Better late than never leaving this review! We got in touch with Fireside Gas and Chimney last year to finally get a wood stove installed that we had been sitting on for a while due to not being able to find a service with time for us. Even late in the year, they were able to get us onto their schedule in a reasonable amount of time. We worked with James, who I cannot speak highly enough of. I undertook the building of the hearth for our stove myself, and James was more than helpful in answering questions I had about making sure the project was safely constructed and met dimensional codes. Even through some hiccups in scheduling, including bad weather, and cases of covid, they were able to keep the install moving swiftly, and made sure we got prioritized when things started to drag on longer than expected. The install was fast, professional, and looks great. Iâ m happy we had James doing this work for us. He sourced high quality materials, maintained great communication, brought a wealth of knowledge from his time in firefighting, and relived me of the anxiety of having to cut a hole in my own house. Our stove went in toward the end of January, and we canâ t imagine our home without it now. It has seriously cut into our heating bill! These are the guys you want for your stove install!

Tim came to my house 15 minutes early - he called to let me know. He inspected my gas burning insert and determined that cleaning wasn't necessary for another 12 months. He showed me how to properly operate the insert, removed dust particles and said he would be back in a year. There was no charge for his visit. That's the first time something like that ever happened. He is not only an expert in the field of gas burning fireplaces but also an extremely friendly and accomplished businessman. I highly recommend Tim and his services - you won't be disappointed.

James and Tim were very friendly, professional, timely and efficient. There was no mess to pick up. They wore booties over their shoes and laid down a big blanket to work on. They explained what they were doing and why. They price was great. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a stove / chimney cleaning. Weâ ve had a wood stove for most of the 30 years in our home and have used a number of chimney cleaners. A decade ago we landed on Fireside Gas & Chimney Service as the best value and by far, the best service. Their work is impeccable - they are more thorough and more thoughtful than any of our previous chimney and stove cleaners. In addition to a comprehensive cleaning of our stove pipe, the chimney is inspected, a report is filled out and a copy is left with us. James always carefully disassembles our stoveâ s smoke baffles and meticulously cleans them before reinstalling. At the end of the service call, the area theyâ ve worked in is left spotless. During our recent service, James changed the damaged heat panels in the stove with replacements I had purchased earlier and didnâ t charge me for his installation time. In addition, they felt the state of the stove pipe indicated that we burn efficiently and modestly enough that they recommend only returning for a cleaning every 2 years. Tim and James are both refreshingly honest and truly helpful. If itâ s possible to give a 3-thumbs-up, Iâ d do it for Fireside Gas & Chimney Service.
