+ -1 moreNothing got done I was not satisfied.... overall I feel like that was the most expensive home visit ever....
Description of Work: I used the special that was running for winterization of 25Windows and 3 doors. Well what a waste of time and money neither which I could ever get back. First off the coupon said recaulking and sealing of 25 windows and 3 doors. So I called the company and set up an appointment for the next day at 230 they didnt show up until 345 and I had to call them to see what was taking so long. So once he arrived he seemed confused about why he was there. So i told him what I paid for showed him the coupon and he looks at the window without even going over to it and says no I cant do it. Mind you out of the 16 windows that I have he only looked at 3. In the back of my mind Im thinking about the 155 I paid to have my home interested. So he looks at me and says whats next. I show him the sliding glass door he says no to the door so i asked him could he replace the sealing stripe that was coming off. Without even removing the old are cleaning the area he starts putting new sealing stripe on top of the old. So i stop him and ask him to remove the old and clean the area before putting new sealing stripe up. So long story short I paid 155 for him to half a** put 2 sealing stripe on 2 that has came off and a sliding glass door track dirt every where and use my bathroom.... Not happy and mad I wasted my money for him to just show up at my house. But he did mange to let me know that he could replace the Windows and doors and and do any work that needed done... I will never refer him r use him again

+ -1 moreThey did a totally inadequate job on what they did work on. They said they can't fix very much of this for this amount of money. We have to charge a whole lot more to fix the problem. The work that they did do did not motivate me to want to hire them to do more.

Description of Work: He made an appointment to come to the house to give us an estimate and never showed. He then called me a week later and acted like I just called him and wanted to set up a time to come out to give us an estimate. I told him that he was a week late and he didn't remember making an appt. that he didn't show up for. He began to apologize and wanted to come out then. I told him that we changed our mind about the job. We wasted many hours waiting home for his arrival that never happened.

+ 1 moreOverall very good experience. A couple hitches initially based on telephone miscommunication and a lost address, but all was cleared up and work accomplished as promised and priced, to my satisfaction.
Description of Work: Second floor gutters pulling away from fascia, taking spikes with them. First floor gutters sagging, creating waterfalls over front and rear doors. Gutters on both floors clogged with debris from shingles and nearby trees. Tom installed internal brackets to re-secure the sagging gutters, and re-hammered gutter spikes in place to maintain exterior appearance. Cleaned all gutters. Proof of quality: big thunderstorm hit less than a week later and no more "waterfall" outside the front and back doors.

+ 1 moreThe workers (2) arrived on schedule and wasted no time in beginning work, setting up an outside work station, removing window blind, old framing, and finally the window itself.. Precise measurements were taken for new framing and new frame pieces were made outside. After clearing all debris from damaged area, the window was re-installed and new frame pieces, cut precisely to size, was installed. The entire window was then caulked and work area cleaned. These men knew exactly what they were doing, were professional in every sense of the word, and wasted no time in getting the work done. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Problem was a bathroom window in which the framing had deteriorated and in need of replacement. Company provided all material and equipment to remove window, prepare surface, replace window and install new framing, removed debris, and completely cleaned bathtub, fixtures and floor.

They arrived right on time and wasted no time getting to work repairing the areas that needed work. Both Tommy and his helper were courteous, professional, and friendly. Great job!
Description of Work: Had several items that needed to be repaired before I was able to sell my house including outside window moldings and sills, a 2nd floor facia board, and other wood deterioration.

+ 0 moreThe spackle was not well sanded and you can plainly see where the drywall joins. They left paint splatters in several areas and in other areas coverage was spotty. They used my kitchen sick for cleanup and managed to get pain on my kitchen cabinets. The textured ceiling did come out nice except for the paint splatters from the wall.

+ -1 moreThey gave me a free estimate of how much it would cost to have my home powerwashed and painted, they were punctual and gave me a good estimate. I would recommend there service they were professional, courteous, hardworking they would call if they could not come due to the weather conditions.They never charged me extra for replacing some of the light fixtures or removing a satelite disk from my roof.
Description of Work: They powerwashed house replaced wood siding that needed to be replaced, painted house with Olympic solid stain I picked the color .They filled bee holes on home and replaced some of the light fixtures that I had purchased. The price that they gave me included all the paint and the siding that needed to be replaced and labor I felt the estimate was good.

+ 3 moreTom and two employees completed the above jobs in two visits. The two visits were done at my request. They were well prepared with needed materials, tools and know how. Work was done with pride and skill.
Description of Work: Gutters were well cleaned, scraped and brushed, endcaps removed and replaced, new drainage ends were added to two downspouts, silicon was added to reseal connections, Two front steps were remortared on the face, rise and side; mortar was added to space under the porch. Broken garage window was replaced, screws were added to hanging garage ceiling drywall. Two lock sets were replaced. Window a/c unit was insulated, framed with wood and painted.

+ -1 moreI went and bought a new faucet. I had everything that I needed. He was down to earth, and I liked that. He said he would call me that day, and I asked him for a ballpark figure. When he did not show up I called him back. When I later told him that I would call someone else he asked me not to do that. He said he would be here first thing in the morning. He came and told me that he had the tools and everything. He finally got the job done, and charged me more than what he said he would. He said he had a lot of trouble finishing the job. He did not even hook up the plug, and he told me that he did not feel like it. I paid him. What upset me was the fact that I could've called someone else. They would have replaced everything for a lot less. They would have done it for $30 less. I would never use Toms Handyman again ever.

+ 0 moreMost of the work was because of the noreaster we had here last November. I was happy with the drywall repair. I was not as happy with the repair around the enterence door. Tom explained to me why the problem happened and how I could fix it myself. The floors I was mostly happy with. My only real complaint is that he is not as detail oriented as I would have liked. The add on Angie's list said that he gave discounts. The price he quoted me was the price I paid so I don't know if that was with or without a discount or how much of a discount or what the "regular' price was. Overall though, Tom is a likeable man and I enjoyed working with him. I would call on him again if I had a need. I think his original trade was as a painter so when I need to paint again he might be getting the call.
Description of Work: Repaired drywall in livingroom ceiling. Reapaired drywall in ceiling of bedroom closet. Repaired wood around enterence door. Put down flooring in foyer, dining room and kitchen.

+ 1 moreRepairmen showed up on time and started work immediately. The door was the one I wanted so I was elated. Workers were personable and friendly. They discovered that they could not reuse the inside molding. It was eaten by termites so they left to get more molding. Didn't take long to return. They finished the job in a reasonable amount of time. Although the door that was replaced is new, wonderful and not coming apart, it is not completely flush with the frame and the inside molding style is not the same as what was there before. It is in garage and no one sees it but me.

However, he said he would get back to us within a week with an estimate for all the work. When he did not get back to us, we called, and he said he had been tied up but would contact us within another week. That did not happen, so we called again, and he said he would respond shortly. It has now been about 8 weeks since he first showed up, and we still have no estimate. We have decided to delete him from our list of handymen.

+ 2 moreA nor'easter damaged a vent seal on our roof and caused water damage to the ceiling of the master bedroom. We searched Angie's list for likely candidates, and since we'd been putting it off for a while, decided that we should take the opportunity to get the interior of the house painted. While we were getting quotes and choosing the service supplier, we also decided that two of the bedrooms should have ceiling fans installed. We contracted with Tom Wojnarowski, Sr., to do the work. From start to finish, Tom and his mates were courteous, professional and responsive to our every question and concern. The work took about 7 days to complete, but after each working day, the crew cleaned up and left us with a livable house. It was spread out over several weeks (Tom fixed the roof leak right away, but then we needed to fit the rest of the work into his schedule), but they showed up when they said they would and worked hard while they were here. They took considerable pains at every step to make sure that we were happy with the work as it got done. We weren't home when they finished the last room, which we thought wasn't done up to the standards of the rest of their work, but when we called Tom about it, he came right out and fixed it for us. We are big fans of Tom Wojnarowski, and will be getting him to power wash and paint the outside of the house in a couple of weeks. With no hesitation we highly recommend him to anyone in the area needing an excellent workman.
Description of Work: Repaired a vent seal on the roof, repaired the ceiling damage caused by the leak, installed two ceiling fans (including electrical, since there was no pre-existing wiring), full interior painting.

+ -1 moreIt was a slow start coordinating which day that Tom would be able to come out to complete the repairs. Once Tom was on site, he completed all the tasks assigned.
Description of Work: I am putting the house on the market and needed several small repairs completed. Tom caulked 7 outside windows. Tom was able to un stick two of the Bay windows and replaced the window screens. Tom replaced a small section of siding on the back of the house and installed an outside water hose hanger. Inside of the house, Tom installed a bedroom closet door, repaired a small section of the kitchen wall and replaced 2 sections of tile in bathroom.

Description of Work: I needed to have a broken storm door removed and have a new one picked up from the store and installed. This was no east task as i found out that the front door itself was hung poorly and leaned to the right!! He not only got the door installed hang right but he fixed some of the bad patch repairs that the old home owner had attempted to do!! And the whole time chatting with me and he and his sone were very apbeat and professional.

gutter cleaning
+ -1 moreA little disappointing - I guess no one wants to clean gutters anymore. I ended up going to Angie's List to find someone to clean our gutters after a few phones calls to other places did not produce any results. Even with this guy, my husband called first and did not get a call back, as promised. I had to call again myself to get the guy to come out and give an estimate. He came back in a few days to do the work, left some of his materials on the back deck and the only "invoice" was his card with an address scribbled on the back. Nice enough guy, just not very professional, in my opinion.
