Workhorse Construction

We had a good experience on a previous project five years ago, so hired Workhorse Contraction again. This time around, an inexperienced worker was left to do most of the work. The owner did not spend much time on the site, despite claims on web site. Many days, the owner stopped at our house for about one to two hours to teach his employee how to do the work and then disappeared for the day. The owner didn't hire a plumber. He did the entire pluming job himself. On our earlier project, he did most of the carpentry work himself and the plumbing job was handled by a licensed plumber. The Details and finish work was not as good. We had to fix a lot of little things, such as straightening a crooked door, fixing vent pipes, redoing window and door trim, and re-installing floor boards. The worst thing was that the shower enclosure was crooked to the point that the door would not close properly. This was because the shower base was not leveled. We ended up re-installing the whole thing ourselves, which involved destroying the shower base (had to buy a new base) and resetting tile as well as shower pan and enclosure. We asked for a refund for the shower installation. The owner agreed, but never send us the refund. Overall, we are not satisfied with this project.

Workhorse was prompt and started when he said that he would. We finished the work in the time I had requested.

Their quote was reasonable. The company is only one person. I like them. I thought it was helpful, professional, and good follow through with the quote. I have not had that luck with others, so it was good. I would get a quote from them again in the future if needed.

He was a nice guy. He was punctual and efficient.

Design by contractor of porch was excellent. Materials used are top grade. Work was done professionally. Cost was very fair and less expensive than other estimates. Contractor was personable to deal with.
