Open Sash is a small business located in East Montpelier, Vermont. Chances are you are familiar with old leaky windows and the draft they can create during the long winter months. In an attempt to combat that draft and increase energy savings, it's common to throw away those windows and replace them with brand new energy efficient ones. But what if you didn't have to throw them away? What if they could be transformed into windows that have all the energy efficiency of modern windows AND the beauty of a retrofitted/restored window? Now, what if we told you that this can all happen for less then the cost of a new window replacement? Open Sash has developed the technology to do it! We are an all-local business, offering window upgrade service with the lowest cost and lowest carbon footprint available.

Services we offer

Using restorative techniques, including a window treatment system that adds energy panels, insulation and seals, Open Sash has developed the technology to retrofit existing single pane windows to double their current "R" value. We also offer sill and woodwork restoration, custom interchangeable glass/screen storms, and other custom services. We are certified to safely deal with removal and disposal of lead paint.

Services we don't offer

We clean and paint windows only as part of a retrofit or service package. Thanks for your understanding!
