+ 3 moreThey backed out and he didn’t want to take this project and recommended Dennis who I was very happy with. I did have a rough estimate and his partner wanted to retire and they were trying to finish up things that he had already committed before and not take on new commitments. I checked his website and he does a lot of posting beam work which is very nice stuff and that was more than I was looking for. In the website his place is gorgeous but he didn’t do any work for us. It ended up costing about what he said it would cost with another builder. His responsiveness was good.
Description of Work: I had a quote from South Face Design & Construction to build a shell. They also quoted for demolishing and rebuilding the shell on the house, on the roof, walls and exteriors. The shell was going to be 1500 square feet and I had a kitchen downstairs and a garage with L house on the back of it. On the second floor it was one bedroom and an unheated space. It was regular roof and one side I had a drummer on it but the other side stayed that way so if you basically walk in to that space you will hit your head on the roof and it is a pitch down roof and it is not full storey and that was the addition part which is one storey shorter than the main part of the house. What I ended up doing was tearing the garage part and leaving the kitchen on the first floor and taking off the second floor and built a full piece storey house that matched my house.
