This was my daughte who is a student in college and could not afford much. They gave her a really hard time cause they did not want to deliver unless she was going to fill her tank..Financially she was not able to do that. So they charged her $1.40 per gallon more than they charged me and an extra fee for not filling her tank...When she can afford it she will be getting a new company. They were very rude to her on the phone as well.

They came to fill up the tank and it cost us about $200. When they first came out they hooked up the propane and it went really well. They were very courteous and professional. I can't say much about the rates because I don't know about propane installation. They were really good. Their price is average and there was nothing phenomenal.

The routine cleaning went fine, although it seemed a bit expensive. A few days later we found oil leaking on the floor from one of the heat pumps, so took a sample into the office to see if it was normal or a problem and were told that someone should come out to the house to evaluate. When he arrived, he told us that it was just some excess lubricant, not heating oil that was leaking and nothing to worry about. So we ended up paying another $59 for a service call that seemed like a waste of time and money since that's why we drove over with a sample instead of just calling for an appointment in the first place. It may have been reasonable caution on their part, but seemed like an unnecessary expense to us. We used Fred's for our heating oil, boiler maintenance and some other plumbing work for about two years after we moved here. They seemed a bit pricey, but fairly competent overall, with the exception of some scheduling trouble (as in being told to call later to schedule routine maintenance, then later having to wait several weeks for the appointment since they had become too busy). I've said that I would use Fred's again because they certainly weren't so bad that I wouldn't feel comfortable giving them another chance. But since we've switched to their competitor in the area and are pleased with Blanchard's service, we aren't likely to use them again since we don't have any reason to switch back.

Excellent! The installation went smooth as silk - and although there were significant challenges with creating the two zones, that was solely due to the INSANE way the house was set up originally. Since the lower level was completely finished, it was exceedingly tough to identify where to break the plumbing to create the zones. Even though the project took several days longer than planned - and FAR more personnel (read into that Fred's unanticipated labor cost was HUGE) Fred's never wavered on the cost - we paid exactly what we were quoted. Customer service was (and remains) stellar! WOW! We IMMEDIATELY began realizing $100 a month savings in our bills! (Do the math - we will have paid for this with savings in 60 months!!!)

Tremendous! Said it would be under $100 including parts and labor - it certainly was. Talked to Fred's on a Friday, came out same day for quote, completed job on Monday. Exceptional!

The crew that installed the furnace were great. Ended up with oil leak. Not a big deal, but customer service and friendliness was very poor. They reluctantly send somebody out to fix the furnace. Furnace shutdown about 1 month later. They refused service. They wouldn't do any service because I didn't buy there oil. Lady on the phone was extremely rude. Would never do business with them again. It seems many people in the area agree. Hopkins Oil in Lyndonville has the best service I've experienced so far! Also, I had to hire another furnace repair man to come in and repair what Freds propane refused to fix... even if I paid them. He couldn't believe I paid 6k for the furnace and ductwork. He said he could install the same furnace for much less... about 4K and he would stand behind it! Go figure.
