Very satisfied customer. Mr Yarkey himself engaged in early phases to scope work and follow up. His crew showed up on time, worked hard, did a professional job, and completed ahead of schedule to include replacement of 12 sheets of plywood decking. His foreman was efficient and thorough and addressed all customer concerns and adjustments to satisfaction. I would hire again and fully recommend this company. Five Stars.

The company did an outstanding job from start to finish. The owner developed a bid and the cost was as specified in the bid. Weather had intervened between the originally scheduled day and the day the work was done, but the company stayed in close touch and we worked out a day to get the job done. On the day of installation, the work crew started at 0700 and worked until finished at 1800 on a cold (for Virginia) winter day. I'm very pleased with the work and the company.

Mike"s crew, led by Chad did a great job. Materials and crew were on time, everyone worked hard, completed job in one day. Mike performed follow up the next day visually inspecting entire job. Warranty information filled out for us. Excellent work!

We were extremely impressed with Mike Yarkey and his team from the start. His estimate was very competitive, everything and everyone arrived on time, all of the workers were courteous, very respectful of our property and conscious of protecting the building and landscaping during the installation. There was never any question about the contract being fully executed, and they added some extra items as they determined a requirement during the work. This is a very professionally run organization that takes pride in their work and clearly pays attention to the details. Mike has a unique business model for a roofing company. I would highly recommend them and certainly encourage giving them a chance to bid on your job.

In September of 2018, our 100+ year old original tin-shingled roof (finally) failed in multiple places on our Seaford home. Particularly troubling since it seems like we all live in a tropical rain forest of late. Not knowing where to begin, I posted an inquiry for “good roofers” on the Next Door app and received numerous helpful recommendations very quickly. I contacted and/or received estimates from five of these roofers and decided upon Yarkey Roofing. Mike Yarkey answered the phone when I called. He immediately satellite-googled our home and was able to begin scoping the project just by viewing those images and asking pointed questions. He understood our desires for wanting to remain true to the home’s century-old visage and was sympathetic to my anxiety from realizing we would need to remove the beautiful pressed tin shingled roof and start over. Mike provided numerous options. We finally agreed on using a high end “Old World” style GAF 50 year shingle on our main roof with copper flashing and valleys; and a copper raised seam roof on the wrap-around porch. I could not be more pleased! Mike’s crew was on time, pleasant, polite, respectful of our property, and had all tin shingles removed by Noon on the first day! Our roof has a 12x12 pitch and quite a bit of square footage so it is not a small feat, nor an easy roof to navigate. The main roof was done in three days, and the porch roof water tight in preparation for the copper panels. Mike’s copper artist, Chad, spent about a week and a half installing the beautiful copper panels and flashing on the porch roof. All of Mike’s team have an A+ work ethic; they arrive early, work all day (never saw them breaking for anything and I work from home!), and took extra care of our property and cleaned up every day. I highly recommend Yarkey Roofing. I work in Facilities Management and he and his crew are Best In Class as far as I’m concerned. Bravo!

It went especially well considering an icy winter storm was coming in. It only took them a day and half to complete the majority of the work including replacing 7 of the decking boards at a flat fee. The workers were not only professional but polite and one outright cheerful as he sang while he worked. We were happy to offer KFC for lunch; they busted their backsides to get the roof on AND thoroughly clean up after. (2000 sq. ft. steep grade built in 2002)

They paid attention to detail and they didn?t skimp. They took the time to do the job right. I would recommend them to anybody who needs a roof. You get what you pay for, that?s the whole thing. There is cheaper out there, but everything I got was premium quality and they took the time to put 6 nails per shingle and they used the premium product all the way around and other places don?t do that. There?s other folks that may undercut them by $500 to $1000 but then instead, you put a 25 or 50-year roof but they use parts for the vents that are only rated for 10 years. You?re basically putting something that?s going to fail before the roof does and it?s going to incur the person more pain in the future. Why not do it right the first time. Extremely punctual. They were when they said they were.

The owner was professional. He came the same day I called to give an estimate and returned all calls. Owner really worked with me to ensure the shingles he purchased matched the rest of the roof. The workers who seemed to be subcontractors weren't as good. They put the nails in the gutter which I didn't care for. Also and most important, the roofers didn't lay all the shingles down flat. The shingles are gathered up at the edge of the roof. I don't know if this will result in the wood getting wet again. The owner came back but the gathering/puckering/lifting was not fixed.

Mike was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He has excellent communication skills and called me to let me know his previous appointment went a little long and that he would be 15 min late for his appraisal. He showed up on time for the repair and fixed 3 roof leaks. Mike also explained in detail the condition and expected longevity of my 19 year old roof with absolutely no sales pressure to replace it. I will definitely be calling him for an estimate when that time comes.

They did great and could hardly tell that they were here since they did an excellent job of cleaning up.

Great - we were really pleased with everything from initial contact to finish. When he realized we were angie's list members and that was where we got him from - he wrote us a check to reimburse for the coupon!!! This was what just put him over the top. From start to finish the communication with Mr. Yarkey was great. The materials used were top notch and he ensured I had all the necessary information to receive a rebate from the manufacturer. My roof was done in one day in quite a professional manner. They even cleaned and painted the roof vents. Mike and his crew were did great work in the evaluation, installation and clean-up. From the beginning I found Mike Yarkey to be honest when evaluating my roof and it's needs. I was ready to put architectural shingles on my roof but Mike recommended that the cheaper three tab would be a better option because of the shallower pitch on my roof. My roof was done in a timely and professional manner with great care given to the details like chimney flashing and painting of roof vents. My roof had some additional rafter issues that need to be addressed and Mike and his crew were open and honest about what need to be done and worked hard taking extra time to make it right. If you need a roof on your house Mike and his crew are the people you want!

I selected Mike Yarkey over several other proposers due to his personal involvement in every aspect of the needed work. From the initial bid to the finished product, Mike was involved in a very hands-on way. Much different than dealing with a sales rep who is gone when the work commences. Mike is knowledgeable, personable and professional. The four-man work crew assigned to my project was focused and competent and obviously experienced – polite and easy to deal with. Mike showed up in one hour after my call due to a ceiling water spot in my kitchen. Based on the location, he checked the attic area first. After a thorough inspection, he determined it was a AC unit condensation pan leak, and went as far as testing with a small amount of water to confirm. He also took a picture to better explain the issue. Mike was extremely professional and appreciate the honesty. I will certainly call again for any roof issues.

After speaking with Mike about my roof leaking, he came to the house the next morning early because he knew I work nights. He knew a storm was coming the next day and had his crew out here within hours. Awesome job and very professional man. I would definitely recommend him and will only be using his services for now on.
