Description of Work: Repaired pocket door and repaired wooden window frames.

Description of Work: Called Tom to inquire about several small jobs I needed to get done. He was very pleasant. However, he already had many job requests, and he could not guarantee when he could get to mine. We agreed that it might be better for me time-wise to try to find someone else, which is what I did. I called him back to let him know I had found another company that could come out in two days, and he was very understanding about that. His business is located near me, so I will not hesitate to enlist his help in the future.

Description of Work: I called and left a voice mail with a brief description of the job (scraping the "popcorn" from the ceilings in my house) and asking to schedule a time to meet and get a quote. I never got a call back.

Description of Work: I used Toms Handyman to do some caulking and minor repair work.

Description of Work: Vendor failed to return my initial call and follow on calls to set up an appointment to see my area to be painted and do the work.

Description of Work: We secured this contractor based on Angie's List recommendations. We hired this company to perform repairs and updates to my deceased parent's home. We needed interior painting, fixture replacement, carpet removal, etc. BUYER BEWARE. We did NOT follow the work as we should have. There were minor glitches along the way, as expected. However, the kitchen cabinets were painted by roller, with apparently a long "nap" roller, which provided a less than smooth finish. They responded to our concern, though their "repair" was less than our expectations. The cabinets still look "textured." DISCLAIMER: our father, deceased, was a professional painter/paper hangerer, so our standards are quite high. He's probably" rolling" over in his grave, no pun intended! Contractor finished the work while we were on vacation. Upon our return, we were preparing for 2 kids to return to college. DISCLAIMER: we did not inspect OR pay attention like we should have. New Year. All of our houses/kids are in order. We are now ready to put the house on the market. In cleaning and preparing for same, we are now HORRIFIED at the lack of quality this company performed. Again, we did not conduct a thorough inspection like we should have, minus the kitchen cabinets. Our fault, for sure. Now, time has passed, probably too late to address our concerns, but we noticed, for instance, that the ceiling in one of the bedrooms reflected the fact the workmen had painted "up to and around" the ceiling fan/light fixture, rather than drop the fixture and paint underneath. ALSO, they painted OVER dirt/dust on all of the windows, without having cleaned it first (I guess that's NOT understood), so all of the windows have a rough/dirty texture. They also missed some cross-bars on windows altogether. They also painted completely over some outlets. Who does that? I understand that the onus is on the homeowner to insure the quality of the work performed on their property. We obviously did not do that, and this is the result. BUYER BEWARE! If you hire this contractor, who is VERY congenial (don't be fooled!), make sure you stay on top of the work that his crew performs. I wish we had. Our bad.

Description of Work: I have worked with him many times. He recently put dry wall in my garage and replaced the gas water heater. In the past he did carpentry work and many other of odd jobs. His pricing is reasonable. If you call him he responds quickly. I don't think e mail is a good way of communication for him. He always has a good attitude. If it's something he cannot do, he'll tell you so and if he knows someone who can do it, he'll let you know. Overall I've always had positive experiences with him.

Description of Work: We purchased an Angie's List Deal which comprised of checking windows and doors for winterization. Tom replaced and installed weather stripping and realigned our deck door to correct a visible gap between the door and the frame. He also discovered that most of our windows had misaligned tracks which caused a tremendous draft. He fixed all of them and it has made a significant difference in room temperature.

Description of Work: I sent him an email requesting an estimate and he never responded back. I never heard from him at all.

Description of Work: I contacted Tom's Handyman service to get an estimate for repairing our poorly working sliding glass doors. After several phone conversations, he eventually came out examined the doors. He could not provide an estimate because he did know exactly what needed to be done until he removed the doors, which he did not do at that time. He never came back or called me again, despite several more calls to his company phone number.

Description of Work: Located the source of window leak via a thorough multi-step process that involved roof, plumbing vents, gutters, and siding. Replaced rotted wood under siding which involved taking up some decking boards, inside replaced insulation and dry wall, sealant inside and out. Noticed bad boots around roof vents and sealed. Hung new gutters, inspected for moisture damage and shingle issues, suggested and implemented new drainage method from down spouts. Noticed porch swing needed different S links and provided.

Description of Work: I called Tom to ask for his help on several projects including toilet repair, installing ceiling fans, some drywall repair and light fixture installation. He answered the phone himself right away, scheduled a date and arrived on time, even a few minutes early! He reviewed the jobs, gave me a very fair price and performed the jobs on the spot. I was so impressed that was able to start the jobs immediately. He did a great job on everything and I would certainly hire him again AND recommend him to anyone looking for a handyman.

Description of Work: Reinstalled gutters on home which had been renovated.

Description of Work: Installed two 14 foot railings in enclosed stairway, finished with polyurethane.

Description of Work: Brian, Tom's son, installed laminate flooring in my house. He also fixed a broken mailbox, reinstalled a cabinet and did some trim painting.

Description of Work: They cleaned out all of my gutters thoroughly, bent one back that had been damaged, and put water through the downspouts. They also took down a storm window broken by a bird strike, took it to Lowe's and got a piece of glass, fixed the window, and put it back up; started a generator that had not been run for years and advised us on how to keep it in shape; and checked on a kitchen exhaust fan that was not working properly. They checked at Lowe's for a replacement fan and got all of the information so I could special order it.

Description of Work: In the past year, I have contacted this service twice by e-mail explaining what I needed done and on both occasions I did not receive a response.

Description of Work: Patched our roof, did ceiling work and cleaned the gutters.

Description of Work: He cleaned 8 gutters, hauled away waste and cleaned up the ground well.
