We contacted Brown's to get a quote on having our floors refinished. Ty responded quickly and came out to look at our floors and gave us a quote. He was very good about working with our schedule and we set up a time to get it done. His team came out and started and finished the job in the time we were told. They did a great job. Our floors which had some damage, look brand new again. I would highly recommend them and will use them in the future.

Brown's was definitely our last choice, but we went with them because they were the only ones who didn't balk at the lead paint on the floor under the carpets. The estimator arrived late and seemed disinterested in his job. That should have been our first alarm bell, but we went ahead. We had three rooms completely redone and the result is ok. They failed to sand a painted area in the master closet (but still polyurethaned over it anyway!), they dripped poly on a window sill, and they failed to sand the paint from the wooden sliver fill strips in the cracks between the planks. We were staying with friends out of town and didn't catch them before they polyurethaned right over the painted strips. They were terrible with scheduling. After agreeing to start on the second monday in august and confirming with them that date; they were a no show. The owner didn't even return my call until that afternoon I think and then played stupid. They didn't start until that thursday. Additionally they claim on their website that they use some new equipment with an external vacuum dust removal thats 99% effective. The equipment they used on our job looked like it had been in use since the Carter administration and performed poorly in their dust removal with no vacuum system anywhere to be found. I never raised any of my issues with them, because I knew it would just prolong the headache. They, of course, never sent anyone to check out the floors or perform a quality check or do any customer follow up. If our experience is indicative of their work, you should look elsewhere.

Came recommended. 1st go at refinishing floors - more hair on the floor then on my head, plus varnish on carpet, footprint on a floor not being refinished. Was told mop/applicator or bucket must have had hair in it (not ours and not from the 2 guys that did the work). Also many high & low spots, told screen on sander must have had a bad spot. Came back 2nd time - still pools of varnish at corners, high & low spots, not a quality job. 3rd time Gregory Brown, owner came back, did some fixes, said he didn't like these kind of jobs. We were told by him that this is what he did with good results....now he doesn't like these kind of jobs and said he won't take anymore of these kind of jobs. Not a professional finish/workmanship. We paid minus a $100, to help defray being out of house for 2nd time. Not a good job, still find hair and everytime we walk around see the job the bad sander did on our floor. Feathering in looks like a big swipe by mop, except for one location where it is fine. We would not use again. Follow up by owner did not "fix" and he was grumpy, complained about help and the type of job.
Description of Work: Gregory Brown, owner came out, looked at job and gave us an estimate and timeframe. We hired him to refinish (sand and 2 coats of varnish) on oak floors - kitchen floor, front hall, and walkway thru living room to bedroom. Greg assured us that they do this all of the time, very easy to feather in.
