Description of Work: A complete 2nd story addition with 1st floor kitchen renovation that needed to be essentially rebuilt due to design and construction that failed to meet code in many areas. Massive water leaks 3 years in a row and frightening findings below roof shingles revealed during roof repair. Come to find the pitch of our roof was designed and built with a much too shallow pitch . Not enough room left to vent between ceilings and outer roof with Inadequate then saturated/molded new insulation. Not to code in vermont. Found saturated, poorly applied and below code grade insulation in all new areas. Rafters below shingles just swinging side to side, never nailed down. Bathroom water pipes left too close to outside wall so close to freezing/cracking which needed to be replaced and relocated. Still seeing the effects of poor quality paint/products/sheet rock taping and blatant mishaps as far as attention to detail. In fact we found during our re-renovation that while having been charged for name brand ice and water shield that a lower quality generic version had actually been used. Secondarily, the adhesive backing to it was never removed so it was never actually sealed in the first place. Kitchen floor tile grout never sealed so chronic dingy/dirty appearance. New French doors never painted so have taken a beating from the harsh weather elements. Handled poorly when approached to reimburse the job being largely redone. Should not be practicing as a builder in our opinion. We feel we were robbed
