. The state responded speedily that his septic plan was deficient in nine out of 20 or so categories on their standard septic permit checklist. Almost 50% of the items on the checklist were substandard or unacceptable. Upon receiving the letter from the State, we immediately tired to contact Aaron. After 2 weeks we finally reached him; he agreed to meet us at the land to explain things in person and determine what needed to be adjusted. At that meeting there was no discussion of additional costs and he said he would attempt to submit his revisions ASAP. Two additional weeks passed. We attempted to reach him by email or phone daily; he avoided all contact and did not return a single message. Today he sent a bill for an additional $1125. He has yet to communicate a single thing to us since we saw him last. He has not returned a single phone call or email. He is asking us to pay more than 50% over the original price to fix his mistakes. It is an outrage. We are now more than two months behind in breaking ground and it is completely the fault of Aaron. His original design failed to meet state requirements and now he is trying to hold us accountable financially. Many times during the last 3 months we have felt stuck, crippled, manipulated, and lied to. We determined that we had spent too much time and money with Aaron to start over with someone new. We figure there is no way to recover the money spent with Aaron for work the he performed poorly. With this latest development, we have no choice but to start over. We wasted $2500 and more than 3 months with Aaron. He is a liar and is unprofessional. He is funny and seems to be a "nice guy" in person. It is an act. His professional services fell well below the mark. He designed a system that he should have known the state could not approve - not because the land does not support septic, but because his design was flawed. His unresponsiveness makes working with him impossible. The time that Aaron has cost us is even more upsetting than the financial loss. At this point, the builder tells us there is no way the house will be ready before winter. That means we may have to delay building until next spring, costing us over a year. It means our Christmas will not be in our new Vermont home as we have been dreaming for the last 12 months. I would strongly encourage you to find a different septic engineer and avoid Aaron at all costs.
Description of Work: We hired Aaron Fuller to complete PERC tests in several locations on newly acquired land (roughly $400). We then hired him to complete a septic system design including all steps necessary to get to state permitting (all inclusive package for $2000).

Response from AARON S FULLER LLC
These people placed the driveway in the wrong location! We spent additional time trying to get the driveway in the location they needed. They then opted to move the driveway without consulting me. The should be upset with thier excavation contractor for allowing them to do this! Thier actions required a complete redesign of the septic system. If I allowed them to proceed they could have been in violation of the permit the state of vermont issued them.

I spoke with Aaron several times on the phone before he came out to explain my project. I was a little concerned about some of the questions he was asking, but I thought he was being thorough. We scheduled a date and he came out and did the soil evaluation. That's when it started going downhill. I asked questions that he wouldn't answer, and he didn't want to listen to what I needed as a customer. Toward the end of the visit, he started simply ignoring me and talking over me. Fine. I gave him the benefit of doubt. He said if you pay me now I will have your soils report by Friday (this was Tuesday). Friday came and went, but I figured he could have been busy, so I waited until Tuesday morning. Nothing. I called and left a message, but it wasn't returned. I emailed that morning and called back that afternoon, and finally talked to him. He said he would have it by that evening, or by the following morning at the very latest. Nothing. I waited until that Friday, and had to have a yelling match to get my report, which wasn't complete or well done. Needless to say I had to find another septic designer.
Description of Work: I contracted Aaron Fuller LLC to perform a soil evaluation for a new septic system that I am planning to install.

Response from AARON S FULLER LLC
Member was very undecided in his whole project. He also did not understand what is required of an indirect discharge permit. He had suggestions that did not meet the current regulations and got very upset when I explained that his method did not meet the ground water protection rules.
