(NOTE: This represents our first project with Ray in June of 2009, as it was the most complex. Our charge for this service was $1,780) Upon being called, Ray promptly came by to give us a quote (he was one of three we contacted) and provided his expert opinion on the best way to prepare our building site (including some things I'd not thought of). Began work as scheduled and succeeded in completing all of the preliminary 60'x80' site excavation (removal of several trees, leveling of site base, etc.) on the first day. Returned as scheduled the following morning (despite a light mist most of the day) and began to build up the 25'x50' building site (which had to be raised about 6 inches at the front to over 6 feet at the rear) with numerous loads of gravel, compacting each load very completely with their tracked excavator. Completed the job (as scheduled) on the third morning with installation, leveling and compacting of 8" of crushed stone. The end result? A beautiful site for our new building. As perfectly level as is humanly possible (with a properly-engineered drainage slope to the rear) with crushed stone so solidly compacted that the truck driver who delivered our 4-ton 14x20 post-and-beam building the following week commented on it. By the way, the sides of our building site were beautifully sloped, I planted grass seed on them and they've held up well to numerous rain storms in the months since completion with absolutely no evidence of erosion.
