Robert Rathbone Handyman

Robert was pleasant, we agreed upon a job and payment. We paid half in advance. He promised to send updates and pictures since we lived 2.5 hours away. When we came up a week later, the frame for one door had been started. I was a bit disappointed but we set a new date for completion. He didn't respond to texts and sent no pictures. The day came and he reached out to say he wouldn't be working because another contractor I'd hired to install a wood stove had used his propane. He never told me he was not showing up and the gas wouldn't have been used if they both been there like he had committed. I offered to add $100 to the end to cover the gas that was used. We set a new date and he promised to send updates and pictures. He then completely stopped answering texts, sent no pictures, and did not respond to voicemail. He kept our money and today is the day he said he would be done. The other contractor was there and said Robert never showed.

Robert worked diligently to diagnose and fix some complicated plumbing problems at our camp. Knowing that we were expecting guests the next day, he worked into the evening to fix the problems, and came back the next day to finish up. I would highly recommend Robert for plumbing and handyman services.

Mr. Rathbone delivered me in a professional manner. He was concise and nothing was lost or broken. I would use him again and again for interstate moving.

Went really well! We had to leave our home right after it broke and Robert made Sure the water was not leaking and repaired the problem as soon as we received the replacement from the town

It went extremely well. Robert is very responsive to text messages and came on time. He knew exactly how to do the job and had the tools and material to do it. He finished very quickly given the complexity of the task.

Fantastic! Robert was so helpful. He took on a difficult project, fit me into his schedule, and worked hard until it was completed! He was always reachable by phone or text, and communicated well when issues arose. He did excellent work -very thorough and neat, didn’t cut any corners. Skilled at carpentry, plumbing, drywall- basically everything! He honestly went above and beyond. I plan on hiring him again soon. Highly recommend!

Robert is kind, highly competent, highly professional, and has an extensive wide-ranging skill set that is beneficial to any homeowner. Every job Robert has completed for us, has been done with a such a high level of skill and competency. Robert is our go-to person for advice on our home and is also able to fix/install/repair just about everything. We’ve had multiple house emergencies, and Robert has dropped everything to help us out in a pinch… Including answering my calls in the middle of the night, when we discovered a leak in our basement. Robert is exceptional at what he does, and our list of future work for him continues to grow because once you have worked with him, you won’t want to go back to working with folks from larger companies who lack that human connection and frankness about the work that Robert brings to the table. I can’t recommend him enough.

Loading, hauling, and unloading including carrying the entire load up the stairs. He went above and beyond, and showed the upmost respect for my things. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Robert was great. On time, brought his own tools and didn't need anything else. He reverse engineered the problem, installed the new faucet, and ensured it worked correctly. He also trained on how to diagnose the issue in the future and instructed us where the original problem was... Very professional and kind, I would highly recommend.

Robert is an excellent handyman. He was very communicative to my wife and I about the repairs he performed on our multi-family home. He worked with the tenants to schedule a time to arrive, and worked with them to figure out any other needs for the property. We are now living in one of the units, and he came out within hours when I told him that our sink was leaking in to the unit below. He fixed the valve in no time. Highly recommend Robert.

I would work with Robert again in a heartbeat. He is polite, skillful and communicates with you during the whole process start to finish. Robert went over and above, took initiative to tighten up some insulation issues. Now that it is painted there are no problem spots, all smooth, straight corners. Reasonable rate.

I found Robert via Angie's List and then also through another neighborhood forum. We wanted to replace the existing flooring in the kitchen, entry way, and bathroom with interlocking vinyl tiles from Home Depot. Robert fixed a very squeaky area of the bathroom floor while he was installing the tile and had to make some adjustments to some of the appliance installation due to the flooring change. It was really convenient to have one person be able to take care of everything. The resulting floor looks great! Robert was great about communicating on flooring design and other questions as they came up. The work was done on time and within budget and I highly recommend his business! I would hire him again for any similar handyman work.

I had a laundry list of items to be addressed at a rental property and Robert was able to complete all of them efficiently and cost effectively. His communication was excellent and myself and the tenants are very pleased with this work. Would hire him again!

I will definitely be using Robert again. I needed several towel bars installed as well as a couple of bathroom faucets. Robert was responsive to my messages and showed up when he said he would. He did an excellent job and he took great care to be tidy and clean up debris. On his way out, he even noticed something that was installed incorrectly on my storm door ad he quickly fixed it at no charge. I highly recommend Robert. A real gem!

The man has basically prevented our house from burning down at some point in the near future...plus he was a wealth of information and advice on keeping things running top notch.
